equipment and experience it takes in order to properly recover and secure a vehicle involved in an accident. There may be fees associated with cleaning up an accident depending on the amount of work needed to clear the area.
Ms. [redacted] asked us to take the vehicle to a body shop that was closed. Our company policy is any vehicle going to a body shop after hours that is not an account holder with our company is to be taken to our shop until the next business day. No additional charges are added for the secondary tow on the next day to deliver it to the body shop. We have this policy in place to protect ourselves and the customer. If a body shop is closed there is no one to sign for the vehicle or to secure the keys. Also we can not collect on the tow charges if an employee is not available.
Mr. Knowles made contact with Ms. [redacted] and discussed the differences between a regular tow and a accident recovery. In order to rectify the situation Mr. Knowles refunded Ms. [redacted] the $30 storage fee assessed from her vehicle being placed in storage at our shop overnight.
