Apex

Review: I called Apex and asked if they do free a/c check and when can I bring it by? One of the employees said yes they do and I can bring it by whenever. When I get there an employee starts asking questions about what is wrong with the car? I tell him, I've had the car since 2009 and never tried to turn the air on until last summer and it was only blowing out hot air, I told them I couldn't get it worked on because the mechanic thought the engine was too hot to work on and wanted me to leave it but I couldnt. The Apex mechanic gestured that the statement from the other mechanic was false. He went to the car and asked me 3/4 times if anyone had ever worked on the a/c and I told him no. He came back and said it was too much freon pressure and he would have to vacuum it out. I asked what it would cost, he said "oh it ain't nothing". He vacuumed it and said he has to do a leak test,again I asked what is this costing me and replied again nothing, this is part of the a/c check. He came back in and said it should only take a couple more minutes but if it pass the leak test, I should be fine. He came back in and said the leak test passed and if he should put freon in which is 125.00 dollars and I said to proceed. He came back and said your air still don't work and I looked at him and he said let me go see why its not working, he came right back and asked if my serpentine belt broke before and I said yes he went back into the garage and said here's the problem, he pulled out a model compressor and said "when the belt broke, it knocked off a piece that connects to the compressor and that's why its not working. I paid left and came back with my sister and was asking about spending 125.00 and get nothing. He went on to say, "they told me it wasn't guaranteed that my air would work after the freon which is a lie. They never said it wasn't guaranteed and he went on to say, the 125.00 was also for the leak test, and vacuuming the old freon out and also for a diagnostics. Apex mechanic was asked, as stated earlier, what it cost and he kept saying nothing, was even asked how much was an a/c check and I was told it was free but now when my sister came to ask what was the 125.00 for? He starts talking about all the stuff he did that was suppose to be free.
