Review: I was a customer of Apollo Carpet & Upholstery on April 19, 2013. We arranged for them to clean our carpets over the phone as we recently moved. They gave us a quote of $160 and we paid with our credit card by phone. After they had cleaned our carpets, we got a call informing us that they charged us an extra $90 without approval, explaining that it took longer than expected and the house wasn't described exactly right. In our initial conversation, he assured me that if they quoted me less than it would cost, they would call me to let me know before they started the cleaning. I demanded a refund of that $90 he declined and then threatened to go to the house and spill fingernail polish on the carpets. Our phone conversation was recorded to substantiate.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of the $90 charge and the $35 overage charge my bank charged be due to this $90 unapproved charge.

Apollo Carpet Cleaning was called to clean [redacted] by the tenant. I was told there was 4 bdr, den, liv rm, a flight of stairs. They also mentioned nail polish stains and wondered if they could be cleaned. I gave an estimate of 160.00 and said there may be additional charge depending on how bad the stairs were and said they may not be cleanable. They agreed and I said I would call if the charges were more than 160.00. she gave me a credit card #. After arriving at the home we found there was a second full flight of stairs that the tenant had not mentioned. The nail polish stains were deep and significant purple color. The living rm and hallway carpet were very heavily soiled also. Before starting I phoned the tenant as I said I would. There was no answer. I left a message and asked to be called right back if they wanted to. There was no call. Then I phoned the property management co. I ask if the tenants were responsible for cleaning the 2nd flight of stairs and removing the stains if possible. They said it was necessary or it would be taken from the deposit. Not hearing back from the tenant I proceeded cleaning. My son and I spent 45 minutes cleaning the deep nail polish stains. The really heavily soiled living room and hallway required and extra 15.00 of spot cleaner to get them cleaned along with more time. This took us a little over 3 hours after completion. I tried contacting the tenant again. No Answer. I left a message explaining that I needed to charge another 90.00 to their card to cover our expenses. Again no return call so I charged the card. A while later I received a call from the tenant inquiring about the charge. As I began explaining she said she had to get off the phone she was driving. A few hours later her husband called. He was angry said he was taping the call and asked if I was given permission to charge the 90.00. I said no, and explained I called several times explaining the situation, no answer or return call. I continued trying to explain the entire situation to him and my phone call to the property management. He did not seem to pay any attention to what I was telling him. He went on saying he was going to call the police, the Revdex.com, trash us on facebook and so on. I asked him, being sarcastic if he preferred us to go put nail polish back on the carpet as opposed to getting his deposit back. He finally hung up on me. I called back, no answer. I left a message stating I retracted the 90.00 charge. I truly regret this happened, I did explain there may be additional charges when they scheduled the cleaning. When they did not return my calls I assumed they accepted the responsibility of paying the reasonable charges to cover our expenses. P.S. I have contacted the property management company since they're inspection of the house. They were happy with the great job we did cleaning the carpets. My merchant company told me the 90.00 charge was retracted not refunded meaning it never went through to the tenant card. Meaning they're could not be a 35.00 overcharge.
