I'd had my capacitor replaced years prior (Feb 2014) and I knew the symptoms of a failed capacitor and my a/c was showing the exact same symptoms as before I called this a/c tech (Mike from Best Deals AC) to come out Monday Aug 8, and replace the capacitor and we agreed on the price of $ He came out and within minutes he said it wasn't my capacitor but the fan motor He said I owed him $for his service fee for coming out so I paid him
The next day, another a/c tech from Roberts and Sons sent from my home warranty (HSC) came out to repair my unit The problem: the capacitor needed replacing He showed me my current capacitor and it was swollen Took him minutes to replace the capacitor and then my unit was working perfectly I received the invoice detailing the issue with the capacitor
