Review: I hired apow to tow car from Bronx to croton, we paid 175 cash in advance. They have Revdex.com logo on website which I believe is not accurate. When they arrived at car, car had been towed which I did not know. I know they spent $ on gas and will happily re-imburse them but they did not fulfill contract.Desired Settlement: I will pay for their gas and time but that doe snot come to $175.

Review: My car was stolen and reported to the [redacted] precinct in [redacted] in 5/**. On 7/**/15 I received a letter from [redacted] Police departmet informing me of the cars' recovery. the letter was postmark 7/**/15. I went to the [redacted] precinct to obtain a release form because the car was towed on 7/**/15 when the car was found.No one contacted me on that day. The towing company is charged me 800.00 for towing and storage from 7/**/15. I didnt know the car was found until I receied the letter on the 7/**/15. Contacting the towing co. the charge breakdown was 150. for putting it on the flatbed 100 for winching and 85 for tow prep.plus 35 for storage since 7/**. The company said that I can turn my title over to them. I spoke to Howie who refused to give me his last name or the owners name and hung up on me.I did not give them permission to touch my car. unfortunately it's a big business of overcharging and preying on those who have suffered a loss.Desired Settlement: To pay for towing and the days of storage from 7/** until 8/*/15 that I knew the car was there.

Please see below:[redacted]'s 1996 acura integra ny plate BDD-5366 was recovered stolen by the [redacted] Police on 7/**/15 cr#[redacted] and was towed by us by order of the [redacted] Police under our contract we are one of 5 companies in rotation to responed to these calls.[redacted] said she was never notified by the police department when she was notified by mail on form [redacted].On 7/**/15 we notified [redacted] by certified mail as requireded by law.On 7/**/15 [redacted] went to the [redacted] police picked up her needed release form then didn't come to claim her car intil 8/*/15.As far as her concern of over charging all of our charges are under the City of [redacted] guide line and are set by the City of [redacted] not us we follow the rules set fourth by The City of [redacted] I also tried explaining this to [redacted] and I directed her to P.O.R[redacted] who is the officer who over looks this contract.So as I see this sitution [redacted] should be directing her problem to the police department my company only did what we were instructed to due as per the police department.If ther is anything else I can help with please let me know I have all letters and forms she was sent. APOW towing is a complete fraud of a business. As far as I can tell, they do no legitimate towing or similar services; they do, however, contract with the city of white plains and the city if yonkers to boot and tow the cars of unsuspecting citizens such as myself. When I called the number they left on my immobilized car, they simply refused to give me their company name (huh?) And made me jump through hoops just to figure out who booted me and how to resolve. Even though they were the booters. I also found out that this company is all about cronyism, as they are friends with the mayor (or former) of Yonkers and were thus given a large city contract which was later investigated for said cronyism and impropriety. I would not recommend this business as they simply do not operate with integrity.
