Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/03/18) */
In response to the Consumer's complaint,
No damage was done to lawnWash out of left over grout will not hurt a lawn
We have filed a claim with the installer's insurance and the insurance company will be contacting the Consumer to
settle this
The costs of an electrician were never part of our estimate or billConsumer was made aware that she would have to hire her own electrician
We understand there is an issue with uneven floorWe have offered numerous times to come correct the issue, but Consumer refuses to let us correct the issue
Pay of the contracted installer for another job has nothing to do with this case and is irrelevant
We did go to Consumer's home throughout the installation processAt least different people from our company did go to Consumer's home and checked on the progress and installationWe were also in daily contact by phone with the Consumer
According to the electrician, all of the heat mats were working after he wired them up, which took place after installationElectrician showed the Consumer and her daughter how to use themHeat mats were all installed where the Consumer instructed him to put themWe are not sure if she over bought on the heat mats
The grout smear can be corrected without damaging the tile and we have offered to correct the issue numerous times, but Consumer refuses to let us correct the issue
In regards to the Consumer's desired resolution, her estimates to correct the minor issues in the home are outrageous and not correctWe removed her old flooring and installed all new flooring for a charge of *** of which Consumer did not completely payMs*** purchased the heat mat on her own and wanted Southern Floors to install it under the tileThe whole floor does not need to be replacedWe have offered numerous times to go to her home and correct the issues or refund her *** for the amount she paid us minus the costs of the materialsWe cannot refund her the costs of materials since they have been installed in her home

Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 20, 2015/04/20) */
Revdex.com Comment - The consumer came to the Revdex.com office and stated she did not want the company to come back to her home after all, since she feels one of the installers stole her credit card and her medicationHowever, she would allow a professional installer come back to her home along with a representative of the Revdex.com for inspection

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2015/12/07) */
Contact Name and Title: [redacted], Owner
Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX
Contact Email: [redacted]@mysouthernfloors.com
The [redacted]'s picked out a [redacted] Wood product from our store. The product board clearly stated that the wood product comes in...

random lengths ranging from 1 foot - 7 foot long. It does not state how many of each size, only states random. When the product came in, it did have random length ranging from 1 foot to 7 foot, but very few were over 3 1/2 foot long. Southern Floors does not have any control over what is shipped from the manufacturer as far as board lengths.
The customer had requested that the longer boards be installed in living room and den, leaving only shorter board lengths for their master bedroom. Our salesperson had suggested to the [redacted]'s that we order in a couple more boxes that would have some longer pieces before the master bedroom was installed but that wasn't agreed upon. The [redacted]'s have expressed numerous times that they love their new floor and are happy with it, but they just wished that it had some longer boards.
[redacted] the supplier of [redacted] wood, was notified of the issue regarding very few boards over 3 1/2 foot long. [redacted] denied any claim due to the sample board clearly stated that the wood length was random ranging from 1 ft. to 7 ft. [redacted] our supplier, did agree to give the [redacted]'s a $250.00 refund for the inconvenience and was trying to make the customer happy. The [redacted]'s had agreed to the amount offered by [redacted] We recently received the refund from [redacted] and the owner wrote a personal check on December 1, 2015 and sent it to the [redacted]'s. It was clearly stated to the [redacted]'s that the refund may take some time to get. We forwarded the payment as soon as we received the refund.
In regards to the unreasonable/excessive floor noise, since the time we had the installer go back to the [redacted]'s home to nail down some of the problem areas, we had not been contacted in regards to any continued floor noise. We would be happy to go back out and look into what is needed to quiet the floor.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 12, 2015/12/15) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Response from the business is factually incorrect. The installer (provided by Sou Floors) installed the flooring based on what was in each box as they opened them. We obviously did NOT supervise the installation. AFTER the flooring was installed, Sou offered to order some longer pieces AFTER the flooring had been installed which would mean ripping up some of the new flooring. Not and option.
Regarding the flooring - the sample board clearly stated the board sizes 1-7 ft long with an average length of 3 1/2 ft (42 inches). Not one board was 7 ft long since the boxes were only 6.5 ft in length. The product delivered did not meet the advertised specifications. Simple math proved it. NOTE: The sample board of [redacted] has since been removed from Sou showroom which indicates to us the advertised product was misrepresented.
Finally, the "repairs" to the problem areas now have shiny nail heads showing and some hammer indentations. Not sure we would trust the installers to take the time to repair the floors properly. We have now received a check for $250 (approx 3% of total cost) thanks to the involvement of the Revdex.com.
Based on this very troubling experience. We certainly would not recommend [redacted] flooring products nor Southern Floors. Lesson learned.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2015/12/16) */
We are not sure what the customer wants us to do to resolve any issues after their response/rebuttal to our first response. The original Consumer's Desired Resolution was "We seek a reasonable price adjustment based on the mis-advertised flooring. We expect proper repairs to the floor and correction of the floor noise problem." The [redacted]'s admit they received the check from Southern Floors. The [redacted]'s also state "Not sure we would trust the installers to take the time to repair the floors properly". Can Southern Floors send an installer out to correct the repairs the [redacted]'s are requesting or is this issue closed? Southern Floor's strive's to make every customer.
Final Consumer Response /* (2000, 16, 2015/12/20) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
With some reservation we will accept Southern Floors offer to send a fully qualified installer out to correct the repairs. Given the dollar amount we have invested in the floors, we want the problems resolved and have quality floors for our investment. Hopefully, this can be accomplished.
