Apple Chevrolet-Cadillac Reviews (4)

Review: Purchased a used vehicle from the dealership and needed to register in NJ(At the time I had dual addresses due to work). I had a very bad experience with Apple [redacted] as I purchased a vehicle the year prior and my plates were mailed to my nj address and stolen. I explained to Mike K[redacted] general manager that I was ok with the price but wanted to make sure that the same issue was not going to occur. I shake hands with mike and go in to see Phil S[redacted] (Finance Manager). The paperwork was ready and I signed all the documents but I was informed that the dealer did not have the title and it would take up to a week to correct the issue. At this point I prepared t walk away as we were moving back to NJ on a permanent basis and did not feel comfortable taking a vehicle with no title. Phil has a conversation with Mike and they came up with a dealer plate on the vehicle for the week until they received the title. Again I was not comfortable but agreed to drive the car home to my PA address as the vehicle would be parked in the garage and not utilized the entire week as we were in NJ. They explained to me that the dealer was insuring the car and that we should consider it a loaner as they needed a week to get the title. (IS IT ILLEGAL TO SELL A VEHICLE WITHOUT PROPER DOCUMENTATION)? We hear from Phil and arrive at the dealership a week later. At this point we finished signing more paperwork????? and drove of with a temp plate which was good till the 4th. Phil mentioned that we would have to get the vehicle inspected with the temp plate in Nj, send him a copy of the inspection sticker before he would be able to release the registration to us. (Again I questioned the process but was assured that is how things are done). Went to inspection in Nj as was told by a manager at DMV that without a registration I can not get the vehicle inspected. Called Phil and this came as a surprise to him. My concern was that the PA inspection that was on the vehicle was removed by the DMV manager before he verified that we had the proper documentation. My wife continued to drive the vehicle minimally as we were afraid of being pulled over with no inspection. Heard from the dealership that the title was in and that we had to resign all the documents????????? Again more confusion!!!! Documents arrived and we were to believe that the registration would be here in time as our temp plates were ready to expire. Apparently the title that they had was incorrect???? And that the correct title had been found and that's the reason we needed to resign all. Contacted the dealership a week prior to the plates expiring and they reassured us the registration would be in on time. NO LUCK, two days prior I contacted the dealer and explained the situation. I demanded loaner plates, or an extension on my temp and both could not be done. I then requested to have a rental dropped off at my NJ location and they stated "It would not be cost effective for them to do that". I was not pleased with the answer and had my wife call them back. We were in panic mode as my wife needs the truck to drive the kids to school. The 3 options that they thought were helpful - 1. Drive with an expire tag which they told my wife was no big deal and that we were over reacting,2. they would type up a letter for US to go to the nj dmw and get an extension. Wife calls nj dmw and was told by two supervisors that is impossible to do as this was an out of state purchase 3. we would have to rent a car and they would reimburse us. We decide to take the rent a car and had a check sent to us to cover the expense. WITH THE CHECK ALSO CAME MORE PAPERWORK THAT NEEDED TO BE SIGNED. I refused to put any money up (deposit) for the rental so Apple chevrolet called after much going back and forth and had a rental set up and stated that the registration should be in by the 11th. We arrived at the car rental this morning thinking it would be a 20 minute process and come to find that the dealer did not complete the paperwork and we would have to cover the bill. We spent 2 1/2 hours at the rental and cancelled our weekend plans to deal with this headache. I spoke to the owner and general manager of apple and both were apologetic but the apology does not correct the numerous issues we have had. As of today the vehicle is sitting in the garage with no registration. I am a victim of apple chevrolet and as a consumer feel taken for a ride and nothing I can do but sit and wait. I'm sure my registration will eventually arrive and the dealer will wash their hands and screw over another customer with poor practices. It stinks that we are at their mercy and the only solution is to deal with it and listen to the many apologies. The above are all factual events, as we were very patient till now.Desired Settlement: 1. Return the vehicle and finish off my lease with [redacted] which is another 11 months.

2. If above is not possible, get me into a lease for a new [redacted] for 3 years 120000 miles at same monthly payment and have delivered to my NJ address.

Dear [redacted],In reference to complaint from [redacted], ID #[redacted] now has the tags needed from the State of New Jersey. Apple provided [redacted] with a vehicle to drive through [redacted] while he was waiting for the tags. Also as a goodwill gesture we took care of paying the first months payment because they were unable to drive the vehicle. [redacted] should not have any issues with Apple Chevrolet.Regards,Steven B General Manager

Review: I originally purchased a Ford Explorer from Apple on 12/28/12. I traded a saturn vue that I owned outright. Within the first few weeks, I began having mechanical problems with the vehicle. The car would jump from left to right when braking abd accelerating. Apple serviced it and had to make adjustments to the rear end. The drivers door would not latch closed. Within the first few months I had to put several hundreds of dollars of work in to the vehicle to keep it operable. On June 2,2013 while driving the vehicle the car began shaking, I lost all steering and braking ability, and was run off the road. At the point that the vehicle came to a stop I was in the middle of the road on a blind turn. Police advised to move vehicle as much as possible for safety. When I attempted to do this, the rear passenger wheel completely fell off the vehicle. The vehicle was initially towed to [redacted] ford in [redacted] but apple had it towed to apple. They inspected the vehicle and indicated there was no reason for that to occur other than rear end differential problems. After several days of rental expenses, Apple indicated there was nothing wrong with the vehicle other than the wheel and indicated that I must have driven it making a horrible noise for some time for the wheel to fall off. I explained to them that both [redacted] and apple indicated initially it was rear end differential problems and now there was nothing wrong. I explained there were too many problems with the vehicle they couldn't diagnose and I wanted out from under that vehicle. I asked that they just refund me the money which they would not do. I asked they provide options to replace the vehicle. I was not given options and had to research their vehicles myself. They were able to get me into a Subaru outback on June 4,2013. On September 5, 2013 the vehicle malfunctioned, the check engine light came on, the cruise light began flashing, and the vehicle was not going over 10 miles an hour. I had the vehicle taken to the closest garage which was [redacted]. At that time they did an oil change and checked all fluids. They also ran a diagnostic which indicted two different codes relating to transmission malfunction. I then had the vehicle diagnostic at apple chevrelot where it was purchased. It again revealed transmission malfunction codes. As a result they took it subaru service. The following day on September 6,2013 apple Subaru indicated there were no codes indicated and all lights were off. They claimed there was absolutely nothing wrong with the vehicle and again can not explain the malfunction.

I have missed work unpaid on several occasions because my vehicle either wouldn't start or broke down. Apple has yet to acknowledge any problems with the vehicle.

I have had nothing but problems with apple

Sales and service since walking in the door. Due to the extended warranty I was sold, most garages will not complete work due to difficulty dealing with them. As a result I am forced dealing with apple for every repair needed.Desired Settlement: I have requested service records for both vehicles but have not received them. The service contact changed often. The salesman for the Subaru was ray kitch.

I would like to just get the money back that I received as trade in on my original purchase, return the vehicle I purchased from apple, and take my business elsewhere.

Dear [redacted].

I have taken the time to review [redacted]’s listed issues and concerns with her Ford Explorer. At Apple Chevrolet we are especially attentive to our customers and their concerns. When **. [redacted] had an issue with the Explorer, Apple did help her trade the vehicle. No one can indicate the exact cause of the vehicle’s wheel issue; the vehicle was inspected by the Service Department at both Apple Chevrolet and [redacted] Ford in [redacted], PA.

As for the new vehicle concerns, it certainly seems there is something wrong with the vehicle per her list of concerns, but the extended warranty should help cover the cost of these issues. **. [redacted]'s vehicle is currently in our Service Department.

Apple Chevrolet is not willing to back out the deal, however; we are willing to make sure the necessary repairs are done that the extended warranty will cover.

Regards

Review: I purchased a used car in September 2013 from Apple Chevy Cadillac on a loan. In the ten months I had the car, I put as much into repairs as I did into payments. The only time Apple Chevy Cadillac accepted responsibility was when my radiator went out after I had only had the car four months, and even then they paid only for the radiator itself and not the labor, tow fee or for the fact that while trying to sort this matter out with them, I missed two days of work. My car has been two twice since then, most recently because the transmission went out, and that alone will surpass the cars value to fix.I contacted their sales manager to discuss this matter and he said he would do everything he could to get me into a new car. I drove an hour in to discuss it with him (at this point having lost another three days of work due to not having a car and needing a ride from my mother to even come in to speak with him). He then passed me off to another sales associate, never actually handling my needs himself. The sales associate told me that he had only one car that would suit my needs, and that I would be able to afford. However the money they were willing to give me for my original car was half what the value of it would have been. He took a second discount out but I was still looking at having to, at that point, shell out $500. We waited for the bank to approve it but I was told I was in a state of limbo, that my request had neither been confirmed nor denied. The sales manager finally came back on the scene and said he would give me a dealer tag on the car I had been told was the only one I could have so that I could come back when I was approved the next day.The following day I received a call from the sales associate, not the sales manager, saying that I had been approved but the bank wanted $1500 instead of $500, and this was my only option. I tried telling him that I knew of another car in his inventory that was a thousand dollars cheaper than the one he picked out for me: surely with all of the company's expertise they could make that work and allow me to purchase this third car under loan. He said that was impossible with my income and credit history, that this more expensive car was my only option and that I had to trust him. I trusted his company when I bought a car from them in the first place; that did not turn out well for me.Desired Settlement: I would like a better car. I would like for that car to fit into a budget set by the bank. The trade-in for my current car should be close to if not exactly what I owe on it to avoid ruining my credit score with negative equity, especially when it's thanks to this car they sold me that I have any negative equity at all. Taking into consideration the inconveniences I've suffered, having missed now a combined two weeks of work (including the days lost due to previous issues with the car), the car that they sell to me should be heavily discounted and made to fit my budget as far as monthly payments. I do not want my old car, which has been unreliable to say the least, to be fixed. I would like a newer, better car that will last.

Dear [redacted],In reference to complaint from [redacted], ID #[redacted].We were able to help [redacted] by trading her into another vehicle on August 30th, 2014. It was unfortunate that the first vehicle had so many problems arise. [redacted] should not have any further issues with Apple Chevrolet.RegardsSteven BGeneral Manager

Review: HAD MY VEHICLE SERVICED FOR WHAT WAS TO BE A ROUTINE MAINTENANCE (FUEL INJECTOR CLEANER ADDITIVE WHICH DIDN'T DO ANY GOOD THEN I WAS TOLD TO DO A MORE EXTENSIVE CLEANING WHICH I DID AND THAT IS WHEN EVERYTHING WENT SOUTH DURING THIS PROCESS THE C-CONVERTOR WAS DESTROYED AND THAN AFTER HAVING MY CAR FOR 2 MONTH AND MORE THE CAR HAD A ENGINE OVER HAUL . HOWEVER AFTER COMPLAINING THAT THE CAR RUNS WORSE THAT ORIGINALLY. APLE REFUSED/DENIED AND STOOD BEHIND THEIR REPAIRS THAT EVERTHING WAS GOOD AND SAID THAT I COULD GET AN SECOND OPINION WHICH I DID AT KELLY CADILLAC AND THEY FOUND THAT THE PARTS USED TO REPAIR MY ENGINE WAS INFACT THE INCORRECT PARTS FOR MY VEHICLE. IT IS NOW INTHE HANDS OF KELLY CADDILLAC FOR REPAIRS WHICH THEY ARE HAVING PROBLEMS DETERMINING WHAT OTHER ISSUE ARE A DIRECT RESULT OF APPLE NOT REPAIRING MY CAR PROPERLY.Desired Settlement: WOULD LIKE APPLE TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR ALL THE TIMELOST/ INVESTED ON MY PART. THEY RUINED MY VEHICLE THE ENGINE IS ALSO RUINED AND IS TOTALLY UNEXCEPTABLE.

I SPENT SO MUCH GAS GOING BACK AND FORTH TO TRY AND MAKE THESE REPAIRS ALSO TIME SPENT LEAVING WORK AND LOSS OF SLEEP TO BE ABLE TO COMPLY WITH THEM IN MAKING REPAIRS. MY REQUEST TO BE COMPENSATED FOR THE LOSS OF TIMMY TIME TBD. AND MOST IMPORTANT MY COMPLETE ENGINE REPLACED OR ANOTHER VEHICLE IDENTICAL TO THE MAKE AND MODEL OF MY EXITING VEHICLE NOTHING LESS
