Review: I called because I needed my washing machine repaired. I had done some trouble shooting so told Kevin (answered the phone) what I thought the problem was. I was told there was an $79 service charge to come to the house that included the first 30 minutes of labor. Any parts would be extra. About 25 minutes later the repair was complete. The repair man told me the bill was $201. I asked why and to see the invoice, but he would not give it to me until I wrote the check. I wrote the check and the invoice said $69 service charge, $10 fuel surcharge, total $201. I called the shop and asked why the bill was so high. Kevin basically told me because that was what it was. I had my boyfriend call and Kevin finally said the part was about $40 and he couldn't explain the rest, so agreed to send a refund for $50. Two weeks later, no refund. I called the office and Kevin told me he had to wait to make sure my check would clear but he would get it in the mail the next day. A week later, still no check, so my mother called and asked when the check was coming, and why it was only a $50 refund, not a $80 refund. Kevin said just because the repairman could finish the job within the first 30 minutes doesn't mean he doesn't need to make money - so the extra charge was for that. That was not what was explained when I called to schedule the service.Desired Settlement: I would like a $80 refund - the amount I believe I was overcharged by the company. I will pay the service call, the fuel surcharge, and for the part ~$40 (this is what he told me verbally over the phone). That should be $120, not $201.I believe the repair man overcharged me because I am a young woman - especially since once my boyfriend called and a refund was offered. I think that I am entitled to itemized invoice when I ask for it.
