He opened each side of my side by side refrigerator and told me it could be the fan, or the mother baord, or the compressor, but to start work it would be $385 and could go up beyond $600. NEVER did he open his tool bag or preform any test. He told me parts were expensive, but I had already pulled the part list with prices from GE and showed him this. He wanted 385 for a $60 part, and $600+ for a part that was $149. I had a uneasy feeling, and told him to leave. He wanted his $50 so I wrote him a check. After he left I called the Owner/Manager of THE APPLIANCE GUY. I beleive his name is [redacted] I told [redacted] he never even opened his tool box or an any diagnostic tests. [redacted] said he put a meter on it, I told him NO, he did not and [redacted] said he [redacted] give me my check back. The next day I called [redacted] again for the return of my check at 9am. He said no problem, but when I checked my bank online he had already deposited the the check. I called him again, He tried to get me to let someone else come repair my refrigerator. I said No thank you. Then another man called said he works for a competitior of [redacted] and he would be happy to come by and make the repair. I told this serviceman, NO thank you. I called the GE Rep and found a GE certified repairman who came out. The GE serviceman connected the refrigerator to a computer and found the problem. He made the repair, which happened to be the mother board and charged me $335 which included an $89 diagnostic fee and a 5 year warranty with the part. THE APPLIANCE GUY repairman [redacted] said if it was the mother board it would be over $600 with a 1 year manufacture warranty. After GE left my home I called [redacted] again. I told him GE had made my repairs, did a full diagnostic test with a computer, and serviced the repair along with a 5 year warranty. He started to yell and scream at me over the phone, but I calmed him down and we both agreed to meet today at Frost Top on Claiborne to return my money. He was to call me when he was in my area sometime between 1 and 3 pm. He did not call and never returned the money. I do not want to call or speak to [redacted] of The Appliance Guy again and hope that the Revdex.com can mediate the return of my $50.00. Hi, Friday the customer is gonna get $50. svc fee refund returned![redacted] text or call her around noon...[redacted].

Review: Appliance guys were called on 1/7/15 to complete a repair on a front load dryer. On day 2 after the part was purchased they returned to complete the repair. A friend and I watched as the repair was being done. [redacted] made the statement "I didn't know that I needed an audience. His unprofessional behavior continued. I asked a question about taking a bend out of the dryer not saying that they did it. [redacted] began yelling at me. I told him that he was not going to talk to me like that. He was so angry that he cussed his fellow worker (in my presence). He was paid $170.00. The dryer seemed to be fixed. I was told that I had a 30 day guarantee. My wife came home, tried the dryer and it didn't work. I called him to ask that he return to fix it. He began yelling at me on the phone and called me a racist. He hung up in my face. He sent a very nasty text full of expletives that I still have. So much for a guarantee. My wife called him back and he would not answer his phone. This was such a rip off. He did replace one roller, but the dryer is still noisy and my locking mechanism and chimes no longer work. I would not recommend this company to anyone.Desired Settlement: I am requesting a refund of the $170.00 that I paid. I had to pay another repairman to properly complete the repair that he wouldn't return to do.

Review: My refrigerator stopped keeping food cold. On Sunday February 22, I looked on the internet for an appliance repair company that could come out on Monday. Most companies could not come out until Tuesday, but The Appliance Guys returned my call and said they could come by on Monday around noon. At 1pm on Monday a repairman showed at my door. He walked in with one very small tool bag. I showed him to the refrigerator. It is a side by side. he opened the refrigerator side and fiddled witht he temp. gage, then opened the freezer side and looked in. He then said it could be the fan, or the mother board or the compressor. and said it [redacted] cost between 385 and 600 to repair. I asked him how he came to this diagnosis without checking it out closely. He suggested that he start repairing the fan first and that may do the trick, but if it does not he [redacted] replace the mother board, but the costs [redacted] escalate. I went on the internet and found the part for the fan was $60 and the mother board was 149. I showed him this and he got aggitated. I said thank you but I do not want you to fix my refrig. He asked for his "diagnostic" fee of $50.00. I gave it but felt threatened. I called the manager and he said he [redacted] return my fee. The next morning I check my bank account and he cashed the check. I called the manager who then proceeded to yell at me and said he [redacted] bring me the cash tomorrow when he feels like it. This business is a scam. GE came out, hooked a computer to my refrig. and it was the mother board. total cost was less than what I was quoted by these scam artists. I am meeting [redacted] the owner tomorrow at Frost Top on Claiborne ave. to get my refund. I don't expect to have it refunded and hope the Revdex.com can help. It was amazing to watch this scam. He did not use any tool from his small tool bag to make this incorrect diagnosis.Desired Settlement: Refund of my $50 as promised. I [redacted] never use or recommed them. Should be checked out as they are scam artists.

Totally irresponsible. Never called and had to cancel. They could not keep appointment or a commitment to call.

Review: When I called for a repair, I explained the issue with my refrigerator and was told that the service call would be $40.00 and that this amount would be deducted off of the bill. I was told that he would be there by 3 pm, he showed up around 4:30.The repair took only 30 minutes. I was charged $145.00 for the 30 minute repair. He adjusted the door and pluged in the ice maker.I feel as though I was ripped off. I will not call this company again for any repairs.Desired Settlement: I would like for $75.00 to be returned to me. I feel as though this is a fair amount.

Response:

Yes, $145. Is not unreasonable for a fridge repair try to buy a new fridge they cost around $1000

How ever if the customer feels like that was a bit to much I'll refund her $40. Other wise she's

HORRIBLE!! Called to say that the ice was not freezing, it was water.. Will sent his brother, Sid, out. He said it was the computer or circuit board or something like that. He changed it, cost me $265. within days the same problem still existed. Sid came back out, said he fixed it, no charge - of course. Couple of days later, same problem. Called them back and Sid insisted it was a different issue, that the first fix was for the refrigerator not working.. the refrigerator always worked. It was the icemaker that was the problem. Talked to the owner - Will. He said well he guess they just couldn't fix it. He agreed to give me $200 of my $265 back. I called another repair service, they charged $110 and the icemaker works beautifully now. Will said to call him back Thursday - he should have the money by then. Today is Thursday, I called him, he said he'd been thinking about it and he didn't believe his brother would lie to him (although his brother told me in the future I could call him directly) and that Sid did fix the reported problem and the icemaker was a different problem. I insisted that I was the one who called the job in and I know what I told them, and that was that the refrigerator worked but the ice wouldn't freeze. When I persisted about wanting a portion of my money returned, he yelled at me then hung up on me. (And if he says I'm a girlfriend trying to get back at him - that's not true... I've never even laid eyes on him.) Shim-Sham man, scammer, don't believe anything they say, they will take your money and run. Next stop, the Revdex.com
