On May 6th, My Appliance Source received a request for service at a property owned by Ms***Ms*** stated that the control panel on her range was not functioning. Although a component failure is certainly one option that would cause this condition, there are also alternative problems
that could cause the same issue, such as loose or broken wiringAt the time of the call, our service charge to come to the home was clearly explained. Our service fee includes a trip to the home, plus diagnosis of the problemThis fee is charged whether the unit is repairable or not. It is impossible for our staff to diagnose a problem over the phone because there are too many variables that could cause this conditionUpon checking the range, it was determined that the control board had failed. The technician also carefully inspected the control board to see if the existing part could be repaired. Unfortunately, it could not be field repaired. The technician performed a nationwide parts search for the control board. He also contacted the manufacturer to see if the control could be sent in to be rebuilt. Neither option is available for this Frigidaire productAt My Appliance Source, we take careful measures to maintain reasonable, and professional service rates. There is a cost of doing business in order to dispatch professional, trained service technicians. It is in everyone’s best interest to perform a complete repair each time. Unfortunately, in this instance, we were unable to complete the repair due to the lack of availability of parts, or alternative repair methods
