Review: After an accident, my car was towed to this auto shop without my authorization. Despite the title and insurance being in my name, the tow truck driver allowed my step-father to sign for the car to be towed without my knowledge or approval. Neither the towing company or the auto shop ever bothered to take down my personal information, insurance information, or billing information. The paper signed by my step-father has hardly any information on it and was not filled out by either the police officer who responded to the accident scene or the tow truck driver who towed my car. I was only later informed where the car was towed to. When I called Approved Auto Shop to make sure my car was there and to see what was going on with it, the girl who answered the phone had no idea what I was talking about and could not link me to the car in any way. I was told that they had no information about the car or me. I had to tell her that I was the owner of the 2004 Nissan Altima that was in their lot. After talking to another man, assumed to be the owner or manager of the shop, I was told that since I never signed an agreement they had no way of charging me and to just come pick up the car. When I got a tow truck to come pick up the car, the man at the shop told me I owed them $330. I refused to pay this bill and because I never agreed to have the car towed to the shop was never informed of any type of charges - so I certainly never agreed to pay any charge. Furthermore, I had been told on the phone by the same man that I could simply get the car towed from the shop and no charge would be assessed. The man became irate and started to scream and curse at me. He told me to "call the [redacted] cops." PO [redacted] of the [redacted] District in Philadelphia responded to the incident. The man did not bother to come out and handle the situation; instead, the ignorant and immature receptionist dealt with the police officer. The girl acted extremely unprofessional to me and the police officer - waving the agreement that I did not sign in my face, screaming, cursing, rolling her eyes, asking me irrelevant personal questions, and refusing to give me any type of answer to what I was saying. The police officer apologized to me and said that he unfortunately could not force them to hand over my car. PO [redacted] took down a police report and instructed me to contact the Revdex.com and possibly a lawyer to handle the out-of-control situation.Desired Settlement: Car returned to owner

Review: On July 31, 2013, I was involved in an car accident, the towing company towed my car to Approval Auto Body.My insurance company, [redacted] went to the Auto Body Shop to discuss with the owner of the shop, [redacted], and agreed to pay $8538.62 to fix my car. Two weeks later, [redacted] called for me to pick up my car, upon checking my car, there were still plenty of problems and requested to fix it again. During the three weeks I was waiting for my car, I have called [redacted] many times asking when I can pick up my car. He said he will give me a call when the car is done, without giving an approximate date.
On September 27, he said I could pick it up, when I went to the Auto Body Shop, he was not there, when the employee returned my car, I noticed that they have changed my original car key. Resulting in not being able to use my remote to open the door or using the remote starter. So I left my car there for another day hoping I could speak to [redacted] personally about the key. He called the next day on September 28, screaming obscenity and using insult, inappropriate language, not giving me a chance to speak and hung up.
[redacted] refused to accept the responsibility and refuse to admit that he has lost my key and giving me a replicate. There were still many problems with my car that he did not fix, such as TPMS light on, big gap around trunk, doors not aligned, roof line not straight, also dents on roof, rear bumper paint is rough. Having no alternative choice, I had to take my car back.Desired Settlement: Refund, apology and replace my car key.

Dear [redacted],
In response to the above-mention complaint I believe our company went above and beyond on all repairs that pertain to [redacted]'s 2009 Toyota Corolla. We completed all repairs per the estimate that [redacted] provided us for the date of loss of 7/31/13, As a courtesy our company also repaired at no charge to the customer non related items to [redacted]. **'s vehicle.
I have listed the concerns and status of the customer below, items that are not part of this accident, and l have also listed non related repairs completed at no charge.
1. The key is the one that was giving to the tow truck driver. All keys get tagged and are kept with the car or in the office at all times until the vehicle is released to the customer.
2. TPMS / needs a receiver $540.00 (not part of the accident)
3. Gap around truck (not part of the accident) ;
4. Door not aligned (this was corrected by us)
5. Roof dents (not part of the accident, but did fix at no charge to the customer)
6. Rear bumper paint is rough (not part of the accident, did not repair or paint rear bumper)
7. car vibrates when driving .repair balance front of tires, replaced rear spoiler driver's seat replaced bolt that were missing, repaired coin holder, replaces all wheel locks, right bracket is a piece of metal used to assembly as a guide for the bolt (dealer was unable to order), replaced engine splash shield clips (not part of the accident and no charge to the customer). ;
8. Reset passenger air bag light, tighten pillar trim replaces rocker clips, repainted rocker molding, Frame is repaired correctly and quarter panel was replaced.
[redacted] wanted more repairs completed to her vehicle that were not from this accident. As we were able to do a few small repairs as a courtesy and still not being able to make [redacted]. ** happy, we asked her to pick up her vehicle on several occasions leaving it at our shop becomes a liability for our company.
As with everyone of our satisfied customer we will go atjove the estimated repairs to make our customers happy.

Review: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
1. Advanced Body Shop did not return my original key with the remote. Evidence shown below:
Key on the right is an my extra spare key with the remote from the dealership when I purchased the car in 2008. Key on the left is the key that was given to me when my vehicle was returned to me.
When the car was returned to me the first time, I was returned with the original key that looks exactly the same as the key on the right. When I picked up my vehicle the second time after I brought it back for more repair, the key on the left was given to me. The problem now is that the key one the left that is given to me from the body shop can start the car but not with my original key because the ignition has been programmed. In order for me to use the original key, it will cost me $200 to have it re-programmed again from the Toyota dealership.
2. TPMS light was on after the vehicle was returned to me the first time, which was never turned on before the accident. When I questioned the owner, he said the TPMS light will turn off after a couple hundred miles. If he is aware of the TPMS light problem, then it must have been damaged in the process of repairing my car or during the accident. As it states on the repair estimate by the insurance company, the tire has to be mount and balanced.
Approved Auto Body had not contact me to pick up my vehicle as they stated in the respond letter. I had to contact them multiple times to find out the progress of my car. When I went to Approved Auto Body to pick up my vehicle, the owner [redacted] was not present, wanting to speak to him personally about the key, one of the worker informed me to return again the next day to speak to [redacted]. As a vehicle owner, I was eager to pick up my car, they have falsely accused me of not picking up my vehicle. The next day, the owner [redacted] had finally personally contacted me. He verbally abused me, using threatening, violent, inappropriate language, causing me to be traumatized with reoccurring flashbacks.
In conclusion, I am asking for $740 for all the damages and repair that I need and a formal apology from Approved Auto Body.
Regards,
Business

Dear [redacted],

Again we are sorry that the customer still has concerns however as stated in our last response to the customers 8 concerns we do try to go above and beyond for each of our customers. Our response to the last 2 concerns are the same as the ones listed on October 14, 2013.
1. All keys get tagged and are kept with the car or in the office at all times until the vehicle is released to the customer. The key that was returned to the customer is the same key that was left with the car.
2. TPMS light, the insurance company denied as damaged from this accident. The customer can contact the insurance company with regards to the denial. This vehicle has been in several accidents in the past and it is possible that it is related to a previous accident.
Our company is not responsible and will not be compensating $740.00 as the same key that was giving to the shop is the key that was returned to the custon ter and the TPMS light damage was denied by the customer insurance company as not related to the accident. All customers are call immediately once the vehicles are completed for pick up this is for liability and space reasons.

Review: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
1. The employee of Approved Auto Body acknowledged that a different key was given to me on the day that I picked up my vehicle, and I was told to contact the owner, [redacted] the next day regarding to the key issue. However, when I finally got a hold of the owner, he verbally attacked me using threatening and inappropriate language.
It is a fact that I was given a different key that day, causing me to use two different keys just to start my car.
2. Approved Auto Body was well aware of the TPMS light issue, when I first picked up my car on 8/17, the light was never turned on before and after the accident, it was only turned on after they have worked on my car, and is still currently on. I questioned [redacted] about the light, he told me that the light will turn off after a several miles, but the issue still isn't resolved. This proves that the shop had knowledge about the TPMS light, and it wasn't from previous accident.
In the previous letters I have mentioned [redacted]'s negative attitude towards his customer, but he hasn't respond to it, can I assume that he admits to his action towards me? This issue would have been resolved long ago if it wasn't for his attack. I only wanted to make sure my car is fine, as any other car-owner would, but I was yelled at by [redacted]. Is this irrational behavior accepted as a business owner?
