Approved Moving & Storage, Inc. Reviews (3)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.
Sincerely,
[redacted] I was told by insurance carrier Jason advised her to reject insurance claim for delay of delivery.  I will settle for the $250.00 settlement, but the damage done during this delivery is much more. Thanks for your assistance

I contacted Approved Moving & Storage, Inc. in Far Rockaway, New York, to ship my household goods from NYC to British Columbia. The Sales Manager never followed up on telephone calls and when appointments were made to assess final paperwork, or answer questions, the representative was no where to be found. I ended up using another moving company 4 days before shipment date and to this day, I have not heard from this company.

Review: Approved moving and storage arrived at location with truck to small to handle the furniture load after a in home inspection. Delivery was delayed because they had to come a second day with another truck which was also to small and a third truck had to be dispatched. After being delayed three days from the original delivery date, the stated that the truck broke down in route for delivery. After approximately a week and a half later I received my furniture which was damaged, bed post and marble tops were broken. My wall and wood work in my new home was damaged because there was insufficient workers to bring delivery in house. (worker left before all furniture could be placed in house. I was told by representative that Jason (manager of company) said to deny reimbursement for any delay lost.Desired Settlement: reimbursement for expense incurred becaue of delays

Response:

To Whom it May Concern, A representative from my company, Approved Moving & Storage Inc., agents for [redacted] went to [redacted] home on September **, 2015 to do an in home inspection/walk through to evaluate [redacted] move. After the walk through a binding estimate was submitted to [redacted] based on the cube sheet (inventory taken during the walk through) and the move was agreed upon. Based on the amount of household goods weight, a large 28 foot straight truck which would have accommodated everything on the cube sheet was sent to [redacted] home on October **, 2015. During the course of the day it was evident that not everything would fit as the amount of goods that [redacted] wanted to be moved exceeded the cube sheet and not all of his goods would fit. Based on the additional goods my company sent another truck to pick up the overflow the following day on October **, 2015. At this point my original truck was leaving to deliver to Bessemer, AL with the majority of the goods as we worked on a solution for the overflow. Unfortunately en route to Bessemer my truck broke down in [redacted] on 10/**/15 and the repair was not completed until 10/**/15. During this time, [redacted] was kept in the loop as to the status of the repair and he informed me that he was returning to NY as he had previously scheduled and would not be returning to Bessemer, AL until sometime the week of the [redacted] of November. While we were in our right to deliver his goods after the truck was repaired ([redacted] could have a consignee appointed at destination) as a courtesy for the inconvenience we brought his goods back to our warehouse in New York, unloaded his goods in order to accommodate his request to be there at the time of delivery. [redacted] and his wife came to the warehouse during the week of November *, 2015 and we agreed to deliver all of his goods on November **,2015, the first day he would be back in Alabama. In addition, although it was our right to charge up to an additional $2500.00 for the additional items/weight of the goods, we agreed on $1000.00, again as a courtesy to [redacted] for the inconvenience. Therefore, my company felt that while we could not originally get his goods to Alabama as originally planned, based on the break down (I can provide an invoice if requested) and the overflow, we did everything in our power to accommodate [redacted] as best as we could. However, since he was a good customer, I am willing to offer an additional $250.00 (which is more than [redacted]) in compensation to meet [redacted] satisfaction. Lastly, if [redacted] believes any damages occurred during his move, he is entitled to file a claim with [redacted] and the claims department can be reached at [redacted]. Respectfully, Jason F[redacted]
