To whom it may concern,
I am responding to the letter I received in the mail the other day from you, the Revdex.com, concerning a...

complaint from a recent customer of mine.
On Saturday, March 28th I went to the home of [redacted] & [redacted] @ [redacted], Lancaster PA to give an estimate for an "over-all thorough housecleaning."  I write down everything the customer wants done, in detail, and give a quote.  The [redacted] have a rather large home and it was extremely dirty/dusty/cluttered.
They wanted furniture moved, thick wooden baseboards cleaned, some windows, some curtains removed (& the home owner then laundered them). There was one room they did not want cleaned at all (w/ exercise equipment in it).  My estimate I gave was $400.  They called me then + agreed.  We scheduled cleaning.
On Wed. April 15, 2015 my-self and 2 helpers cleaned the home.  Between the 3 of us we spent 17 hours at the home cleaning.  I personally was working in the kitchen.  The laminate cabinets were heavily coated w/ grease + dust.  I tried 2 different products + they were not cleaned to my satisfaction.  I called [redacted] to the kitchen to explain that I would have to come back tomorrow to try something else on these cabinets.  She replied, "No, it's fine."  I told her "I" was not ok w/ leaving them like that.
I tried to call her.  She would not answer my calls.  I texted her a few times (some copies of texts included in this letter).
She then answered on of my calls + tells me her + her husband are just not pleased. I emphatically asked her to allow me to come in + make it right and she refused. She asked for some money back + we agreed to $50 refund.  I sent her a $20 check and said this is to cover the cost of any products you may need to purchase to clean the cabinets.  "I" was upset because they refused to allow me to come in and make things right, + satisfy them.  Apparently they have not cashed the $20 check I've sent.  So I am sending them $30 to make good on the $50 refund we initially agreed upon.
In my estimate, the home looked 1,000 times better after we cleaned it and we did a great job -- w/ the exception of the kitchen cabinets, which I wanted to come back + do right.
These particular customers are just very negative people who thrive on complaining and I'm convinced are never satisfied w/ ANYTHING in life.  They live like slobs and it's sad to say, but people who DO tend to LIVE like this + feel comfortable with it seem to be the ones who expect perfection from someone such as myself.  I will be honest, when I was there to do the estimate I got a sense that "these are people who just may complain no matter how nice of a job I do" -- + quite frankly for the filth I had to work in, I should have charged them $500.
I might add that within 5 minutes of me arriving to clean the home, [redacted] asks, "would you give a complementary vacuum and dusting to the room I told you to skip"?  I said "for a fee" + I think this is partly what helped her develop her resentful attitude.  Trust me, we had PLENTY to do for the $400 I quoted.
Respectfully,
April B.
Have a beautiful day!
