Pool contractor covered hurricane anchors in lanai when installing pavers in lanai, left us unable to install hurricane shutters during storm, pool contractor never explained during installationcontacted storm shutter company to reinstall , they indicated pavers where not installed correctly per code, pavers were just laid over sand, need to be thin set in ( secured with mortar like bathroom tiles )contacted manatee county indicated they do not check for this on inspection or check to see if hurricane anchors were coveredhave contacted pool contractor various time for him to resolve never returns my callscost to reinstall anchors $plus another $-$to have pavers installed correctlyasking contractor to correct installation of pavers

The worst experience I ever had with a contractor, would never use again. I signed a contract on 9-2-2015 for the pool, which indicated work would be completed in 4-6 weeks after permit was obtained. I was told it would take approximately 30 days to obtain permit, it took him over 2 months to obtain the permit. The pool was swimmable 7 months later the end of March 2016. Bob made multiple promises throughout the process that work was to be started on a specific date only to have that date come and go, and then give various excuses for why things got postponed. I would make calls to leave messages and was completely ignored for 3 or more days before a call was returned. Bob also screened his calls. I would call from my cell or home number and would get voice mail. As soon as I had a friend call from an unrecognizable number he would pick up, then make excuses as to why he was busy and hadn't returned calls. A few times throughout the process Bob indicated he messed up and this is why things were not progressing. He was never on the job site when the sub contractors were working and did not communicate properly between the subs as to what had to be completed. Our spa was suppose to have 6 jets, sub initially installed 4. Pool itself was suppose to have two lights , initially only set for one. I had debris sitting in my yard for over 6 weeks, constantly requesting to have it removed , Bob always indicating he was working on it, but it never got done. The pool itself was initially made with a bowl shape design rising approximately 1 foot in the deep end and sides , until I questioned shape and was told this is the way we build all of our pools, this was corrected after I questioned design. Buyer beware after contract is signed Bob always wants to be paid in advance for work. Bob never takes responsibility for anything , always making excuses, one time even blamed me for him not meeting a deadline. Bob never took the time to explain how any of the pool equipment worked or how to manage the system. The subs Paul and Ishmael did good work, they explained issues clearly and tried to accommodate all requests when items were brought to their attention. The final result was a satisfactory product, but the path to get there was a total of 9 months of misery until all items completed and final completion from county.
