Review: I have been trying to contact Aqua Vitae Spa for months about the following. I bought Aqua Vitae Spa's [redacted] local deal on February **, 2013 for Six Laser Hair Removal Sessions on a Large Area. I bought THREE of these and the total was $567.00. When I came for the first treatment, I was charged $232 dollars more in taxes. I should not have paid ANY additional amount. During my first laser treatment with Aqua Vitae Spa, the equipment kept breaking and there was no difference in the hair on my legs afterwards because the machine was not working. It was after the session that I realized what I was charged in tax. I was charged as if I bought the six sessions separately and if I went back for all three packages I would be charged $232 for every six sessions. This is illegal. I bought the deal on [redacted] and should not have been charged any additional fee. In addition, the equipment was broken when I came. I have contacted Aqua Vitae Spa several times since this date and am told it has no email address and am told it's the person's first day on the job yet it is always the same person who answers. I am then hung up on. Messages go unreturned. I finally located an email address on a privacy page of the website but the email is returned immediately because the mailbox is full. I contacted [redacted] and they gladly refunded my purchase of $567, but after contacting Aqua Vitae Spa many times, I still have not received my credit of $232 dollars for the illegally taxed amount.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded the illegal amount of $232 in taxes I was charged without my consent. I should not have paid any additional amount for the $567 I paid to [redacted] for its local deal. Even if that was the case, there is no way it would have totaled $232. Upon researching the spa, it appears that many sites, such as [redacted] and NY Mag agree that this place has questionable business practices. http[redacted] I would like my refund check to be a certified check or money order made out to me, [redacted]. I do not trust them with a regular check.
