I am writing this letter in response to Case # [redacted] which on May 23, required additional information.? The paragraphs that follow are organized according to the general points of concern raised by the student, and include our institution’s follwith the Veterinary Technology students.? ? Course Catalog As indicated in the first response, the course catalog outlines the program and prerequisites for a program as approved by our accreditation bodies.? Broadview University utilizes employees, subject-matter experts, program advisor committees and industry experts, to assess and provide feedback on curriculum including, but not limited to, course sequencing.? The course catalog does correctly indicate VTExternship as having a prerequisite or concurrent requirement of VTDentistry.? The prerequisite for VTDentistry is prerequisite or concurrent with VTand VT259.? The student’s interpretation of the course catalog as indicated that since a student can take VTwith VTand VTcan also be taken prerequisite or concurrently with ? ? VTand VTwithin the second six weeks of a quarter that the student should be able to take all four courses within the same quarter.? The VTcourse can be taken with either VTand VTor VT297, but VTand VTcannot be taken the same time as VT297.? If this were the case, the course catalog would list the prerequisite for VTExternship as prerequisite or concurrent:? VTAnesthesiology, VTSurgery, and VTDentistry.? Broadview University has course sequencing and prerequisites defined in order to ensure students have prerequisite knowledge to be successful in their courses, as well as to ensure, animal safety within the Veterinary Technology program ? Institution FollMichael [redacted] , Campus Director- Layton campus, met with the veterinary technology students on Thursday, May 26, 2016, regarding potential solutions to students concerned regarding completing the program at the Orem campus.? The institution is allowing the students to choose which solution works best for each individual student situation.? As it relates to this complaint, one solution is to allow students to take their final few courses concurrently with their externship.? Students who opt for this solution will understand failure or withdrawal from a course will result in the student being transferred and completing courses at the West Jordan campus.? Additionally, the externship site will clearly understand that since the student is completing their final courses, the student would not be completed all essentials skills prior to externship.? Finally, the program chair will verify each externship site and assure that hours can be completed at each site.? ? At this time the school is making every effort to ensure that during the teach-out of the veterinary technology program that the rigor and academic program is held to the highest standard while also accommodating the student request ? ?

student claims that Globe University has lost their license to teach and has poor customer service The paragraphs that follow are organized according to the general points of concern raised by the student, and include our institution’s response to each specific point. Accreditation The student indicates that Globe University has lost their license to teach and is still operating. Globe University is still accredited through the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools. The institution has received conditional approval from Minnesota Office of Higher Education to teach-out currently enrolled students for one year. The institution is working on teach-out plans and identifying students who will be able to complete programs within one year. The institution is also identifying students who will take over a year to complete their programs, and will provide those students with alternatives, which may include articulation opportunities. Poor of Customer Service The student indicates that the school has poor customer service due to not providing the student with clear guidance on academic options. Globe University communicates with students as information becomes available. On September 15, 2016, Globe University notified all students of the Minnesota Office of Higher Education decision to revoke the registration of Globe University. The email did include information pertaining to the appeal process and that the institution receiving conditional approval to teach-out, for one year. The student submitted an email on the evening of Friday, September 16, 2016, asking for specifics regarding her situation. The student received a response from the institution on the morning of Sunday, September 18, 2016, indicating that the institution is working through teach-out plans and is also identifying articulation opportunitiesThe institution is currently identifying the teach-out plans for all students. Globe University communicates to students and staff as information becomes available, and encourages students to contact their dean of education or their academic advisor, for specific decisions, regarding their plan. Our institution takes the concerns expressed by current and former students seriously, and we are disheartened by the current circumstances that are happening to our institutionI want to assure you, that the institution is communicating with students as information becomes available, and that our staff is working on specific plans for every student.

claim suggests that Globe University submitted a loan advance from Federal Loans after the student graduated.? I have had the opportunity to research the student’s claims and will provide an overview The paragraphs that follow are organized according to the general points of concern raised by the student, and include our institution’s response to each specific point.? The student claims the school submitted a loan advance after the student graduated.? The former student was enrolled in the Associate of Applied Science ??" Veterinary Technology program at the La Crosse campus.? The former student requested Direct Unsubsidized loans in the fall quarter of in the amount of $5111.? On September 16, 2016, the US Department of Education transferred Globe University from the Advanced method of payment to a Heighted Cash Monitoring (HCM2) method of payment.? The process of HCMaffected Globe University disbursements of Pell Grant, Federal Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized loans, as well as Federal Direct Parent Plus loans paid to students during the time frame of August 1, to December 31, 2016.? Once the reimbursement request was submitted to the US Department of Education it was considered under review.? All affected disbursements were at that time reflecting the review status on the Central loan processing system - Common Origination and Disbursement (COD).? ? On October 7, 2016, the former student completed the Enrollment Disclosure form acknowledging the potential loss of Title IV student financial aid program eligibility.? ? On October 19, 2016, the Direct Unsubsidized loan amount of $was applied to the student account towards tuition and fees, as demonstrated on the student ledger.? On September 26, 2017, the review process for Globe University was completed by the US Department of Education and all student disbursements were at that time updated to disburse with COD, as well as the National Student Loan Data System.? Although the disbursements were under review for an extended period of time Globe University paid the disbursements to students, including any stipend amounts during that time period.? During this time period Globe University awaited US Department of Education review completion of disbursements, as well as the disbursement of the funds on student loan accounts within the loan processing data basesOur institution takes the concerns expressed by current and former students seriously, and we are disappointed that the complainant was not satisfied with her experience at our institutionHowever, as outlined above, we also feel that our institution processed the loan disbursement and notification to students appropriatelyWe do not feel that a refund is warranted If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me Sincerely, ?
