Ara Electric Reviews (2)

Mrs [redacted] provided some of the material herself, which was a flexible track light and an after market ceiling fan remote These are the items that are in question with the ability to install The after market remote has a receiver that must be housed within the ceiling fan canopy Mrs [redacted] was wanting to use this remote to control wall lights, however, there is insufficient room in the electrical box or the light fixture to house the receiver After numerous times of explaining, Mrs [redacted] decided to do something at a later date At this point I recommended a wall mounted dimmer for the lights, she was opposed to that and clearly disappointed we were unable to use the after market remote The design of the storage building is built with the use of a truss system which gives you a vaulted ceiling and an exposed 2xa few feet below The light was to be installed on the 2X4, which would mean only being able to install the flexible track in a straight line unlike the picture on the box To install the fixture with a designed track you must incorporate ceiling attachment points approximately every feet to secure the flexible track in your desired design Upon explaining this to Mrs [redacted] , she assured me that the attachment points I was referencing are decorative pieces only, not needed to install the track After several attempts of trying to explain to her, the process in which the fixture has to be installed she became increasingly disappointed and upset and assured me the fixture was displayed at the store and could be installed in open air I did not see the display in which she was referring to however, many times stores display fixtures without electricity and use string and rope to attach for visual purposes This is not a practice in which I can install the fixture once it is to be energized At this point to defuse the argument, I explained to Mrs [redacted] that we would install everything else and she could install the track light At this point she became enraged and told me that I was disrespecting her and she would not be disrespected in her home It was clear to me that Mrs [redacted] was not listening to reason so to avoid further confrontation I instructed my employees to load and we would leave, telling Mrs [redacted] that she would not be charged for the labor or the material installed at the trim out that day, approximately hours for employees that day but I would not be completing the job As far as the $1,400, the majority of the work: labor, materials, etcwas incurred the initial trip There was ditching to provide power from the house to the shed and the entire shed was roughed in with panels and etc It is a common practice to draw a larger sum at roubecause the material is more expensive and labor more intensive I feel like the hours of labor and material that Mrs [redacted] was not charged at the trim time is sufficient The balance owed at completion was $of which she was charged nothing I have been in business since September 1, 1998, this is the first complaint that I am aware of The Revdex.com has made numerous attempts to make me an active member, stating they have done numerous background checks [redacted] ARA Electric, Inc

receiver that must be housed within the ceiling fan canopy.  Mrs. [redacted] was wanting to use this remote to control wall lights, however, there is insufficient room in the electrical box or the light fixture to house the receiver.  After numerous times of explaining, Mrs. [redacted] decided to do something at a later date.  At this point I recommended a wall mounted dimmer for the lights, she was opposed to that and clearly disappointed we were unable to use the after market remote.  The design of the storage building is built with the use of a truss system which gives you a vaulted ceiling and an exposed 2x4 a few feet below.  The light was to be installed on the 2X4, which would mean only being able to install the flexible track in a straight line unlike the picture on the box.  To install the fixture with a designed track you must incorporate ceiling attachment points approximately every 2 feet to secure the flexible track in your desired design.  Upon explaining this to Mrs. [redacted], she assured me that the attachment points I was referencing are decorative pieces only, not needed to install the track.  After several attempts of trying to explain to her, the process in which the fixture has to be installed she became increasingly disappointed and upset and assured me the fixture was displayed at the store and could be installed in open air.  I did not see the display in which she was referring to however, many times stores display fixtures without electricity and use string and rope to attach for visual purposes.  This is not a practice in which I can install the fixture once it is to be energized.  At this point to defuse the argument, I explained to Mrs. [redacted] that we would install everything else and she could install the track light.  At this point she became enraged and told me that I was disrespecting her and she would not be disrespected in her home.  It was clear to me that Mrs. [redacted] was not listening to reason so to avoid further confrontation I instructed my employees to load and we would leave, telling Mrs. [redacted] that she would not be charged for the labor or the material installed at the trim out that day, approximately 2.5 hours for 2 employees that day but I would not be completing the job.   As far as the $1,400, the majority of the work: labor, materials, etc. was incurred the initial trip.  There was ditching to provide power from the house to the shed and the entire shed was roughed in with panels and etc.  It is a common practice to draw a larger sum at rough-in because the material is more expensive and labor more intensive.  I feel like the 2.5 hours of labor and material that Mrs. [redacted] was not charged at the trim time is sufficient.  The balance owed at completion was $350 of which she was charged nothing.   I have been in business since September 1, 1998, this is the first complaint that I am aware of.  The Revdex.com has made numerous attempts to make me an active member, stating they have done numerous background checks.   [redacted] ARA Electric, Inc.
