Review: Background: On January 15, 2014, I received an estimate from Arbor Tree & Yard Experts to cut down two oak trees, one large poplar and trim two other trees. This would cost $4000. We agreed to this. About two hours later, [redacted] (who claimed to be an arborist) from Arbor Tree & Yard Experts contacted my wife and told her that there were tree bores in seven more trees and that two more trees needed cutting back. He said he would trim up the other shrubs and spray the affected tree stumps to kill the wood bores, also to aerate the lawn (a service they never performed) and to grind the said stumps of trees (they did not do this either). This would cost $4500. [redacted] also offered a six year warranty to trim bushes and trees, fertilize, and remove any fallen trees as needed. They would come every eight to ten weeks to provide this service. This would cost $4000. We paid by check,s the total of $12,500. At end of the first day, Jan. 15, there was still a lot of work to be done even though they started working on another job. [redacted] said that the crew would be back at 0700, Jan. 16. They did not show up until 1000. His excuse was that their truck broke down. They did not finish that day but would back on Friday, Jan. 17. They did not show Friday saying that another truck broke down. They came on Saturday to finish the work and spread the wood chips in the garden. Review: Because of their poor performance on the work contracted and after being constantly badgering to get more money for services they had already contracted for and after researching the wood bores only to find out they were lying to my wife and I, I informed [redacted] from Arbor Tree & Yard Experts that I wanted to terminate the 6 year warranty part of the contract. This was within 3 days of signing the contract. I had tried to call [redacted] but his voice mail was full. I did talk to [redacted] on Monday, Jan. 20 and he said when he would be back in town in four to fives days, he would contact me with the refund. I have tried to contact [redacted] by phone but he does return my calls. My last call was to inform him that I was filing a complaint with the Revdex.com. Hence I am filing this complaint with the Revdex.com.Desired Settlement: I am requesting a certified check for $4000.00 for refund of the six year warranty.

Review: Around 05/24/2013 [redacted] was contacted by Arbor Tree & Yard Experts (door to door) and quoted a price of $6400.00 for yard work for an acre and a half of property. They also contacted her and she hired them around 6/11/2013 $7000.00 about tree work and removal of debris and weeds around fence which was to include a regular (every 4 wks) spraying of weeks. [redacted] states all work listed was done but the regular spraying.

She has tried multiple times to reach company with no return calls.Desired Settlement: [redacted] would like company to honor contract for regulary spraying of yard.

Review: I contracted with Arbor Tree and Yard Experts in December 2012 to have trees taken down and some carpentry work done on my shed and deck steps. The debris from the last trees has not been taken away. I have called and talked to them numerous times - each time they promise to come the next day or that week. The carpentry work they did was terrible. The steps are wrong to the shed and the repair they did on my deck steps - one step is already wobbly and the posts on the railing are crooked. I paid $2200 for the carpentry work and I am going to have to get someone else to do it completely over. They repaired the trim on my shed with the wrong color, didn't replace the vinyl they took off and the doors they built will not close unless I place a brick in front of them. I have called them so much that it is making me emotionally upset and as I look at my yard, shed and steps I am even more upset. I would like a full refund of $2200. This is the worse company I have ever dealt with. They would call me on the phone and in person and harrass me for the last amount of money. I finally got tired of it and paid them the $2200. That day they said they would return to finish everything.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the $2200 I paid to them for the carpentry work refunded. I do not want to deal with them anymore. I have some health issues and do not feel like dealing with them any longer.

Review: Contracted for my 3 retaining walls to be replaced and filled in behind the walls Rebar pins and deadmen to be used. Contract amount $10,000. Was told they would absorb any money over that, butOnly 2 walls done. Another contract for $7,200. Third wall put in and dirt put in between the first 2. Nothing put between second and third.Walls are now rickety and moving. French drain in front doing nothing Water is standing. Water coming between the boards.All money has been paid. My husband passed away in February and this first contract was signed on March 15th. I feel like I have been taken advantage of in this situation. They have been contacted by my lawyer and an investigator from Hanover County. [redacted], owner, has not responded to either me nor them.I have his address in Culpepper, VA, but your system did not recognize that city.Desired Settlement: I have put my house on the market and need to get the walls fixed and/or replaced. I need most of the money back to do this.I have had 1 bid of $14,347. I am waiting on others.

Review: Work was not finished--only half the roof was shingled. I was lied to about truss work being needed--I paid for work that was never needed or done. I was told I had 'BORES" that were eating my trusses and they even showed me handfuls of them. After numerous unanswered calls and being lied to about showing up to finish the work I had another company come to give me an estimate on finishing the roof and they checked the trusses to make sure they could complete the work properly. They told me that there was no damage and that I had been scammed. James Mullins and his cronies deserve to be put in jail. I am not saying that it is not my fault for trusting these people--My husband used them before and the work done was fine.Desired Settlement: I gave these guys 40K and they did nothing for that money, not even finish my roof. I am going to get an attorney and hunt them down...I am in my sixties, my husband is disabled and I work full time. I may not get my money back but these guys should be STOPPED from bilking anymore seniors or ANYONE for that matter.

Review: Contracted with company to remove several trees, to include a large oak, and to remove deadwood from other trees.The oak tree was partially removed and company said they would return to complete removal as well as remove dead wood from other trees. Although given repeated promises and dates when they would return, this has not happened and calls to their number go immediately to an answering machine. Messages left on the machine have been ignored. The issue is now almost a month old.Desired Settlement: Completion of the job, as promised. Failing that, I would like a refund for the woork not completed.

Review: ON 8/15/14, ARBOR TREE & YARD EXPERTS ENTERED A CONTRACT WITH MYSELF & MY HUSBAND FOR TREE REMOVAL SERVICE, TRIMMING AND SPRAYING OF PESTICIDES ON ALL REMAINING TREES. WE PAID IN FULL IN ADVANCE IN THE AMOUNT OF $3000.00. ALL TREE REMOVAL HAS BEEN COMPLETED, HOWEVER, THE SPRAYING OF PESTICIDES WAS NEVER DONE. WE'VE CALLED THEM COUNTLESS TIMES DAILY SINCE THAT DATE, LEAVING VOICE MAILS TO FIND OUT WHEN THEY WILL COME BACK TO SPRAY. THEY FINALLY RETURNED OUR CALL ON 8/21/14 AND ADVISED THEY WOULD BE OUT THE NEXT DAY TO SPRAY ON 8/22/14. THEY STILL HAVE NOT SHOWED UP TO FINISH THE WORK, THEY WILL NOT RETURN MY CALLS, AND ARE NOW RECOGNIZING MY PHONE NUMBER AND PICKING UP AND HANGING UP THE PHONE ON ME.Desired Settlement: WE WANT THIS JOB COMPLETED BY SPRAYING PESTICIDE ON ALL REMAINING TREES ON OUR PROPERTY, PER THE TERMS/AGREEMENTS OF THE CONTRACT.

Review: The Arbor Tree & yard Experts gave me a free estimate on how much my yard would cost landscape, which the quoted price was $3500. I explained that I could not afford that much at one time so they agree to do the work in portions. The first portion was suppose to start the next morning, and we signed a contract that they did not give me a copy of when stated that they would cut the tree limbs back away from the left side of my house and clean the front garden area of my house for $1000. They did not show up the next day and when I tried to call them they hung up in my face and then any other called I made after that went to voice mail. I tried to call them with my house phone but they did not answer that, but they did have a older lady call that number Saturday night to see who it was that called. The only reason I know this is because when they were calling I could hear them in the background. They have not made any attempt to call me or contact me about the services they were suppose to render to the house. They lied and stated that they were registered with the Revdex.com that is why I am filing the complaint. I also informed my housing association because they stated they were also on their website, which when I checked they were not.Desired Settlement: I would like a copy of the contract stating that it was cancelled so I do not have to worry about them coming stating that I owe them money for something they did not due at the appointed time. I would like to be able to find someone else to do the landscaping without worrying that I am breaching some contract that I do not even have a copy of. I would like to cancel whatever contract I signed with Arbor Tree & Yard Experts.

Review: Promise of doing tree work, spraying of trees, cleaning up. Price was given and paid. Work was not completed.Desired Settlement: Would like for company to complete work paid for.

Review: Company refused to finish signed and paid contract: two trees not elevated, only half of the agreed mulching done, did not clean up debris from stump grinding, did not spray for insects, did not remove old shed and stopped in the middle of building stairs going up the hill, stating that work could not be done as contracted. The steps were left in an extremely hazardous state (tripping and slipping). Also several tool ( axe, leaf rake, hard rake and a digging bar) were taken from our shed during the work. Brought the site supervisor Andy over two days after the last time they had shown up to go over the unfinished work. He agreed to finish the work an admitted to having seen the missing tools in his shop. Have not heard from or seen the company in the neighborhood since. They will not answer their phone or return messages.Desired Settlement: Would like the work completed, or a partial refund.
