provides accommodation to all studentsThe housing fee for each program is published on The College of Global Studies website - studyabroad.arcadia.edu and is based on a the costs of a standard accommodationAn additional note explaining any additional fees for housing states: "The housing portion of our program fee assumes self-catered no meal plan), shared accommodations double room)Students in catered housing [meal plan], single accommodations single room) or enhanced accommodations ensuite or other amenities) could be subject to supplemental charges."The complainant's housing placement was based on their preferences submitted during the application process on their "Housing Preference form." On this form, the complainant selected an accommodation which included an additional feeReference to an additional fee was noted on the form at the time of selectionThis additional fee was published as a range between $4,- $7,on The College of Global Studies website-studyabroad.arcadia.eduThis amount of the additional fee was also presented to the complainant in their online application web portal, where requirements and announcements are shared; stating "Students assigned to a residential college and not housed in *** *** housing location of Arcadia Melbourne Center, considered standard accommodation will be billed a per-semester fee for the additional cost of the housing services and meals.”The Complainant was placed in a room with a roommate, in *** *** (an Australian residential College), the complainant's preferred accommodation*** *** has confirmed that, while smaller than the standard size, the room regularly accommodates two students and Arcadia University was invoiced correctly for the cost of the student's room.Information about the complainant's accommodation is available on The College of Global Studies website, which links to the accommodation's own website.In agreement with the complainant's university where they continue to be enrolled as a full-time student, The College of Global Studies at Arcadia University invoices their school directly for tuition and the base housing feeAll additional expenses, including supplemental housing fees, are the responsibility of the individualThis was also noted on the complainant's online application web portal.In response to the issue encountered upon arrival, the complainant was provided a Travel Guide nearly One month prior to departure with emergency contacts and instructions for arrivalincluded were directions for arriving overseas at the designated airport and being met by the staffortraveling to a designated location individually.Trained and experienced staff are always available to support students through their arrival, orientation, Cultural adjustment to their new locale and on-going program.The complainant was contacted directly on December with an explanation of the student appeals processThis standard process provides students the opportunity to apply for a reduction or removal of financial chargesThe Appeals Committee is scheduled to meet again in March An outcome will be shared with complainant at the end of the appeals process.Regards,Timothy BDirector of Student Life and Support Services
