The
work to which *** *** refers was completed on or about June 1, 2015. We did in fact have someone at the house the
middle of June to address the caulking he mentions. For the next three months, despite numerous
attempts by *** *** Representative as well as their CFO via
both phone
message and stopping by their house, there was no response from the *** in
regard to any issues with the work done or final payment being made. As no response was ever received, on
September the CFO filed a claim in Small Claims Court in an effort to
collect the outstanding and significantly past due balance. On October 8, a mediation took place among
*** *** *** *** and the CFO at which time the current claims of capping over
rotted wood and sloppy caulking were raised. In an effort to ensure that the *** concerns were addressed and that
*** final payment was received, an agreement was reached and signed by
both parties that the *** would provide a $2,check to Archer’s
within five (5) days as partial payment on the outstanding balance of $3,400. Once the check was received, *** would
send someone to the *** home to look into the claims made regarding the
rotted wood and sloppy caulking and make any necessary repairs. The $2,check was finally received the
afternoon of October (three days late) as the result of a call made from the
CFO to *** *** regarding payment status. As the check was not received until Friday afternoon, Archer’s was not
able to contact the *** that same day to arrange the visit. However, a call was made to their house on
Monday afternoon the 19th in an attempt to arrange the agreed to
visit. We will continue to reach out to
the *** to arrange the visit, fix any issues and bring this matter to
conclusion

A visit to the house has been scheduled for Monday, April at 10am. Present will be *** *** the Archer Branch Manager as well as a representative from the roofing shingle manufacturer. Once this inspection has been done, it will be determined what if any next steps are required

We have arranged for our local Branch Manager, *** *** as well as a representative from the roofing shingle manufacturer to visit your home this coming Monday, April at 10am. As I noted in a prior response, once this visit is complete, it will be determined what if any next steps are required

We have a record of MrG*** call on March 29. While Archer Exteriors always stands behind it's work, there are channels that need to be followed to ensure proper handling for both the home owners and installers best interest. In this case, Mr*** purchased the house
directly from *** the new home builder. While it is true that *** hired Archer's to install the roof on the house, it is imperative that Mr*** go back through Orleans to have the stated issue resolved. For any work we do for a new home builder like ***, we are required by the home builder that any repair work that is requested to be covered under any warranty must come through them. Thus, as Mr*** is requesting this work be done under warranty and without any cost to him, it must go through *** This process of going through the home builder was explained to him during the phone conversation on March

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I have gone through [redacted] under my warranty for the four times my shingles have blown off and caused 2 leaks inside my home under the warranty. Each time Archer came out and "patched" my brand new roof and stated the shingles should not
blowing off. Five more shingles blew off which caused the second leak in my master bathroo. on 4/4/14. Again going through [redacted] even though my warranty has expired , [redacted] and Archer did not charge me as it was the same spot as before.
Roofer named [redacted] so the shingle in no way should be coming off especially 20 over a short period of time, He indicated there is either a problem with the shingles or they were installed wrong. This is not a one time incident. It has been now 5 seperate occasions when shingle have flown off my house. The builder indicating they had to replace shingles several times before I even moved in during construction. When meeting is set and a solution is agreed up this resolution will be dropped.

The purchase of the house by Mr. [redacted] was made through [redacted], and thus Mr. [redacted] should be going through them in order to have any potential issues corrected.  This is especially true if Mr. [redacted] is looking to have the work done under any warranty that was given by...

[redacted] at purchase.  Having said that, Archer's is in process of coordinating with the shingle manufacturer and [redacted] a time to inspect the roof to determine the current situation.  Once we have this coordinated, someone will contact Mr. [redacted] to coordinate with him.  After this inspection, it will be determined what steps, if any, should be taken, who is responsible for the next steps and whether these additional steps should be covered under the original warranty.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I want to clarify that the reason I placed the complaint on the Revdex.com is because of poor workmanship by your company. When I initially called your company, you denied any responsibility for the shingles coming off my roof.  There are multiple homes in the new development with the same problem.  My neighbor has also put up a complaint on Revdex.com.   [redacted] has also denied any responsibility for the shingles coming off the roof.
If you are truly trying to schedule something with the builder and the manufacturer of the shingles company, I look forward to scheduling a visit.  Until you do this, I remain skeptical since your company has not been very helpful with the issue.

Review: The first line of our contract with archer stated that any rotted wood would be replaced while installing new windows. Instead, the windows were installed hastily, while we were not at home, and the rotted wood was covered up. On top of this breach of contract, they did a very sloppy job with the caulking, and the finished product looks like garbage. It has now been nearly 5 months since the windows were installed incorrectly, and still no resolution to the problem.Desired Settlement: Finish the job they were paid to do

Review: I purchased a new home in [redacted] approx 1yr ago. Over the last 8 months I have has no less than 4 documented repairs on my roof . At least 20 shingles have blown off my roof in the last 8 months including 5 last week and 9 more on the previous repair 3 months ago. This has resulted in 2 separate leaks in my master bathroom which has caused interior damage which [redacted] has repaired. The building supervisor for [redacted] advised me that several shingle had to be replaced on several occasions even before I moved into house. Archer

came to my house last week to replace 5 more shingle that had blown off and caused water damage in my master bathroom for the second time. The roofer informed me about 90% of shingles were on pretty good and the shingles may be defective or were improperly installed. he informed me the shingles should not be coming off at all. I would like a properly installed roof from archer before more damage occurs to my house.Desired Settlement: I would like the improperly installed roof and defective shingles removed and a new roof be properly installed with proper shingles.

Review: Archers Exteriors installed roofs for my house in [redacted] PA. The shingles on my roof started to come off within 2 years of my house being built. This caused leakage and water damage in my home. When I called to tell them the problem, they refused to help due to their one year warranty. However, when I got a another roofer to look at the problem, they verified that the shingles are improperly installed causing failure of adhesive to stick. The wind is going under the shingles and blowing them off.Desired Settlement: This problem stems from improper installation of shingles. I would like the company to fix the faulty shingles.
