Archie's Towing, Inc. Reviews (3)

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I don't believe for one minute that the driver was honest in trying to jump start the car he probably did not hook up the cables right so it will not charge and would make more money by towing the second car. I asked few mechanics at the dealer and they all stated that no matter how dead the battery can be if it is jump started the car should start, but maybe it will not start again after it is turned off. when I asked for a price the driver told me no more than $$because the Lexus dealer is only or miles from this location not $that is why I called the office to double check and see if they would honor what the driver had told me, but I got very rude person on the phone telling me more like yelling at me and saying NO this is our price. I was on the phone with my insurance company and they were going to get me a truck, but when I told the driver he said I have someone in the area right now that will come to you in 5 minutes so you don't have to wait an hour for your insurance, but after I hung up and he was in his truck he said the towing truck will be here in minutes which is about the same time that my insurance company truck told me. when the other towing truck arrived at my location South after Katella Exitmy daughter and I rode with him, I heard the office call him telling him don't drop her car before you get a full payment from her. I was just in tears because of the terrible situation I was in and to top it off getting horrible service and being lied to left and right they took advantage of my situation to make money. I called the owner the next day and explained to him all that happened he listened to me but he did not seem to care much and the end he said oh we will fix what ever is broken and hung up. I also called CHP and told them my experience they stated that they will think twice before calling them again. I have proof from the dealer that the car started by itself they did not even have to jump start it, but to be on the safe side they did change the battery there is nothing else wrong with my caralso after it was towed and the driver left I went to get something for the trunk and there was a lot of scratches on the trunk top on the side of the driver side that was never there before the car was towed, very irresponsible, rude people I will never recommend this terrible towing company to anyone and will follow up with CHP not ever call them in the futureI don't want anyone to ever have to deal with them. Regards,

To whom it may concern, This letter is in response to a customer complaint to the Revdex.com about (Archie’s Towing Inc.) business practices’ and their request for a full refund for services renderedOn June 29th, at approximately 12:pm we were contacted by the California Highway
Patrol to respond to a vehicle accident located on the south bound freeway just north of the Katella Ave exit In the process of loading the damaged vehicle on the right shoulder of the freeway the crash victim’s mother (complainant) pulled up behind our truck at the sceneAfter the typical accident [what to do] info was exchanged with the driver and her mother, it was time to leave the freeway, she then realized her car would not start She asked my driver if he would jump start her vehicle which he did, at no chargeHe tried to jump the vehicle twice but the car still would not startAt this point the customer asked what it would cost to tow her vehicle to a dealership that happened to be beyond our tow service areaWe informed her that we would not go that far and she is welcome to call another company that willShe then asked how much to take it to the closest Lexus dealership which is located approximately miles awayWe informed her it would be $This is where the customer continued to persistently ask for a better priceMy driver informed her multiple times that this is our final price and that for safety reasons a decision needs to be made as they were still on the shoulder of a busy freewayShe finally agreed to the price and to have us send out another truckWe dispatched another driver to that locationWhen my driver arrived, the customer proceeded to try to negotiate a better price with him alsoWhen we again told her $is the final price, she finally agreed and allowed us to tow the vehicle, damage free, to its final destination. So, in the customers original complaint she states that “we were not able to jump start it.” That is correct, but not without trying We put the cables on it and it did not start We gave it ample time to charge and it still did not startAt this point my driver and the customer agreed to tow the vehicle as we are not roadside mechanics and could not further diagnose the problem We did all agree at that time that the car would not startThe car was then towed to the dealershipThe customer then stated “the person who worked on it stated he did NOT have to jump started to take the car into the shop from the parking lot where the car was dropped.” So it clearly had other mechanical issues that was beyond the customers request to jump start the vehicle and my drivers ability and responsibilityMy question to the complainant is…where in this entire exchange do you feel you are owed ANY money back? In my opinion, Archie’s Towing did everything you agreed to as professionally as possible and no monies are due

Dear Revdex.com, After reading the customers second explanation of her complaint, it is very clear to me that this customer is never going to be happyShe is clearly spinning this to make herself out as the poor victim and I'll explain whyI read her rebuttal and it is filled with lies, hypocrisy and inconsistencies. First off she states that the driver "probably did not hook up the cables right so it will not charge..." If you recall, the customer asked us to jump start her car because it would not startWe triedIt would not start. We both agreed at that time the car would not start. Then, later in her statement she says..."I have proof from he dealer that the car started by itself they did not even have to jump start it..." (that means it was not a battery problem to begin with.) How is this my fault? You then state knowing it was not a battery problem..."but to be on the safe side they did change the battery there is nothing else wrong with my car." My question is...why are you not mad that the dealership replaced and made you pay for a battery that you did not need if there is nothing else wrong with your car? Seems to me that you are mad at the wrong businessYour car didn't startWe got you to the dealershipWe are owed the money you agreed to. Next, you stated that my driver gave you a price quote of $to $dollarsThen you called our office and we quoted you $Maybe we were busy..maybe he had another call lined up for him he didn't know aboutFor whatever reason, at that point you could have said no thank youYou didn't. You then said that you were on the phone with your insurance company and they were going to get you a truckWe had one there in minutes (not a bad ETA I must say) yet you still didn't say..No thank youIf you had one coming, why didn't you cancel us when we arrived or before we arrived? We charge that unacceptable price of $rememberYet you accepted. Seems like, time was more important to you than price thenThat's like going to a restaurant hungry then complaining about the price after your belly is full. You go on to state that.."I also called CHP and told them my experience they stated that they will think twice before calling them again."I also called the CHP after reading that and spoke to the officer in charge of the towing companiesHe said that he did remember having a conversation with this customer but he was adamant about what he saidHe wanted me to know that he "said no such thing and that she was obviously mistaken about what was said." He reassured me of our great standings with the Highway Patrol for the past years and would always call me right away if we had a problem[Updateyears and No calls yet.] Finally, you close your argument with..."I will never recommend this terrible towing company to anyone..." The only thing I can say to that is..Thank you
