Archie's Auto Service Reviews (1)

Review: I visited Archie's on 8/2/13 while traveling from [redacted] to [redacted]. My '95 [redacted] LS400 was slowing down on the 1000 ft. hills in **. I thought I was having transmission problems. I stopped in Danbury where an auto detailer recommended Archie's. Archie's concluded that my engine, brakes, and trannie were O.K. but the collector just downstream of my catalytic converters was plugged. They replaced it with straight pipe, after convincing me it wasn't a CAT. On arrival in [redacted], I visited [redacted]. They told me this "rear TWC" (3-way converter) wasn't plugged, was indeed a CAT, and that I wouldn't pass emissions tests without it (today, I had those conclusions confirmed by [redacted] in [redacted] said the problem was actually altitude, and that some older [redacted]'s, despite having EFI, need to have the computer re-flashed when moving to a significantly different altitude. Archie's misdiagnosed this and now I have to replace it.Desired Settlement: I'd like my money back, and am willing to pay for re-installation of the part on my own (the car is still quite loud).I don't have the paperwork in front of me, but I believe the total was $85.
