Mr. [redacted] stopped by with his vehicle
on 03/19/16.
 
After reviewing the wheels on his
vehicle, our representative informed Mr. [redacted] that the dots and roughness
visible on the chrome wheels was called “pitting.” Our representative also let
Mr. [redacted] know that chrome pitting is not covered by any wheel manufacturer
because this condition is a result of neglect.
 
Surface rust, pitting or discoloration
is a direct result of improper maintenance. Chrome is very susceptible to
pitting and flaking if exposed to road salts, acid rain, and other
environmental agents that attack the metal. In this case, we presume the
pitting resulted from the lack of care for the chrome from loose dirt, break
dust and rain.
 
Although Mr. [redacted]’s wheels are not
covered under warranty, we did offer to give him credit for the current chrome
wheels if he wanted to trade them in for new wheels.
