After researching this information, I was able to identify that Mr. [redacted]'s insurance had given us incorrect information when verifying his insurance in January.  The representative told us that extractions should be covered at 80%, when Mr. [redacted]'s plan only pays 50%.  So, when the...

claim was submitted, this created the discrepancy of $151.00 that Mr. [redacted] then received as a bill from us; as it is customary and an industry standard to bill the patient for any part that is not paid for by insurance.  We are sorry that Mr. [redacted] was subjected to such a frustrating series of events.As a show of good faith, we have written off the $151.00 difference that Mr. [redacted] was billed for, so he now has a zero balance with our office.  I also personally reached out to Mr. [redacted] to let him know the solution, and he seemed satisfied with this outcome.
