Myself and the adjuster from [redacted] Insurance met with Mrs. [redacted] to go over the items of concern. It was explained to Mrs. [redacted] that some of the issues that were in question were not caused by the water damage that we were contracted to repair but pre...
existing issues that occur over time or original issues from the construction at the time the house was built. While attempting in good faith to resolve all the issues in question, I was contacted by her insurance agent from [redacted] Mr. [redacted], who explained that she would be happier contracting her painter to finish making the final touch ups. Wanting to bring this issue to a close, I requested her contractor to please put together an estimate of what he thought it would take to make the remaining touch ups or repairs that are still outstanding. Mr. [redacted] emailed me a copy of the contractor estimate that showed a total of $1080.00 but the painter left it opened ended stating that this price may change due to supplies and time needed to finish the work. Being in this field and understanding what it takes to estimate construction work, I feel that the estimate presented to us is extremely vague and leaves me in question of what will follow once these repairs are completed.
Upon all the repairs being completed Mrs. [redacted] had noticed that some brown water would come out of the faucet when it was first turned on and her concern was that it may be sewage entering the line. We set an appointment to see and indeed there was a small amount of brown water that would come out...
of the faucet. I did explain to Mrs [redacted] that the cause might be that with the repairs that were made could have shaken water sediments loose so please give some time to filter out but with it being a pressure line that there is no way of it being sewage. As far as our repairs being the cause would be impossible because we had not removed any of the plumbing or changed the faucet. Mrs [redacted] did wait a considerable time period and once again contacted me regarding the small amount of brown water that was coming out of the faucet when she turned it on. At this time I again explained that we really couldn't be the cause because no plumbing had been changed nor had the facet been replaced. I told her that the cause of the loss had originated from the upstairs apartment and that she should contact the apartment association and have them look into what they had done to fix that problem.I have uploaded a copy of the insurance company estimate that we had worked off of and as you can see, we did not replace any plumbing lines or the faucet, I do understand that this is frustrating for the customer but my hands are tied as far as a resolution to the problem and was hoping that the association could look into the upstairs apartment to find the problem.
