I hate to call a company opportunistic but the word fits hereA couple years back, they put a sticker on my house without askingMore recently, the burner began to fail and they sent out a techI made fairly clear it was likely he couldn't do anythingHowever, he had me call his boss then ran out the door into his truck and drove offSaid boss told me to have the basement professionally cleaned then we'd talkA letter came in informing me Arcuid would no longer service our equipment but would deliver our oilWe were focused on getting out before winter and frankly forgot to call and discuss options so the delivery that happened was entirely on us
After we got a bill for an $fill at a house we weren't even living in, my wife called to cancelThat was a painful call to hearThe representative tried to persuade her to get the hotel we're living in to convert to oilWhat really cheesed me off, however, was I popped the mailbox and found two identicle letters telling the new occupants how much I loved Arcudi's service and offering them a steep per-gallon discountTo be perfectly honest, because of those letters and that sticker, I fully intend to leave a disclaimer behind on a section of chalkboard paint stating we in no way endorse this company/ Oh and if Arcudi claims I am not a customer, note that the account is under my wife's name and she isn't as nice as me

they trying to charge me $250 extra on my last fill of 100 gallons for a service I never asked for and they never provided. I only want oil! I signed up a year ago for their auto fill program. earlier this week my house ran out of oil at 11 pm at night. I ran to gas station to get diesel fuel to last the night and called them asking to send somebody to fill tank asap. in the morning I started calling around and found out they were charging me 45 cents more then most other local companies. so I called them and asked why they were charging me so much more and their reply was they were a full service oil company? I don't know what that means for other customers but I only need oil to be pumped into my tank, nothing else. so I called them up and asked to be taken off the auto fill and to only put the minimum amount in. 3 days later they called and said my debit card was not going thru and I explained I recently got new cards. I asked them what the total was and it was an extra 250 dollars? they said it was part of the service and I got [redacted] and told them I wasn't going to pay an extra 250 dollars. so they argued with me and I told them I will stop by and drop off a check for ONLY the oil I purchased! On [redacted] an unauthorized oil delivery was made to my home. The original contact I had to [redacted] oil was [redacted] to inquire for heating oil delivery, I was told by him that I would receive an information packet in the mail. The day after I received the information packet in the mail (7 or so days after the first contact) I also received an unauthorized oil delivery that was discounted by [redacted] promo they were having. looking back I feel this is a scam tactic to lure in a new customer. I never filled out the contract for service and being the winter I decided to let it go and be happy the oil was here. I payed for 2 more oil deliverys and a service to my furnace. it was some time after my furnace service that I called the company and spoke with [redacted] again, this time about being charged [redacted] for a [redacted] part and during this conversation with [redacted] on [redacted] I canceled any and all future service and oil deliverys with [redacted] oil. On [redacted] an unauthorized oil delivery was made on in the amount of [redacted]I contacted the oil company to complain and all they wanted is to get paid. I didn't order this fuel oil and in fact I had to cancel a scheduled oil delivery from my usual oil provider. with the past service from this company I feel it best to steer clear from this type of business practice.I am not responsible for the oil nor should I be at credit threat from this company.Desired Settlementaccept your losses for bad business practices and leave me and my husbands credit alone. I was sold a service contract by my oil company that they lied to me about what it covers. I purchased a service contract that arcudi energy told me would cover anything that should happen to break. by buying this service contract the price of oil would be more expensive than normal due to the purchase of the service agreement. I was in full agreement with this. I would pay 3.24 per gallon of oil at a fixed price for 1000 gallons. the going rate of oil was approximately 2.64 per gallon if I ordered my oil on the internet cash on delivery. I chose to pay 3.24 per gallon because I was told if anything were to break they would come and fix it free of charge. the expansion tank broke last year they came and replaced it and I was charged for this because they said anything that has to do with water is not covered under the service plan, yet anything else is. now on December XX XXXX I didn't have heat and arcudi energy had to come and they replaced the zone valve powerhead. on January X XXXX I received a bill for this for 217.54. I called again and spoke to arcudi energy and they said this is not covered either. I am purchasing oil way above the cost to have a service plan that when they sold it to me they said it covers everything when in actuality it covers nothing as far a im concerned. I requested to pay the bill and the amount of oil that has been delivered to date and that I wanted out of the service agreement due to them misleading me twice by originally telling me that if anything were to break it would be covered under this agreement but when something actually does break it is not covered. they told me I can cancel my agreement but it will cost me 3.24 per gallon of oil for the 631 gallons of oil which is over $2000 that is remaining on my 1000 gallon budget. this is ridiculous due to me not even receiving that oil yet and them lying to me when they originally sold me the service plan over the phone. I feel it is fair for me to pay what I owe in oil that has been delivered and the cost to fix the zone valve powerhead since they did perform the work however I feel I should be let out of this service agreement due to being misled and lied to about this service agreement. my customer # is XXXXX the invoice number for the zone valve powerhead is XXXXXX. I spoke to [redacted] and I believe [redacted] at XXX XXX XXXX.Desired SettlementThe settlement that I am looking for is to pay for the remaining money I owe on my budget for oil that has been delivered to my home as well as paying for the zone valve powerhead that in my mind should have been free of charge based on what they told me over the phone when they sold it to me. I feel I should be let out of my service agreement due to arcudi energy misleading me when I was being sold the service plan over the phone. I feel it is fair to pay for the oil that has been delivered and the work that has been done to date but I should be free to purchase my oil from a company who is honest to there customers and not be tied into this company who chooses to mislead its customers and charge me over $2000 for oil that hasn't even been delivered.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXXContact Email: [redacted].comWhen this customer signed on with us in October of 2013 we gave him a $100 credit on his account and a free 2 year service contract for his oil burner. We did not sell him a service contract.....we gave it to him for free as an incentive to become our customer. The contract covers the oil burner, it does not cover everything in the home. Mr. [redacted] was provided a copy of a service policy as well that spells out the coverage and terms and conditions. We did a tune-up at no charge (covered under the free contract) on 1-28-14. We did 2 service calls that were chargeable.......zone valve work and expansion tank work - not burner work - we billed for that work.The customer called us to inquire about fixed pricing (we do not promote fixed pricing). He chose to sign a contract to be fixed at a rate of $3.249 per gallon of oil - we sent this contract for 1000 gallons at $3.249 on October 24, 2014 which was signed and returned to us.The customer requested that we break the fixed price contract and we said no. When Mr. [redacted] executed his oil contract that he requested, oil was secured on his behalf at a locked in price through April 30, 2015. This is why Arcudi Energy requires Mr. [redacted] to remain on automatic delivery for his oil through April 30th. After this date, he is free to cancel his account. All of this is spelled out in the oil contract that Mr. [redacted] has a copy of. The expansion tank replacement done in 2013 was never questioned and paid in full. I find it curious that he was also in a fixed price then, however his fixed price was very favorable in relation to an escalating oil market.
