FOUND THIS "COMPANY" RANDOMLY ON INTERNET FOR A DANCE SUMMER CAMP FOR MY 6 YO. MY DAUGHTER LOVES TO DANCE,AND REALLY WANTED TO DO THIS AS AN ACTIVITY DURING HER SUMMER BREAK. BEING THE FATHER THAT I AM, WHO ALWAYS TRIES TO FULFILL MY DAUGHTERS NEEDS/WANTS AND DO WHATEVER TO PLEASE MY LITTLE GIRL, DECIDED TO GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY. MY FIRST CLUE THAT THIS CAMP MAY BE AN ISSUE OR NOT AN "OFFICIAL DANCE GROUP" LIKE SHE ADVERTISED WAS THAT I BROUGHT MY CHILD TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CLASS AND SHE ENDED UP BEING THE ONLY CHILD THAT I SAW VISUALLY..IN THE CLASS, DAILY. THERE WERE TWO OLDER GIRLS OR MAYBE LADIES THAT WERE IN THE CLASS, HOWEVER THEY JUST LOOKED LIKE "EXTRAS". I ENDED UP SEEING MORE OF THEM(THE 2 OLDER LADIES), THAN I DID THE ACTUAL PERSON WHO CLAIMED TO HAVE BEEN THE CREATOR/TEACHER/OWNER OF THE BUSINESS.THERE WAS NO PROFESSIONALISM, NO FORMAL MEET/GREAT, NO ORIENTATION OF WHAT SHE WAS GOING TO BE DOING DURING THE SUMMER CAMP, NOTHING AT ALL. I WAS TOLD THAT I HAD SEVERAL PAYMENT OPTIONS, MONTHLY/BIWEEKLY. I CHOSE BIWEEKLY BASED ON MY PAY SCHEDULE. I WAS TOLD THAT $120 WAS DUE BI-WEEKLY, I GAVE THE LADY $200 CASH TO INITIATE THE AGREEMENT OF SUMMER CAMP. SHE INFORMED ME THAT THE $80 WOULD GO TOWARDS THE NEXT PAYMENT. I AGREED, AND PROCEEDED TO LEAVE MY CHILD WITH THE HOPES&PRAYER THAT THINGS WOULD GO WELL, AND SHE WOULD BE SAFE&LEARN DANCE AS AGREED.AFTER JUST TWO DAYS, I WOULD ASK MY DAUGHTER HOW HER DAY WAS, AND WHAT SHE WAS LEARNING AND SHE NEVER SAID ANYTHING! HER ANSWER CONTINUED TO BE "NOTHING DADDY". I LATER RECEIVED A TEXT FROM "THE OWNER" REQUESTING ADDITIONAL MONIES $500(+) FOR ACTIVITIES. THE NEXT DAY I WENT TO PICK MY DAUGHTER UP AFTER MY WORK DAY,CAME IN THE BUILDING TO MY DAUGHTER LAYING ON A WOOD FLOOR FACE DOWN WITH NO PALATE UNDERNEATH HER, SHE WAS SLEEP ON A BARE FLOOR,NO ONE SEEMED TO CARE OR THINK IT WAS STRANGE. REMIND YOU I NEVER SAW THE OWNER JUST THE 2 YOUNG LADIES FROM THE FIRST DAY. AT THAT POINT I MADE UP IN MY HEAD THAT THIS DAY WAS GOING TO BE HER LAST.Desired SettlementTHIS "OWNER", HAS BEEN TEXTING ME REQUESTING AN ADDITIONAL $50. SHE CLAIMS ITS THE TERMINATION FEE FOR ENDING THE CAMP AGREEMENT EARLY. I DO NOT AGREE TO THIS,& NEED THIS LADY TO STOP CALLING HARASSING ME. I GAVE HER $200, SHE NEEDS TO TAKE THE FEE OUT OF THAT. I DONT AGREE TO HER REQUESTING ADDITIONAL MONEY SINCE MY DAUGHTER NEVER COMPLETED THE 2WEEKS THAT I PAID FOR. THE PLACE IS NOT SAFE THERE IS NO CURRICULUM LAYOUT. SHE NEEDS A CLASS ON BUSINESS 101. I NEED HER TO STOP CALLING ME! Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] CEOContact Phone:[redacted]Contact Email:[redacted]To Whom It May Concern, After reviewing all of my text messages, emails and phone calls here is my response to Mr. [redacted] accusations.Mr. [redacted] statements are in bold and my response to those statements underneath. FOUND THIS "COMPANY" RANDOMLY ON INTERNET FOR A DANCE SUMMER CAMP FOR MY 6 YO. ...Regarding how Mr.[redacted] found the camp, the summer camp was not listed on the internet. At that time I was still working on the website with the team I hired for the upcoming season for Fall 2015.To my understanding, Mr.[redacted] learned of the camp through the child's mother. On April 10, 2015,the mother and I began talking about her daughter attending camp.On June 4, 2015 the mother met with me at my studio to sign her daughter up for the entire summer camp (June 15th to August 14th).The camp is originally $250 bi-weekly, I asked the mother if $150.00 bi-weekly would be reasonable so her daughter could attend the camp.Among other things, the mother was having financial difficulty and was also concerned about having to provide food during the camp for her child.I understood, and as a means of trying to help the mother, I lowered the payment fee to the following: $25.00 placement fee, $25.00 registration fee, $20 for summer camp t-shirt and $125.00 bi- weekly for the camp sign up.She agreed and signed her child up for camp.During this time Mr.[redacted] name still had not come up. ... I cannot respond to the type of father that Mr.[redacted] is as I have only talked with Mr.[redacted] a day before camp and then meeting with him personally the day of camp. However, the enrollment and pictures of the camp that I have can ensure that my business is official and it is incorporated.Further, Mr.[redacted] was not the responsible parent picking up the child every day.He only picked up the child just a couple of days out of the week, usually before and after instructional time.He did not make any effort to come to the camp during the day to see how his child was doing, what she was doing and the other participants in the class.THERE WERE TWO OLDER GIRLS OR MAYBE LADIES THAT WERE IN THE CLASS, HOWEVER THEY JUST LOOKED LIKE "EXTRAS". Again, Mr.[redacted] only dropped off or picked up Mahogany 2 or 3 times during the camp period in which the child attended. One such time was on June 15th for the official start of camp and "meet and greet" that he is referring to in his statement. On that day I had to remind him to sign and date and fill out all forms on the summer camp paperwork as well as the auto draft form he filled out with all his information for payments to be made on time.Mr. [redacted] did all of the necessary paperwork and filled out the auto draft form. Since I recently just learned that Mr.[redacted] will be the responsible parent for payment and at times will be picking up and dropping off the child,I also included Mr.[redacted] in the group emailing list. Note that all parents received the camp brochure along with the camp itinerary on June 1st, 2015. Mr.[redacted] didn't start receiving these emails until June 15th, 2015 when he also got the information upon signing and paying for the first two weeks of camp.Mr.[redacted] fails to state in his complaint that he did speak with me over the telephone, as well as communicated with me via text, on June 14, 2015 and I answered any concerns he had that time. This was the first time speaking with Mr.[redacted] and then June 15 was the first time we met in person when again I talked with Mr.[redacted] and answered any questions he had.The day of camp, I was present and my staff were there as well. The two possible "older ladies" Mr. [redacted] is referring to, are the students also attending the summer camp who are older students. The camp is designed for children up to, and including 14 year old.Mr. [redacted] also again fails to state that he dropped his child off early morning before instruction time when other students have not yet arrived; or, picks up late afternoon when most students have already left for the day.I designed my camp to help those parents who have early work hours, allowing children to be dropped off with adult supervision as early as 7:00a.Pick up time is 5:30p.I WAS TOLD THAT I HAD SEVERAL PAYMENT OPTIONS, MONTHLY/BIWEEKLY. I CHOSE BIWEEKLY BASED ON MY PAY SCHEDULE. I WAS TOLD THAT $120 WAS DUE BI-WEEKLY, I GAVE THE LADY $200 CASH TO INITIATE THE AGREEMENT OF SUMMER CAMP. SHE INFORMED ME THAT THE $80 WOULD GO TOWARDS THE NEXT PAYMENT. ...I do not offer several payment agreements. The only agreement I made was with the mother of the child and later, Mr. [redacted] came in to sign the documents based on that agreement. After Mr. [redacted] made a payment, I sent him an invoice of money owed, however, Mr. [redacted] never said anything to me about the invoice or concerns about payments due.The children are well supervised and spends the majority of the day being instructed on dance techniques. All kids received instructions on dance techniques. Pictures and video are available upon request.I LATER RECEIVED A TEXT FROM "THE OWNER" REQUESTING ADDITIONAL MONIES $500(+) FOR ACTIVITIES. Mr. [redacted] states that he received "a text" from me "requesting additional monies $500(+) for activities", this is a false statement my text records will show no such thing ever took place As a part of my business practice I send informational emails from me regarding the camp prior to the start of camp. Also, on June 9th, 2015, I sent all parents the information regarding the field trips and the transportation to and from for the 8wk summer camp. The original price for field trips and transportation was $575.Understanding this was overwhelming, I searched around and was able to lower the cost and on June 12th, 2015, I sent another email with the decrease of price of $275 to all the parents. Please remember, that I did not have Mr. [redacted] information to send him any email or text at this time. Please note that my dance studio does not have wooden floors. Our floors are carpeted. On the first day, Monday June 15th 2015 all the kids were drained from their long day and during the movie all of them fell asleep on my carpeted floor.I took several pictures of their active day that day and others, but one of the pictures does show all of them asleep on the floor.Again, the parents were informed that day, that a pillow and blanket can be brought to camp since it is a very long, active and academic day, but none was provided for the child from the 15th of June to June 24th, 2015. Mr. [redacted] never asked to speak with me or informed my staff he had concerns.I am always available via phone if I am not at the camp. Please note the child did come the next day, although she left early.Yes, Mr. [redacted] owes additional money for services we provided and for early termination of the contract he signed. His child was in camp for 1 week, 2 days and 1/2 day.Payments are due bi-weekly prior to the next set of camp weeks.Where most parents paid prior to the first day of camp, Mr. [redacted] payment was late due to him paying on the first day of camp. The next payment due would have been the Friday before the next two weeks of camp started.Rather than paying and/or coming to me with his concerns, if any, he decided to pull his child out of camp.As evident from Mr. [redacted] complaint, his lack of honesty and professional courtesy is revealed.I have always treated Mr. [redacted] with respect and dignity in an effort to understand the parents' financial struggles. He has not requested a meeting with me or talked with me about any concerns.Throughout his complaint he states we talked, emailed and/or texted each other, indicating he had my number to contact me about concerns he may have had.He did not do this at any point in time during his daughter's involvement in the camp or after. Please note that although I believe Mr. [redacted] owes Ardried's Movement,in order to resolve this matter amicably, I will not purse the money he owes for his early termination of the contract he previously agreed to. Thank you all for your time and patience in this matter. All times, dates and documents in my statement are available and ready for your viewing when needed.Have a Blessed Day.
