if you're reading this, it is too late to tell you that you are gonna get ripped off. shady, shady, shady. unethical but apparently not illegal bc the towing industry is not regulated. if you go there take someone with you because it does not appear to be safe to be there. MOBSTERS.

District towing showed up to an accident the my son was in on 1/14/2020. They told us they were taking the car to an auto body shop near by named *** 4227 N Elston Chicago IL. I believe the driver was Aldo *** of District Towing. My son connected with *** Body shop to see if an adjuster showed up several times before he told my son the car was not there. After contacting District, he was told that $3,700.00 would have to be paid before they could release the car. The itemization on the bill was fabricated, they started wheeling and dealing and then took it back.

PREDATORS, LIARS AND THIEVES. STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE. They listen to police scanners to find accidents and take advantage of the already shaken up victims. Predatory towing companies such as this outfit will keep your car hostage and charge exorbitant fees to get the car back. In my instance, District Towing did not tow my car where I instructed them to and have not returned my calls to date. I don't even know where my car is at this point and am going to have to file a stolen vehicle report.

I was involved in accident on April 16 when a cta bus cross lines on Lawrence ave and hit my car I was able to park my car on the side where the police office said it was safe to park. I was tooking to the hospital at the time accident while I was at the hospital I receive a call from a which they said they tow my car then send me text me on April 25 call this number and told them I will down there on the 26 to get some things out of my car. On arrive to place I see there is no office or no one to get to my car. So I in up call the number back no answer but a voice mail saying the business hours was between 10am to 2pm I was at the noon I did not sign any paper for my car to get tow. So I in up call 911 then explain what happen and there no to get to my car so police arrive around 1;30 and call the number same voice messages I got the office said this place should be open.the office receive a call like a little before 2 form men name David say they was close for the day.

This company towed my vehicle after an auto accident on 03-06-2019 the manager David told me just 24hours after my tow that the charges were at $2600 for towing. David then informed me that his company has my vehicle at their yard instead of at my requested location. He told me then not to worry about the charges as the insurance company will handle them and that it's apart of their business model to go after insurance money. After arguing with David he agreed that he would lower the cost to $2000... The cost of towing was never disclosed to me at the time of the tow. This company is criminally charging it's customers without their knowledge.

District Towing 7 Recovery INC are involved in over billing me for a tow.The company failed to inform me of the charges they was applying to a tow of my car. They billed me for services that they did not have to do.

My father recently had a car accident on 11/14/2018 . He was sent to the emergency room so he didnt give anybody his consent to take his car. They took full possesion of it. These people are scammers they wont give us our car back and the car is in perfect condition to drive. They told us it was garbage and that its not drivable. Dont fall into these peoples lies telling you that they will help. And dont give them your information either. This place should definetly be shut down all they do is lie to the people who are at no fault.

This company preyed upon a vehicle owner who had just been in a serious accident on a Thursday and led her to believe they were looking out for her interests. When she tried to reach them the next day, District Towing did not respond. The vehicle owner’s insurance company also called District Towing ten times during the 4-hour window it says it is open, with no answer and no response to voicemails. When someone at District Towing answered a call on the following Monday, a person identifying himself only as the manager said the $2,300 bill for towing and storage was not negotiable. That money could come out of the vehicle owner’s settlement. The self-described manager who sounded like he was enjoying toying with people had the nerve to say the owner or insurer should have had the vehicle picked up sooner. District Towing did not answer the phone or return calls to arrange a pickup. They broke down the charges as $250 for the tow, $190 for labor, $190 for cleanup (isn’t that labor?), $190 for strapping and chaining the vehicle (isn’t that labor?), $190 administrative fee, and $250 per day for storage. All of these costs except the actual tow charge are exhorbitant and amount to predatory price gouging. The Revdex.com, the city of Chicago and the Chicago Police Department need to reign in District Towing and Recovery and put an end to its extremely questionable business practices.

Wanted send a note: re a business in your district that is predatory and extorting the good citizens of Chicago and the folks who live here.. The company scans the police scanners along with other towing companies and showed up at a hit and run on Tuesday morning in front of my house. Upon receiving a police report and filing a claim with state farm the towing company agreed to tow the car to the *** Center on *** west ***. They did not they towed it to their shop at *** west *** where they detailed billing which I can show was not accurate based on pictures and refused to release the car to my insurance company without paying over 2000 for charges they clearly didn’t complete nor should they be entitled to. Upon pointing this out they indicated a billing error and changed it to 1260. I spoke with them and they basically said screw off you gotta pay – I hate my job and my boss the owner doesn’t care pay or leave your car here….. The forms they had me sign -- detail charges for services but upon asking them about them labor which, administration clean up debris removal and storage none of which they did but charged me anyway, they indicated they would charge that amount and that this would all be charged to my insurance company. I was on the phone with state farm and the rep indicated it would be covered for normal charges which this 2000 dollar bill for a 2 mile tow clearly isn’t. I am allowed by law to dispute charges not done but billed for a up to 3 days. They would not allow me to do so and also not give me an itemized bill. This is crazy…

I was shocked and likely will continue an effort to focus education on this poor Chicago practice. I wanted to make you aware of the tactics and threats and poor business practice. Your constituents who clearly could afford to pay this nor fight it which I intend to do would demand that this practice stop. They also clearly failed to meet the billing as the statue 18d-120 lays out.

District Towing & Recovery, Incorporation took my car from the accident that I was involved without my consent but with someone else’s. I'm the owner of the car so they had to ask my consent but they didn't as they didn't clarify any fees or anything. I was taking into the ambulance so they took advantage of that. I called them the next day after the accident because I wanted to pick up my car but they lied saying that they were already closed at 14:00. This happened on Friday therefore I had to wait until Monday to get my car out of the lot. Monday came and I went to their lot but it was closed so I called them and I had to wait for half and hour until someone came. I couldn't get my belongings because someone left the car with the keys inside. This happen when the car is driving and is going at 30 miles per hour and the doors luck by themselves. I had to wait another three hours before someone came to the lot but they were lying and as soon as they said they were there I went back to the lot and nobody was there. I called them several times and nobody picked up the phone. Today is Tuesday, I tried to call them many times but they are avoiding my calls so now I can't get my belongings out of the car but most important I can't get the car out of there. My other issue is the amount they are asking. I spoke with them on Monday and they asked me $1300 for fake fees. Now they are not picking up the phone and their lot is always closed so I can't do anything. My bill is adding up without any reason.
