I am a member of a small family farm. [redacted] Farm located in [redacted], Massachusetts. This year we decided to raise 20 turkeys. I looked around for a dependable, reputable, and humane company. I found Arena A & Son's for the processing of our turkey's. We called to make our date for the processing of the turkeys and received the date of November 24th. Soon we realized our turkeys were getting very large and we decided to change that date and on Friday August 31st we called and scheduled a new date for October 27th at 9:00am. We arrived at 9am at Arena A & Sons to be told she had us down for November 3rd at 9:00 am. We went over how we had called and spoke to a male on the phone who switched the days. She explained that her nephew, who no longer works there due to this mix ups may have done that. She apologized for that and offered us to leave the turkeys in her care until the next morning. We had dropped of 19 turkeys because sadly one had passed away months ago because it was lame. She asked if we still had the 20 we scheduled for and we explained that we had 19 now. We unloaded the turkeys in the barn and arrived on October 28th at 2:00pm to pick up. We were going through and noticed one of our toms were missing from the inventory. When we confronted the issue she said there were only 18. Knowing full well we dropped of 19. We are sick about this, our efforts and our turkey had been stolen by someone that works at Arena A & Sons. We left there expressing we want to find out what happened to our turkey and she had no sympathy at all. She must have known what had happened to our tom. We are disgusted that this could happen. How many times has this company done this to someone? Have they always taken a portion for themselves? How could a 35 lb tom just go missing?
