Review: I ordered a dress on Wed 2/26/14 for my daughter's wedding on 4/15/14. The shipping date of my order was 4/4/14 which is very close to the date of the wedding not allowing adaquate time for possible alterations or other possible problems. The turnaround time from order date to delivery, which is noted on my order is 41 days. The shop would not gaurantee that the dress would arrive in time for my daughter's wedding which was well over a month away. With reservations, I placed the order, but then decided 3 days later on 3/1/14 that I should cancel this order and pursue more reasonable options. I had my credit card company call the shop and afer contacting the shop, my card company notified me that they would not cancel my order. I then called the shop to ask why after only 3 days, they could not cancel my order and I was told that the dress would already be on the production line. I questioned that this would be true based on the short amount of time since I placed the order which was only 3 days prior and asked that they check on this for me. They would not follow up with the dress maker to verify that the dress was indeed in the production line. I was told that the sale was final with no exceptions. This NO CANCELLATIONS policy is on my copy of the order but I feel that they did not provide me the assistance I needed in determining that the dress order could not be cancelled by the dress maker. I feel that the shop did not want to lose a sale by cancelling my order and therefore would not contact the dress maker. This lack of consideration and assistance by the bridal shop is not ethical business practice nor is their policy of no refunds, no exchanges and no cancellations. I am sure that from Wed to Sat, the dress had not been processed onto the production line and that the bridal shop could have assisted me in calling for a status but they refused my request.Desired Settlement: The shop will cancel my order with a full refund. If not, I will picket the shop to alert other shoppers to beware of the shop operatiing policies.

THE CUSTOMER WAS WELL AWARE OF OUR ALL SALES FINAL AGREEMENT WHEN SHE SIGNED THE RECEIPT. IT WAS EXPLAINED TO HER THEN, THE COMPANY WE ARE ORDERING THE DRESS THROUGH WE HAVE DONE BUSINESS WITH 14 YEARS. IN THAT TIME THEY HAVE NOT MISSED ONE SHIPPING DATE. THEY ARE ONE OF THE MOST REPUTABLE WE HAVE DEALT WITH. WE ALSO EXPLAINED THAT TO HER ALSO. IF SHE NEEDS CUSTOM FITTING OUR PEOPLE ARE READY TO GET DONE OVERNIGHT IF NEEDED. ONCE WE PLACE AN ORDER WITH A COMPANY WE CANNOT CHANGE AN ORDER WE HAVE TO PAY FOR THAT DRESS. WE DO NOT MIND HUSTLING TO GET A DRESS FOR A CUSTOMER BUT THSY HAVE TO KNOW WHAT THEY WANT. SHE LOVED THE DRESS. SHE WILL LOVE IT WHEN IT GETS HERE ON TIME AND IN HER BUDGET. WE HAVE ONLY MISSED 3 SHIP DATES IN 14 YEARS, THROUGH NO FAULT OF OUR OWN, 9/11, A WEEK OF HORRIBLE WEATHER, CHINESE NEW YEAR WALK OUT.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 9951400, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The company says that they cannot change an order but they did not even try so they were not acting on my behalf. The dress may arrive in time but it is far more expensive than the other dresses I found from other companies I like, And it is arriving just a few days before I need it, which is over a month after I purchased it, leaving an unacceptable period of time for possible alterations which would cost me an additional amount above the already high cost I paid for the dress. I purchased the dress on Feb 26 and it won't arrive until April 9. This company has no flexibililty what so ever in it's business dealings and I strongly regret ever doing business with them.

We have every right to exercise our legal right to enforce this contract which was funded with the understanding that all sales are final. She was explained this when she was bragging how many dresses she returned to Nordstroms and other stores. We told her she cannot do that here if we can get the dress within the time frame she indicated to us at the time of the sale. We cannot stop the process once we agree with our suppliers to place an order with them. If they miss the shipping then we can. She understood that. She also understood that we can get any custom fitting of the dress done overnight if need be. So all we can do at this time is wait.
