wedding date as of right now. If an $8,000 credit can be put toward another event (which more money is due and more money will be made) then why can I not receive my $8,000 back? This is robbery.I have looked into 15 different catering halls within New Jersey and they all go by the same policy - All deposits are non-refundable. Installment payments will be reimbursed if the cancellation occurs 6 months prior to the event.
Review: I booked my wedding on 03/2/14 to take place on 10/11/15. I left an initial deposit of $2,500. The first installment payment was made in January of 2015 - way before the halfway point. As per the contract, deposits are non-refundable. In April 2015, I called to cancel my wedding in hopes to receive my refund of my installment payment of $11,000 for an event that is now not taking place. I gave 6 solid months notice. I am willing to accept the loss of the $2,500. They have not spent a dime on this wedding yet there is no way they should get to keep $13,500. That is robbery at this point. Even if that date is not booked with another event for that HOLIDAY weekend which I am sure they will sell - they are still making a profit.Desired Settlement: Loss of $2,500 - Refund of $11,000 as per the contract
