Review: Airk airline sold me a round trip ticket. My departure date to Nigeria was Feb **, 2015 and my returning date back to New York was February **,2015. Randomly Airk airline cancelled my flight with out any notice, they waited until I attended the airport to tell me that. They claimed that there wasn't any flights leaving Nigeria 2/**/15 they said that the only upcoming flight leaving Nigeria was wednesday 2/**/15 which is not the date they sold me a ticket for. Their website sold me a ticket for me to leave on February **,2015 but they claim they have no idea of that flight. They didn't accommodate a hotel for me to stay in these extra days then didn't allow me to return the ticket.Desired Settlement: I want a refund for buying the ticket and for paying a night in a hotel

Review: I am complaining of excessive airline fees and rigidity. In July, 2015, I purchased an Airline ticket to depart JFK on 12/**/15. After purchasing the ticket, I immediately learned that I could depart JFK on 12/**/15 for the same price that I paid for the 12/**/15 departure. I called Airk Air and requested to change the departure to 12/**/15. The customer service Representative told me that I would have to pay an exchange fee of $250.

Airlines usually have a window of time to make changes to tickets without penalties.Desired Settlement: I would like for Airk Air to change my departure date to 12/**/15 without any penalty.

Review: My family of 6 are on vacation in The Gambia, West Africa. They travelled with Arikair and the tickets were purchased through ITN. I have several issues, listed as follows. 1. Their scheduled returned date was 9/**, however to my dismay there is no flight scheduled this day. 2. Due to the [redacted] in West Africa, Arikair is banned from flying into the Gambia.3. Arikair and ITN are reluctant to provide my family with an alternative. These are the alternatives I am asking for, provide them with another flight, sooner date or partial refund.4. My kids 5 of them have to return to school on 9/*. 5. I want Arikair and ITN "###-###-####" to provide my family with an alternative.6. If I have to buy another ticket with another airline, I want to be reimbursed.Desired Settlement: If Arikair and ITN cannot provide an alternative as agreed upon when I purchased the tickets, then I want them to reimburse me the amount I will pay to bring them back with a different airline.I spent $8,292.80 for the tickets. This for round trip.Now the price being quoted to me is $10,740.00 one way tickets.

Review: My luggage was mishandled by baggage handlers and I filed a damage baggage report a month ago and never heard from the airline again. I attempted to get my bag fixed but was told by the luggage repair shop that there was nothing that they could do and that I had to replace it. I contacted Arik Air several times, via phone and email, I sent them the documents I received from the luggage repair shop along with photos of the bag and still have not received a response from them.Desired Settlement: I want to be compensated for my broken luggage.

Because the business has not acknowledged or attempted to resolve the situation my third party insurance will not settle the claim and make me whole. They are asking for a statement from Arik indicating what they will replace so that they can also make up the difference. Therefore the will not settle my claim unless Arik sends me some for if communication which the have not. After receiving the initial claim and issuing me a receipt they have not responded to phone calls or email with regard to this issue. They are negligent and callous with their customer service.

Review: I purchased a round trip ticket (ticket number [redacted]) from Arik Airlines for passage from Dakar, Senegal to Banjul, The Gambia. The initial part of the passage was used. I attempted to use the return portion of the ticket in September, 2014. I was informed that Arik Airlines was not going to honor the return portion of the ticket because of the Ebola crisis. I was told to make other arrangements for my passage and that a refund could be obtained from New York. I have been contacting their representatives since my return to the USA in september to get my refund of the unused portion of the ticket (one-half of the original price of US$ 324.70), and have had no success. They have been telling me since september that the refund would appear in my account in 48 hours. This stonewalling has continued for three months. I consider this a refusal to live up to their obligation. Arik Air did not provide me with the transportation I contracted them for, and they have not abided with their own conditions for a refund contained in their own contract.Desired Settlement: Refund

Review: I purchased a ticket with ITN leaving IAD airport to PHC, the flight had two different carriers, Ethiopian air and Arik Air. Leaving IAD with Ethiopian airline was smooth with no problem until I got to Abuja where I had to transfer to Arik air to PHC, then that was the beginning of my ordeal or may I say, worst night mare. Flight from ABV (with Arik Air going to PHC) was delayed for more than 3 hours, but I felt well am in Nigeria and will get to my finally destination even though I was late. Now leaving PHC( with Arik Air) to ABV to get my connecting flight; flight from PHC was supposed to leave at 7:30am reaching ABV at 8:30am and my connecting flight with Ethiopian air was at 1:40pm giving me enough time to check out and recheck in again, when I got to the airport, we were told that the flight scheduled to leave at 7:30am was cancelled and will leave at 8:30am; 8:30am came and another cancellation and the Arik air flight didn’t leave until 11:30am and no reason was given for the delay. Getting to Abuja (ABV), before we could check out and check back in; Ethiopian airline already left. I spoke to the manager at Arik air for accommodations and non was provided to me, I was told I had to sleep in the airport until the next day to get the next Ethiopian flight leaving ABV to Washington DC. I had to book a hotel for myself and also the Ethiopian airliner asked me to pay $300 fee in order for me to get into the next flight. My son contacted Arik air about the fee and was told by a supervisor named James( Ext 7007) in their New York office that a schedule change was sent to the travel agency (ITN), so my son did a 3 way call, called the travel agent that sold me the ticket and the Arik air supervisor and found out that he( the Arik air supervisor James) was lying, no schedule change was ever sent, not even for the delay flight from ABV to PHC nor the one that cost me $600(to exchange the flight with Ethiopian air and hotel and transportation) so James hang up the phone on him and would not pick the call again have receipts of all expenses and will provide proof if needed. we tried reaching Arik air again but they will not answer the call and kept hanging it when I say my name.Desired Settlement: Arik air need to refund back the $300 spent on Ethiopian airline due to a delay flight from them prompting me missing my connecting flight, also my hotel expenses and transportation should be paid for as it was there fault my flight was missed and I had to stay in a hotel. And also compensation should be made for all the unnecessary troubles and headaches I had to go through. also Arik air need to get qualified customer service reps both in Nigeria and here in the USA, people that have good customers service, not people that are rude and do not know what they are talking about like James in New York at ext. [redacted] and Sofia at ext. [redacted].
