Thank you for taking the time to voice your complaint as well as allowing us the opportunity to explain our policy and clarify anything that may have been misinterpreted.We apologize for your previous shopping experience at Nick's of ClintonAs a small, family-run business, we take great pride in
the fact that over the past years our family has built our business predicated on providing the utmost level of customer service, while providing the highest quality productWe realize that you have many options as a customer, and we greatly appreciate you choosing Nick's as a preferred merchant.We hand price almost every product in our store in order to help customers from having to search for shelf tags or a scanner to check pricesWe purposefully keep our stores small in square footage, and staff extra employees at all times in order to alleviate situations in which you have experiencedUnfortunately, no matter how much effort we put into the details, we are only human and occasionally mistakes are made.Unfortunately, one of our employees mistakenly mispriced a bottle of *** *** Liqueur Liters at $Our manager did in fact apologize and quietly explained the necessity to charge the correct price of $Hypothetically speaking, if the tables were reversed and we incorrectly mispriced the same bottle at $59.99, we would not demand that to be the final priceInstead, we would graciously apologize, and adjust to the fair, market price of $We have always held steadfast on upholding our moral and ethical values in doing the right thing and in this case charging the fair market price, whether that may be higher or lowerWe are extremely disheartened to be forced to defend our business due to a single person preying on another person's honest mistakeWe firmly believe that no one is entitled to anything except a fair price and know that the overwhelming majority of customers trust that they will always be treated fairly at Nick's of Clinton.Although we strive for perfection, we do not always attain this goalI would hope that we would not lose one of our loyal customers over this solitary experienceWe believe in our Company, and the quality of service, product and price we provide to our customersWith all of this being said, hope that you can understand our pricing structure as we would love to have your continued support in the futureIf there is anything I can do please let me knowPlease feel free to contact me at any time with any questions. *** ***,Thank you for expressing your concerns about your previous experience at Nick'sAll fresh meat products naturally emit gases after processingOur store manager was initially made aware that the fresh ham had remained in the bag from March 28th to March 31stDue to the fact that the
ham had been stored within the plastic bag provided at the time of purchase for an extended period of time, gas had built upThe result is an initial release of the gas and dissipates within minutesIt is a common event with meat products that do not contain any preservativesThe USDA recommends a three dayshelf life on fresh hamsUnfortunately, we were never notified of any issue until April 5th, approximately eight days laterHowever, it is unfortunate that you wished for us to discard the productAfter our store manager explained that the ham had no smell and was still edible, he was instructed to keep itDue to the fact that the ham was returned frozen, it was thawed overnight and inspected further April 6th, the next morning to find no odor and no discoloration.We have previously tried to address this concern through a review site, but have not received a responseWe take pride in always taking an ethical approach in everything we do at Nick'sit is disheartening to read that you think we would put the ham back in the caseUnfortunately, a perfectly good product was discardedWe are more than willing to discuss further, please give us a call at anytime.Sincerely,Tricia B***Nick's of Clinton

I am rejecting this response because:? It is quite obvious to me that Nicks is not going to honor my request.? I am a [redacted]? certified food handler.? I have been purchasing meat products for over years.? It is very rare that I have had to return meat because of spoilage.? I have NEVER in my years of purchasing meat products have been given an explanation of taking the meat out of the bag and exposing it to let the gases out prior to cooking.? Even when I purchased the ham from Nicks of Clinton on March 28th I questioned the food handler who wrapped it how to cook iepreparations.? The workers response was to "go to the internet".The academic response that Nicks of Clinton gave Revdex.com as well as myself was never told to me at the time of purchase.? ? Any consumer with common sense knows that if something smells foul do not take the chance and eat it.? If you go to USDA website they even recommend do not consume the meat.? People get sick and possible die from consuming bad products.? Would Nicks feel comfortable feeding their children, grandchildren a food starting with a foul smell?? Yes, I did remove it from the grocery bag.? Placed it in my freezer to hold to bring back.? Again, I had to purchase another ham for Easter.? I am out of money not Nicks! Nicks I brought other meat from you the same day, stored, prepared and eaten on Easter.? ? I do not make it a habit to file complaints unless justified.? I thank you for the response but this is unacceptable.? ?
