To whom it may concern, All our engine's are stamped and upon installation have heat tab's installed on the block and cylinder head's. No matter if it's a rebuilt, new or used engine, if the vehicle shows sign's... of overheating, all warranty is void. The heat tab on the 2009 [redacted] is melted and show's sign of excessive heat damage. The heat tab tell's a different story than that of this complaint. This is why we use heat tab's and some faq's abot them: . At what temperature do engine heat tabs melt? Gasoline heat tabs melt at 260 F (127 C). Diesel heat tabs melt at 235-240 F (113-116 C) Marine heat tabs melt at 195-200 F (91-93 C) What temperature does an engine have to reach to be considered "overheated?" For gasoline engines, the typical application produced in recent years will have a temperature range of roughly 195 to 220 degrees F. This is considered "normal" operating range. A gasoline engine can be considered to enter into overheated conditions at 230-240 degrees F, with serious damage starting to occur around 250+ degrees F. When *** originally talked to ***, she stated the vehicle was at *** Dealership in [redacted] CT and the vehicle had no oil in the engine. I would like to see the receipt for the services they provided our engine. Furthermore, I have attached a copy of our warranty policy. The vehicle was clearly driven while overheating to the point of serious damage at over 250 degree's. The engine did not malfunction due to normal use. Thank you, [redacted] A-rite Used Auto

Before the police could show up, [redacted] had left our property. Arite Used Auto Parts would happily except the return if the part was returned the way it left our facility. Unfortunately, [redacted] refused to do so and we had to refuse the return.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: the reason that this transmission is being returned is because it was the wrong transmission in the first place. It was a two plug transmission when I requested a single plug transmission for a [redacted] pickup truck. This transmission I received was for a Tahoe. As far as the coupling that they are talking about that goes on the back of the transmission, it was never there when I picked it up. I have absolutely no use for the coupling. Why would I throw away $900 if all I had to do is bring that part with the transmission? This makes no sense. I never became irate and never blocked the driveway. The police were never called and I never refused to leave. I left on my own accord. It now makes a lot of sense why this company has so many negative reviews.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Review: Purchased 1 used engine and installed in vehicle, engine was making noise and called A-rite about problem. I was told engine ran fine for them. They disregarded all my phone calls and have been delaying me for month's now and never return calls inquiring about warranty issue with engine.Desired Settlement: Replacement of engine or full refund

Review: Dear Revdex.com

I am writing to you seeking assistance in gaining restitution for the malfunction in the installation of a remanufactured engine in my 2009 [redacted] which was completed by A-Rite Used Auto Parts located at [redacted], CT [redacted](phone: ###-###-####). The installation was conducted on September 18, 2014. On November 20, 2014 while driving my vehicle, the engine stopped functioning. I had my vehicle towed to A-Rite on December 1, 2014 with the request that they make the necessary repairs to the engine as the installation of the remanufactured engine came with a 6 month parts warranty and the breakdown of the engine occurred 63 days after its installation, which is within the 6 month time frame of the warranty.

My mother, [redacted] and my father, [redacted] both contributed to the cost of the installation of the remanufactured engine. Total cost was $3200. Please see the 2 attached invoices reflecting the deposit given (Invoice dated September 15, 2014- Reference # [redacted]) and the installation of the engine along with notation of the covered warranty (Invoice dated September 18, 2014- Reference # [redacted]). Both invoices have my father’s name on them.

Prior to giving A-Rite Auto the deposit for the installation of a remanufactured engine both of my parents had several verbal conversations with the serviceman at A-Rite in which they described the work to be done and explained that the parts of the engine installation would be covered under warranty for 6 months along with a 30 day labor warranty. Based on their conversations it was the expectation the installation of the remanufactured engine would at minimum include the installation of a reliable engine in which every component was carefully inspected, cleaned, conditioned, and machined to manufacturer tolerance specifications and that all parts would be inspected carefully for any potential hidden damage and to insure that all components were assembled/reassembled efficiently and functioning proficiently along with effectively connecting the other parts of the vehicle such as the exhaust, radiator, cooling and fuel and electrical systems, etc and the engine would meet specifications for oil pressure, compression, and vacuum testing, etc.

Since the date of the work completed on September 18, 2014, I ensured conscientious attention to the needs of the vehicle including but not limited to: driving it a minimal amount of miles (local travel only), paying careful attention to monitor fluid levels, any potential smells/odors, leakages, watching the gauges and light indicators. Prior to the abrupt breakdown of the engine on September 20, 2014 there was no indication that the vehicle was not operating proficiently.

My mother spoke with [redacted] at A-Rite Auto on December 1, 2014 following their inspection of my vehicle and [redacted] explained to my mother that the malfunction with the engine of my car was not covered under the warranty. My mother asked [redacted] if he would provide her with the name of the company that completed the remanufactured engine with the intent of finding out if they would be able to provide recompense for the repairs needed to the remanufactured engine that was installed. [redacted] stated that

A-Rite remanufactured the engine and A-Rite would not make the repairs to the malfunctioned engine under the written warranty. Since A-Rite is unwilling to make the necessary repairs to the engine that they remanufactured and installed, I am seeking reimbursement in the amount of $3,200 which was the amount of money we paid for the remanufactured engine installation.

Respectfully, [redacted] Best phone number to utilize is my mothers, [redacted] at ###-###-#### or if you want to reach me, I can be reached at ###-###-####Desired Settlement: Since A-Rite is unwilling to make the necessary repairs to the engine that they remanufactured and installed, I am seeking reimbursement in the amount of $3,200 which was the amount of money we paid for the remanufactured engine installation.
