I just received my Discus order from Arizona Gardens: The fish were alive and very healthy and have been in the tank for over a week and still doing very well.
I have ordered from this company numerous times over the past few years and always have been very satisfied with their products and service.
Over the past few months I have set up a dozen or so tanks (5g nanos to 150g Freshwater tanks).
Orders placed by the weekly cutoff time (9am Monday Arizona Time), usually shipped out that week, otherwise there were in the Air the next week. All their orders go next day AIR, and I haven't found another supplier who ships next day AIR for less.
Sure it's expensive if you are ordering a small amount of flora/fauna, or if you're ordering larger non-air ship items (contact them to get the ground shipping rate), but Next Day is really the only way you can guarantee live arrivals.
DOA's do happen, but they are relatively infrequent, and [redacted] has always worked with me to get things squared away.
I would say I've got a 90% great condition plants/animals, and only a 10% issue rate - not perfect, but great when dealing with live animals/plants.
My last order with them - 3 dozen assorted plants (Stems and pots), 50 nerites, and 24 True SAE, arrived on time, but I did have 4 SAE DOAs and 3 DOA nerites. Always plan ahead and order 10% more than what you need to ensure any DOA's are covered with the overages.
Overall I've been very happy ordering from Pete over the years, great customer service, and awesome selection of plants and animals.
If you're just stocking a small tank, or need a handful of fish, your better off going to your LFS, but if you are doing a large amount of stocking, AZ Gardens comes very highly recommended.
I used arizona aquatic gardens because of all the advertising they were doing on facebook I regret this decision first off the charged me in full for all products I ordered I paid an extra $48 for shipping and the package took a week and it did not include my entire order however the recipt in the box said please be patient for another box is coming I contacted pete who works for AAG I called 3 times left messeges with no response I e-mailed 3 times with only one response saying to look at the shipping tab on their website the e-mail was not persoanble on the e-mail I felt like it was just a quick copy and paste as the reply e-mail he sent I ordered a specific frans stoffels plant and he sent a broad leafed amazon sword plant I guess they though I was an it and would not notice the difference between the two speices one of the plants I ordered showed up almost dead andin terrible condition as same for the cory cats I ordered that actually showed up one died the water was brown very sub-par for shipping water if you wask me also I was shafted on an online discount I ordered over $125 worth of product and when he only shipped some of the order he took away my discount this business screwed me over in like 6 different ways I will never use them and im waiting for a response about my fish that I already paid for that havent shown up
This was probably the worst online experience I have ever had. 80% of the fish died within a day of putting them in my tank and they looked pretty malnourished when they arrived. Not to mention, half of the order wasn't included in the shipment. When I inquired about this, I received a reply days later saying that the other half of my order was back-ordered. I only learned about this when I actually was able to get a hold of them. When I finally talked to [redacted] and told him that I was dissatisfied with my experience and would be leaving a negative online review if he wasn't willing to help rectify the situation, he completely freaked out and accused me of "threatening him and his family." Buyer beware; really wish I would've read all of the negative online reviews before purchasing. But in all realty, with [redacted] at the helm, I'm pretty sure this company won't be around in a year from now...
Let's face it, you've probably read the reviews online and you're skeptical like I was.
Let me share my experience.
Arizona Aquatic Gardens had fish and plants I couldn't find anywhere else, and I wanted them very badly. I decided despite some negative reviews to give things a shot.
I was honestly blown away by how positive my experience was.
They are a busy company, but I was able to get in contact with the owner. He was very knowledgeable about his stock and what was available. He personally went through my order with me to double check what was available. He then gave me a number that I could text him at to reach him if I had any questions. He was very kind on the phone.
My order arrived expertly packed. The plants look great, all the fish are alive and swimming around, every shrimp is happy. It is obvious this company knows what it is doing when it comes to shipping, I didn't have a single casualty in my very large order. Amazing company to be honest.
