When I wrote my original complaint, I wrote very little so as to just state the facts of the events It seems I need to be more detailed in the events as they occurred
I will address the response from Arizona Discount plumbing in the order of the letter received First off, I met *** at the residence on January 6, late morning I introduced myself as *** ***, daughter to *** ***, Owner of *** Ave(In his statement, *** does not even have my name correct or who I am to the home owner) This is a single family home with a basement, Not a rental home When he arrived, there was a small amount of water in my mothers tub and toilet the downstairs basement was NOT having a problemI made *** aware of this
*** stated to me that he could NOT do anything at that time until the water was shut off for a period of time., He also asked me to call Mohave County office to get a print out of exactly where the septic tank was I told him the septic was working fine downstairs and that I thought it was just a clog upstairs he said he wanted ME to turn off the water and that he would come back after he did another job (sometime after pm ) and he would bring another worker with him, He did NOT tell me that there would be another hourly charge with another worker(Keep in mind, I am a Dental Assistant, not a plumber, I do not know pertinent questions to ask regarding policies and hourly wages for the occupation of a plumber for additional workers) I told him that I had a large trash can and towels should he need them *** did not do any labor to find a "clean out" other than looking at the back yard area, He was only at the residence for approximately minutes, NOT hour minutes I returned to work
By 5:that evening, I was concerned when I did not hear from Arizona Discount Plumbingso I called him and he said he was on his wayWhen *** arrived around p.m.he had a worker with him, I had my letter from the county (enclosed copy ) to show exactly where the septic tank was located
My husband, *** ***, and son in law, *** ***, were both there along with myself my daughter, *** *** and my elderly mother (*** *** who is the homeowner) my husband asked him if he needed assistance in any wayhe declined (in response to ***s comment about no mention of a son or husband to help…why would I hire a plumber if he needed my husband or son in law to help..they are NOT plumbers…how many service workers do you know that ask for your help??) (I just had my carpet cleaned last Saturday by SEARS and the serviceman did not ask for additional help, he performed his job by himself, he also did not tell me that he could not get the stains out of my carpet, he successfully cleaned my carpet and I was satisfied.) *** and his worker came upstairs repeatedly yelling down to each other trying to figure out what to do, he occasionally told my husband and I that he is hitting something and that he felt it was a septic problem and that he could not help us, that our problem was the septic tank, and referred me to call a septic company, *** even tried calling a septic company for us, but it was after hours and I told *** I would call the next day.
When *** *** *** arrived the next day January 7, 2014, (men arrived at the residence and they did not charge me for men, it was a flat fee Which I was aware of before the job) I showed them right where the septic was located, since I had the mapped out location from the county and they opened the tank lid, the worker told me that as soon as they opened the lid they would know if it was a problem with my septic tank because it would pop open and spill out, As they opened the lid, he immediately stated that my septic was fine and in working condition (I am enclosing the receipt from the septic company that states that the septic was in working condition.)
In response to I did not question the invoice from Arizona Discount Plumbing because I thought it was a septic problem based on the fact that Arizona Discount Plumbing could not clear the clog
In response to 8, the only reason *** from Arizona Discount Plumbing called my husband was because after I found out from the *** *** *** that it WAS a clog and NOT a septic problem I called Arizona discount plumbing, talked to ***, and explained to him that not only was it NOT a septic problem like he told me it was… but My husband, *** ***, and son in law, Cody ***, rented a tool from Home Depot and fixed the clog that very evening(January 7, 2014)
On the third day, I contacted *** at Arizona Discount Plumbing… and stated that I was not satisfied and that I felt he took advantage of an elderly woman, he started ranting a raving about how I do not even know how hard it was for him, (***), to take care of his own mother!! He went on to say that His mother could not even turn her head!! and HE had to feed her, *** also went on to say to me that at least my mother, (*** ***) was not that bad and she is able to take care of herself… He said, (***) "don't talk to me about how hard it is to take care of a mother"!! At this point I was thinking I was not dealing with someone who was very stable…*** was not even talking like a professional I honestly did not see how this had any relevance to the situation….I finally stopped him, and asked him if he was going to reimburse me?, *** agreed at that time to meet me the next day, January 9th and that he would reimburse me $ as long as I wrote out a letter and signed it stating that I would not come back at another date and ask for more money I agreed with this and we were going to meet on my lunch hour the next day
I called *** the next day at approximately 11:to meet him with my letter printed out and ready for him to sign… *** told me over the phone to do what I have to do but he was not going to reimburse me after all, He again started ranting rudely, was making statements once again that made no sense and just hung up on me
Again, I believe *** may be a little confused, As you can see in the last pages of his statements, he goes on and on and in my own opinion does not conduct himself in a professional way
This is why I believe *** at Arizona Discount Plumbing is not fit to be someone I would ever recommend to do any plumbing job I am not aware of, nor do I understand what True Love plumbing has to do with this situation His statements do not make any sense or have relevance He treated myself, and my mother poorly, He had the opportunity to resolve this matter very simply, and chose not to.
I asked for what I thought was fair and just, but as you can see by his response, I did not end up with a resolution.

WE BOTH FEEL WE ARE IN THE RIGHT? I WILL SUGGEST WHAT I FEEL IS FAIR FOR THE LAST TIME. I DO NOT WHAT TO DO RESPOND TO YOU JUST TO HAVE MRS. [redacted] PICK MY LETTER APART. I WAS SO LATE WITH MY WRITTEN RESPONSE TO YOU AND WAS TRULY CONCERNED ON HOW I WAS GOING TO GET YOU MY RESPONSE TO YOU. THAT WAS MY MAIN CONCERN. MRS [redacted] COMPLAINED I GOT HER NAME WRONG?  MRS. [redacted] FOR SOME REASON IS ONLY TELLING YOU PARTS OF THE TRUTH. YES SHE MAY HAVE HAD [redacted] COME OUT AND CHECK HER SEPTIC TANK? BUT WHEN I CALLED [redacted] AND ASKED THEM MY CONCERNS THIS WAS THERE RESPONSE. I  1. I ASKED IF 3220 [redacted] HAD A BAFFLE TEE AT THE ENTRANCE OF THE TANK AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY COULD NOT GET INTO THE TANK AT THE INCOMING SIDE, BECAUSE HE TANK WAS ONLY ABOUT A FOOT AWAY FROM THE WALL AND THEY COULD REACH IT. THE SEPTIC WAS UNDER A PORCH. THERE ARE TWO PARTS TO THIS TANK AN INCOMING SIDE AND THE OUT GOING SIDE. THEY COULD NOT REACH THE INCOMING SIDE OF THE SEPTIC THAT I NEEDED TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS STOPPING MY CABLE FROM ENTERING THE TANK? 2. I HAD WORKED QUITE A WHILE TRYING TO MY BEST TO CLEAR THE SEWER LINE. WHO IS TO SAY THAT ALL THE TIME I SPENT TRYING TO CLEAR THE LINE, JUST MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR YOU TO USE YOUR SMALLER SNAKE AND PUSH WHAT I CHEWED UP INTO THE TANK? KNOW BODY KNOWS THE REAL TRUTH. ALL I KNOW IS I DID TRY FOR YOU.  3. I DID GO TO HOME DEPOT WHERE [redacted] SAID HER FAMILY RENTED THE SEWER MACHINE TO CLEAR THEIR LINE. THE LARGEST SEWER MACHINE THEY RENT IS A 5/8 DIAMETER CABLE. FOR $58.00 AND CHANGE FOR A 4 HOUR RENTAL PERIOD. I AM PROVIDING THE PHONE NUMBER FOR HOME DEPOT FOR YOU. 1-928-681-5004 AFTER READING [redacted] RESPONSE, I WOULD GLADLY TAKE ANY LIE DETECTOR TEST BECAUSE THERE ARE TOO MANY INCONSISTENCIES IN HER STORY. WHY DID [redacted] LIE ABOUT TRUE LOVE PLUMBING'S SERVICE CALL TO CLEAR A SEWER LINE TO ME AFTER I HAD ALREADY AGREED TO GIVE A $100.00 REFUND. SHE SAID I OVER CHARGED HER? I DON'T KNOW A PLUMBER IN KINGMAN WHO WILL WORK AFTER FIVE PM FOR $68.00 PER HOUR.  MRS. [redacted] IS THE TYPE OF CUSTOMER AND THE REASON THAT I PUT A STATEMENT ON THE BACK OF ALL OF OUR INVOICES STATING, WE WILL TRY OUR BEST TO CLEAR ALL LINES, BUT BECAUSE WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM IN YOUR SEWER OR DRAIN LINES WE CAN NOT WARRANTY THIS SERVICE CALL AT ALL, NOR GUARANTEE ONCE WE CLEAR IT, THAT IT WILL LAST! SO PLEASE REMEMBER WE ARE JUST SNAKING THE LINES NOT REPLACING THEM! THE REST OF THE STATEMENT BY SIGNING IT, CONCERNS WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE TO MY CABLE OR DAMAGE TO THE SEWER LINE.  I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENS IF I FAIL TO GIVE [redacted] A $100 DOLLAR REFUND. I WOULD LIKE TO CO-AUTHOR A TYPE OF ANGIE'S LIST FOR CONTRACTORS? DOES THE B.B.B HAVE SUCH A DIVISION? I FEEL TIMES ARE CHANGING AND WE ALL NEED SOME TYPE OF PROTECTION.
I WAS CONSIDERING REFUNDING THE COST [redacted] SPENT ON RENTING THE SEWER MACHINE FROM HOME DEPOT BUT I CAN NOT GET PAST THE MIS TRUTHS. I DID NOT FINISH READING HER LETTER; NOTHING SHE SAID MADE ANY SENSE. SHE SOUNDS CHILDISH, LIKE SHE WAS QUARRELING WITH A SIBLING. 
I TAKE HONOR VERY SERIOUSLY. I HAVE ONLY ONE TRAFFIC TICKET AFTER HIGH SCHOOL ON MY CIVILIAN DISCIPLINARY RECORD. I AM A VERY PROUD SEVEN YEAR WAR VETERAN. I WAS ALSO S.E.R.E. INSTRUCTOR WITH AN HONORABLE DISCHARGE. I DO NOT POST IT ALL OVER MY WORK TRUCK FOR A PAT ON THE BACK. BUT I WILL FIGHT FOR WHAT I BELIEVE IN AND I LOVE MY JOB, PROUD OF MY RELATIONSHIP WITH MY CUSTOMERS. I HAVE HAD ARTICLES WRITTEN IN OUR LOCAL NEWS PAPER TO PRAISE MY WORK FROM MY CUSTOMERS. I WOULD LIKE TO CO-AUTHOR A TYPE OF ANGIE'S LIST FOR CONTRACTORS? DOES THE B.B.B HAVE SUCH A DIVISION? I FEEL TIMES ARE CHANGING AND WE ALL NEED SOME TYPE OF PROTECTION.

I WAS CONSIDERING REFUNDING THE COST [redacted] SPENT ON RENTING THE SEWER MACHINE FROM HOME DEPOT BUT I CAN NOT GET PAST THE MIS TRUTHS. I DID NOT FINISH READING HER LETTER; NOTHING SHE SAID MADE ANY SENSE. SHE SOUNDS CHILDISH, LIKE SHE WAS QUARRELING WITH A SIBLING. 

I TAKE HONOR VERY SERIOUSLY. I HAVE ONLY ONE TRAFFIC TICKET AFTER HIGH SCHOOL ON MY CIVILIAN DISCIPLINARY RECORD. I AM A VERY PROUD SEVEN YEAR WAR VETERAN. I WAS ALSO S.E.R.E. INSTRUCTOR WITH AN HONORABLE DISCHARGE. I DO NOT POST IT ALL OVER MY WORK TRUCK FOR A PAT ON THE BACK. BUT I WILL FIGHT FOR WHAT I BELIEVE IN AND I LOVE MY JOB, PROUD OF MY RELATIONSHIP WITH MY CUSTOMERS. I HAVE HAD ARTICLES WRITTEN IN OUR LOCAL NEWS PAPER TO PRAISE MY WORK FROM MY CUSTOMERS. I AM SIXTY YEARS OLD AND HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR FORTY YEARS. 

YOU DO WHAT YOU FEEL YOU NEED TO. I CAN NOT DEFEND MYSELF ANYMORE. THERE IS NOTHING ELSE I CAN SAY. 

AS FAR AS MY CONVERSATION ABOUT MY MOTHER. IT WAS JUST A THIRTY SECOND CONVERSATION OF A SON WITH A THAT MISSES HIS MOM WITH A CUSTOMER THAT I THOUGHT WAS INTERESTED. I MEANT NO DISRESPECT. I COULD TELL BY WHAT [redacted] TOLD YOU SHE WAS NOT LISTENING TO ME ANYWAY.

Dear Alexandria, 

Instead of keeping a professional demeanor, Mr. [redacted], appears to be letting this situation affect him personally.  The original point is that the cost of the service provided was not fully explained and incorrectly represented.  Our efforts to conclude things logically were clouded by the inaccurate assessment of Mr. [redacted].  Upon further investigation by calling in a septic service (by recommendation), it was discovered that our septic system was fine.  My husband uncovered the front of the septic tank under the front porch steps, which was 15 or so feet from the basement wall.  This proved to be immaterial to fixing the problem.  Mr. [redacted] gave a half hearted effort to fix the sewer that was easily fixed the next day by my husband and son in law.  I understand that reaching a common consensus regarding this matter will be virtually impossible.  Our expenses ended up being higher based on the stated findings and expertise of Mr. [redacted].  In my opinion the service provided was below acceptable standards.  Thank you for hearing this issue.

When I wrote my original complaint, I wrote very little so as to just state the facts of the events.  It seems I need to be more detailed in the events as they occurred.

I will address the response from Arizona Discount plumbing in the order of the  letter received.   First off,  I met [redacted] at the residence on January 6, 2014 late morning    I introduced myself as [redacted],  daughter to [redacted],  Owner of 3220 [redacted] Ave. (In his statement, [redacted] does not even have my name correct or who I am to the home owner) This is a single family home with a basement,  Not a rental home.    When he arrived,  there was a small amount of water in my mothers tub and toilet.  the downstairs basement was NOT having a problem. I made [redacted] aware of this.  

 [redacted] stated to me that he could NOT do anything at that time until the water was shut off for a period of time.,  He also asked me to call Mohave  County office to get a print out of  exactly where the septic tank was.  I told him the septic was working fine downstairs and that I thought it was just a clog upstairs.     he said he wanted ME to turn off the water and that he would come back after he did another job (sometime after 5 pm )  and he would bring another worker with him,  He did NOT tell me that there would be another hourly charge with another worker. (Keep in mind,  I am a Dental Assistant, not a plumber,  I do not know pertinent questions  to ask regarding policies and hourly wages for the occupation of a plumber for additional workers).      I told him that I had a large trash can and towels should he need them.   [redacted] did not do any labor to find a "clean out"  other than looking  at the back yard area,  He was only at the residence for approximately 20 minutes,   NOT 1 hour 20 minutes.  I returned to work.

By 5:40 that evening, I was concerned when I did not hear from Arizona Discount Plumbing.. so I called him and he said he was on his way. When [redacted] arrived  around 6 p.m.he had a worker with him, I had my letter from the county (enclosed copy ) to show exactly where the septic tank was located.

My husband, [redacted], and son in law, [redacted],  were both there along with myself my daughter, [redacted] and my  elderly mother ([redacted] who is the homeowner)   my husband asked him if he needed assistance in any way... he declined.  (in response to [redacted]s comment about no mention of a son or husband to help…why would I hire a plumber if he needed my husband or son in law to help..they are NOT  plumbers…how many service workers do you know that ask for your help??)    (I just had my carpet cleaned last Saturday by SEARS and the serviceman did not ask for additional help,  he performed his job by himself, he also did not tell me that he could not get the stains out of my carpet,  he successfully  cleaned my carpet and I was satisfied.)  [redacted] and his worker came upstairs repeatedly  yelling down to each other trying to figure out what to do,  he occasionally told my husband and I that he is hitting something and that he felt it was a septic problem and that he could not help us, that our problem was the septic tank, and referred me to call a septic company,   [redacted] even tried  calling a septic company for us, but it was after hours and I told [redacted] I would call the next day. 

When [redacted] arrived the next day January 7, 2014, (2 men arrived at the residence  and they did not charge me for 2 men, it was a flat fee  Which I was aware of before the job)      I showed them right where the septic was located,  since I had the mapped out location from the county and they opened the tank lid,  the worker told me that as soon as they opened the lid they would know if it was a problem with my septic tank because it would pop open and spill out,  As they opened the lid,  he immediately  stated that my septic  was fine and in working condition.    (I am enclosing the receipt from the septic company that states that the septic was in working condition.)  

In response to 7.  I did not question the invoice from Arizona Discount Plumbing because I thought it was a septic problem based on the fact that Arizona Discount Plumbing could not clear the clog.

In response to 8,  the only reason [redacted] from Arizona Discount Plumbing called my husband was because after I found out  from the [redacted] that it WAS a clog and NOT a septic problem I called Arizona discount plumbing, talked to [redacted], and explained to him that not only was it NOT a septic problem like he told me it was… but My husband, [redacted],  and son in law, Cody  [redacted], rented a tool from Home Depot and fixed the clog that very evening. (January 7, 2014)  

 On the third day,  I contacted [redacted] at Arizona Discount Plumbing…  and stated that I was not satisfied and that I felt he took advantage of an elderly woman,  he started ranting a raving about how I do not even know how hard it was for him, ([redacted]), to take care of his own mother!!  He went on to say that His mother could not even turn her head!!  and HE had to feed her,  [redacted] also went on to say to me that at least my mother, ([redacted])  was not that bad and she is able to take care of herself… He said, ([redacted]) "don't talk to me about how hard it is to take care of a mother"!!    At this point I was thinking I was not dealing with someone who was very stable…[redacted] was not even talking like a professional.  I honestly did not see how this had any relevance to the situation….I finally stopped him, and asked him if he was going to reimburse me?,  [redacted] agreed at that time to meet me the next day, January 9th and that he would reimburse me $100.00  as long as I wrote out a letter and signed it stating that I would not come back at another date and ask for more money.  I agreed with this and we were going to meet on my lunch hour the next day.   

I called [redacted] the next day at approximately 11:30 to meet him with my letter printed out and ready for him to sign… [redacted] told me over the phone to do what I have to do but he was not going to reimburse me after all,  He again started ranting rudely, was making statements once again that made no sense and just hung up on me.  

Again,  I believe [redacted] may be a little confused, As you can see in the last pages  of his statements, he goes on and on and in my own opinion does not conduct himself in a professional way.  

 This is why I believe [redacted] at Arizona Discount Plumbing is not fit to be someone I would ever recommend to do any plumbing job.   I am not aware of, nor do I understand what True Love plumbing has to do with this situation.  His statements do not make any sense or  have relevance.  He treated myself, and my mother poorly,  He had the opportunity to resolve this matter very simply, and chose not to. 

I asked for what I thought was fair and just, but as you can see by his response,  I did not end up with a resolution.
