I did not have a good experience at this business I went to Arrizona Fiber Mill, owned by Rita B***, in December of and dropped off lbs of suri alpaca to be processedI was quoted $to have my fiber washed, picked and put into spinnable rovingI was to pick up the finished product in May Rita requested that I pay half down which was $ In April I contacted her to see how the project was going and how much I owed her Rita eventually responded by telling me that my fiber was unable to be processed but attached a bill to her correspondence to me She claimed that my fiber was "junk." She also claimed that owed her another $ I was confused as to how I owed her any more money If the fiber was unable to be processed then what was I paying for? Rita's invoice stated that I was to pay a total of $to WASH the fiber This was not the original agreement of $to fully process the fiber I refused to pay her for any more work I had already paid $to wash fiber I called other mills and the same amount of fiber would have cost me $to washFurther more, when I returned home and went through the fiber, I found two pounds of alpaca that hadn't even been washed
A fantastic place to visit and shop It was a great experience to see how animal fiber is processed into felt and yarn The owner Rita is passionate about her work and her customers
I did not have a good experience at this business. I went to Arrizona Fiber Mill, owned by Rita B[redacted], in December of 2015 and dropped off 31 lbs of suri alpaca to be processed. I was quoted $620 to have my fiber washed, picked and put into spinnable roving. I was to pick up the finished product in May 2016. Rita requested that I pay half down which was $310. In April 2016 I contacted her to see how the project was going and how much I owed her. Rita eventually responded by telling me that my fiber was unable to be processed but attached a bill to her correspondence to me. She claimed that my fiber was "junk." She also claimed that owed her another $347. I was confused as to how I owed her any more money . If the fiber was unable to be processed then what was I paying for? Rita's invoice stated that I was to pay a total of $657 to WASH the fiber. This was not the original agreement of $610 to fully process the fiber. I refused to pay her for any more work. I had already paid $310 to wash fiber. I called other mills and the same amount of fiber would have cost me $150 to wash. Further more, when I returned home and went through the fiber, I found two pounds of alpaca that hadn't even been washed.
A fantastic place to visit and shop. It was a great experience to see how animal fiber is processed into felt and yarn. The owner Rita is passionate about her work and her customers.
