To whom this may concern:Again we appreciate the [redacted] help in ensuring a fair transaction.I have reviewed the documentation provided by the consumer as well as the consumer's desired settlement.I have seen nothing in this documentation that says Arizona Import Specialists is responsible for the failure of the alternator.We are unable to accept the customer's desired outcome for the following reasons:1. Alternator's are a regular failure component on vehicles in excess of 100,000 miles. Furthermore, they are an electrical component which fails the same way a lighbulb fails.2. If the customer had an issue with the work we had performed, it is all guaranteed at Arizona Import Specialists. We cannot be responsible for spending our money without our authorizing to do so. The consumer's logic bypasses what is reasonable, prudent and widely accepted as industry normal. With all of this said, if the customer is able to prove how we damaged the alternator we will be happy to refund the customer what it would of cost us to replace this alternator under warranty. This would be approximately $200.00 (please see attached document for the cost of the alternator)In order to make this happen, we will need the original alternator that shows how in fact we damaged it.Thank you again for your help in this matter. It is my intent to resolve as fair as possible.

I have read [redacted] complaint and am unclear as to the specifics of what he would like done.

I also have questions in regards to the timeline of events as the dates in the...

complaint do not correlate with the dates of our work orders.

Additionally, in order to proceed, I will need work orders from the repairs from the other repair shop.

Review: Brought car into shop. Told I had oil leak and bad water pump. Great, no problem, very pleased, although I know the BMWs spit oil not really leaks but you know they are the professional so I trust it, no problem! Picked up car after repairs and drove straight home, in no less than 10 miles into my drive the next day, the electronics went haywire, car shut down. Towed car to BMW shop (Sat). Had them look at it (Mon). [redacted] told me it was an alternator problem. Had it fixed.

Question I posed to Owner of Arizona Imports was... could fixing the water pump, or cleaning the engine with water as they did cause this craziness to happen? He just didn't think it could. Next question that I didn't ask.. Did the mechanic at Arizona Imports remove the positive battery cable before the work was started on water pump and cleaning of engine bay? I'm just not confident this was just a coincidence.

Dropped by Arizona Imports today for a different reason as I was near them. Owner does not know who I am as I talked to him over the phone, so I was anonymous. Overly rude again but no idea who I talked to..., although I just had a question about my TPMS. Something is going on there. I just smiled and tried to be as pleasant as possible but after that happened I decided to file this complaint. Two really weird experiences.Desired Settlement: I haven't had time to review this with the [redacted] mechanic but I will be there tomorrow getting an alignment so I will ask what they think I should do. I'm going to do whatever they say as to keep my personal feelings out of this. This is my conversation starter through a [redacted] mediator. I'll know the desired outcome when you ([redacted]) get back to me.
