I took a chance on AZPools & Spa after looking on the internet for a company to re-plaster my poolI spoke with [redacted] from AzPool & Spa and he came out to my home to give me an estimateHe was very polite, honest and he told me what would work best for us and what we did and didn't need with the up grades we discussedWe asked questions, he gave us good answers and he brought styles of pool surfaces and tiles to our home and was very patientWe decided to use his company and the estimate he gave us on that first day is EXACTLY what we paid for our remodelWe were contacted every day to see how things progressed and the owners of the company also came out to see how things were going and to tell us the next stepsWe were NEVER left in the dark about ANYTHING! The work everyone did was excellent and they cleaned up everything and did not damage ANY of our property or our foliage around the poolI can honestly say that this is one of the BEST EXPERIENCES I've had so far regarding any type of remodeling work on our homeI Highly recommend them

I had my pool resurfaced with plaster and within a month, my plaster had stained Before I realized that the plaster was stained, I brought my concerns/paranoia about staining to the owner and I was assured that if I followed his instructions to the "T", the pool would look fantastic The owner, Mike, initially told me to keep the pool on main drain and to brush it twice a day I did that After weeks, he stopped by to add calcium to the pool, a giant 25lbbucket! I was still told not to use the vacuum and to keep brushing it daily, but only brush 3x/day now rather than twice, knowing that it was impossible for me to comply with that, as I work 12+ hrshifts I feel that this request was only to make it impossible for me to meet so that he can "void" the warranty stating that I am to blame for the pool staining After another weeks passed of me just swirling around plaster dust, I asked another pool expert I was told to immediately use the vacuum to eliminate the plaster dust/debris After clearing the bottom of my pool so I can see the actual plaster, it is stained with light brown spots everywhere This was an expensive job that I wouldn't recommend anybody utilizing this company for Save yourself the headache and frustration and use a reputable, professional company!

I own a home restoration business, after using several of the larger pool contractors we found Arizona Pool and Spa Renovations from a referral who owns a real state office in Phoenix. Arizona Pool and Spa Renovations has remodeled about 20 pools for us from simple replasters to complete over hauls including depth changes, removing spas to include into the pool area, complete equipment installs , pool decking , removing and fixing cracked bond beam repairs etc etc. I have never had a warranty repair issue that Mike or Don wouldn't come out and handle immediatley even when the repair wasn't necessarily covered under warranty. Being in the business im in , timing is always critical to get the houses back on the market, they always get projects done within the time frames, and the crews keep the property clean and are very respectful.

We have inspected Mr [redacted] swimming pool on three different occasions each with the same out come. I inspected and noted calcium nodules forming in his pool, I told Mr [redacted] this on the first inspection. Mr [redacted] admitted to me using a steel brush to remove and grind those nodules from the pool the...

result was an area of plaster that he had mistakenly removed from the pool. I then took a second trip to his house after he called and complained again, again I went out, looked for changes still no changes, the calcium nodules were present and the areas he's used the steel brush on we're still lower then the other areas. Mr [redacted] then asked [redacted] my partner to inspect the pool, [redacted] gladly went out and had the same conversation as I had. He told [redacted] he used a steel brush on those spots he was concerned about and the result was a damaged interior. Unfortunately calcium nodules in swimming pools form due to a chemical imbalance, much information is given on the internet about them, but mostly opinions. No one particular source seems to fully understand the nature of calcium nodules. There isn't a warranty for issues on pool interiors involving chemical imbalances. The material and workmanship have a warranty as by law we must abide by and agree with completely. But when an interior is damaged due to chemical imbalances or metal scrub brushes unfortunately we can not warranty the interior. If Mr [redacted] would like , we would be happy to drain his pool when the temps lower in the fall and show him the nodules up close and why using a metal brush on those only worsens the interior condition. We would also be happy to show him an easy way to sand those down very gently without going deep into the interior of the pool. But unfortunately we can not replace his plaster or refund him on this matter.

Spoke with customer on Sunday 12/22/2013 and told him repair crew would be there on Monday 12/23/2013 to complete clean up and other concerns. Crews showed up on Monday 12/23/2013 and completed all repairs and customer concerns.

We had our pool remodeled a year ago and had some issues with this company. They did not correct the problems to our satisfaction and still have one issue that we are trying to get them to take care of that involves the install of the tiles.

Yes, our pool looks wonderful but we question some of their work. had to hire another company come out to fix areas they would not handle after they completed the pool. We are still trying to take care of some problems through the warranty but can't get them to listen and fix.

Review: As the newly applied mini-pebble surface was beginning to cure (June 2012) [redacted], sales manager, the crew chief of the project [redacted] requested for consultation purposes and myself concurred that the lower corner step tops were to be refinished due to the improper installation of the 1" tile ribbon inlays. Since it was the beginning of their busy season I accepted their offer to complete the project in the fall. They would contact me, They didn't. After several calls and equal assurances that the repair crew would call to set up an appointment to complete the project (They didn't........ever) it appeared they had went out of business because my calls were consistently unanswered. Further investigation of their way-west Cactus office convinced me that very well must be the case, office locked, around 2:00 in the afternoon and looking through the dirty windows it suggested they were not ready for business due to the limited, ill arranged/kept office fruniture. However, approximately, 2 years later [redacted], the owner, mistakenly called me. Once again I, re-explained the problem, he, again told me he was in traffic on his way to another account (again) and couldn't make it to my house today but after I told him the completion date he would make sure this time his crew would be there. Nothing. A week later, made another call, again got [redacted], who again asked, "What's the problem"? Again explained but this time he gave me an email address to detail the problem. I did and within 2 days [redacted] called to set-up an appointment to, again, re-inspect that which he had inspected 2 years prior. During the inspection he related to new and old mini pebble adhesion charactaristics and how it would be impossible to match etc, etc. He left saying he'd talk it over with [redacted] and call me. Ten days later, no calls, I called him, left my number and a message(ans. mach.)for him to call me.....................................Nothing.Desired Settlement: I would truely appreciate if the powers that be in this company would display some integrity and simply do what they said they would do!!!!! These steps, honestly degrade the rest of fine work performed by company/crew.

Review: We contacted the subject company, the first time, on August 5, 2013 to have them repair a rust spot on the plaster. They originally replastered our pool 3/14/2011 which included a 4 year warranty on the plaster. We have called several times to have this repaired and the continually put us off and lie to us. Mr. [redacted] has promised that he would have the repair done by Sept. 20th, but when I spoke to him today he denied that he said that and when I pushed him for an answer he hung on me!Desired Settlement: They need to make the repair by Sept. 20th or pay the bill for the people that we have do it!

Response:

I have told the customer numerous times that it is too hot to do the repair during the hot weather months. The pool needs to be drained which means exposing the plaster to the sun and hot weather. If the customer needs to have this done immediately he will need to sign a disclaimer/waiver releasing us from plaster damage to due the heat. We are more than willing to take care of this problem during the cooler winter months and will happily make an appointment with him any time after November 1st of 2013.

Thank you,

All I can say about Arizona Pool and Spa Renovations' response is that it is a bare face lie! [redacted]s never mentioned that it was to hot and that they could not repair the pool until November 1st. What he did keep telling us is that the rain had delayed them but that they would get to it. They never returned a telephone call, we had to keep calling them back and [redacted] would say give me a couple of days and I'll get back to you, but they never did! The only time that [redacted] did call us is the day they received the complaint from you. His message was that he would like to talk to us about getting our pool repaired. We did not pick up the phone and speak with him, as directed.

We had Arizona Pool and Spa Renovations come in and fix a leak problem and add an additional small bench area to our existing pool(a very small project). This project was started on Feb. 22 and was just completed July 10. During the progress of the renovation there was a great lack of communication from the team, things were not completed as requested, items were forgotten and never completed, in general things were done very unprofessional and sloppy. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

We had Arizona Pool and Spa Renovations do our pool in May. We loved this company and the work they provided. [redacted] was great and our pool was done quickly and turned out absolutely beautiful.

I was very pleased with the work that was done to resurface my pool. It was done in a timely manner, the workers were courteous and efficient. All was done efficiently and effectively. Kudos to the team.

Review: Paid for a pool re-plastering, tile cleaning, light replacement and jet nozzle replacements. The tile cleaning is not complete, still missing 2 jet nozzles, and they left pool plaster mess all over my cool decking and scarred my sidewalk dragging their equipment into the backyard. I have been waiting for completion now for 3 weeks. The sales rep ([redacted]) took my call first and has done nothing. Then I contacted the owner ([redacted]) last week and he has done nothing. My mistake was letting [redacted] come to my job to collect the 2nd half of the balance without inspecting first. I paid in cash to get a better deal. Shame on me for not inspecting first but I want what I have paperwork that I paid for.Desired Settlement: Enough said.

Review: My pool was replastered in late 2013 by Arizona Pool and Spa Renovations. It has since developed several spots where the plaster has worn down (developed small indentations) from dime sized to several inches long. The warranty that came with the replastering is for 3 years, which I am well within. Nothing has been done to the pool to cause any sort of damage. Brushing the pool with a wire algae brush that can be purchased at any pool supply store is the roughest thing that has been used on the plaster. I have been told that I need to fix the issue myself. I have been trying to get this handled for almost 3 months now and the "too bad, you damaged your pool and we can't/won't do anything about it" response is unacceptable.Desired Settlement: I want the problem fixed or my money back.
