I had a very positive experience with John, the owner of Arizona Skies. I recently purchased a meteorite ring from Arizona Skies and very happy with how everything turned out. Of all the vendors for meteorite rings, I felt most secure going with John since he takes the time on his website to inform you of the benefits of buying a genuine Gibeon meteorite ring vs. some less reputable jewelers who pass off meteorite rings that rust. That put my mind at ease that I was getting the real deal and didn't have to worry about my new ring rusting. (Plus he sent a nice Gibeon certification as well!) John is quick to respond to e-mails and completely honest about the whole process of creating and pricing of rings. Please do read his policies and care instructions on his website, it will be a huge help to you when it comes time to decide to purchase a ring. Remember meteorite rings are not your traditional ring. While unique and beautiful - they are very limited in re-sizing and returns. Rest assured that he won't send you something imperfect - my first ring cracked while casting and he sent me an e-mail letting me know he is doing it all over again. I greatly appreciate the quality control. Crafting perfection takes time - take my advice and order early to give him enough time to work his magic. In the end, if you go with Arizona Skies you are getting expertise and honesty you won't find at your traditional jeweler. The wedding bands we ordered from Arizona Skies are gorgeous, and far exceeded our expectations. The craftsmanship is second to none, and I know these rings will last a lifetime. I have only dealt with this person as an Ebay seller. He bought a WWII picture from me knowing it might not be an original. I have text from myself to him proving he knew that it might not be an original as I told him it had not been appraised. Now he is demanding a refund. Here is the text of 11/11/17 on the picture where I told him I didn't know if picture was original or not. He also wrote very nasty feedback on my Ebay page. I told Mr Birdsell the following PRIOR to him buying the picture: He asked if he purchased the picture and it was not an original if he could get a refund. You might research his name on the internet; it all makes sense now

My text to him:
"Unfortunately no. I'm not sure whether it is an original or print, poster etc; as it has not been appraised; so it is being sold as is. I'm sorry I understand your hesitation though. Thanks for your interest"

He did not tell PayPal about this text.

I ordered a custom ring from Arizona Skies Meteorites as a wedding ring for my husband. These are my *opinions* about interactions and quality.

I'll start with the good parts: e-mails are answered promptly, rings are fully customizable, ordering through PayPal is easy, using the ring sizers provided ensures a proper fit, and the ring itself is gorgeous (at least initially, I cannot speak to quality over time).

Now for the cons: communication about the progress of your order is lacking in detail, owner is combative and sarcastic if there is a disagreement over e-mail, if your ring happens to not hold up over time you have not recourse (no refunds or exchanges), the rings are very expensive and shipping and insurance are not included in the price of the ring, orders take a long time and ASM completed and shipped my order at the last minute

Overall, I am happy with the product. I think it is beautiful and I am hoping it will last a lifetime. However, I personally value customer service very highly. My personal opinion is that ASM does not display the level of customer service necessary to please customers who are paying a high price for a product that is deeply meaningful.

If I had to do it over again, I would order the same product from a retailer who truly cared about my business and satisfaction, which I do not believe is true for ASM. When I was dissatisfied with an element of their customer service, I felt disrespected and dismissed without any attempt to find common ground.

If you are able to pay a high price, order well in advance, go weeks without hearing the status of your order, and deal with sub-par customer service when a dispute arises, then you may want to consider placing an order with ASM. Remember that you are ordering something that you will be treasuring for decades. It's important that your product is created by people who respect you and value your business.
