Arizona Solar Concepts Reviews (20)

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint yet.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I will accept response once work is completed to our satisfaction in timely manner.I appreciate that ASC will replace new water heater at their cost. I have not heard any details about replacement water heater, warranty and how ASC will cover new water heater. I need to make sure that replacement water heater is same brand or similar quality, size and comparable to product we bought earlier. I need to make sure that ASC check solar panels for any damage that might have caused by tank pressure before leak. I need to make sure that proper procedures gets followed and recommended material used like new ethyl glycol added and not just more water in solar part. I need to make sure that repair is completed, caused by leaky tank and reserved tank.I appreciate that ASC will cover warranty despite [redacted]'s denial. If company truly cares about their customers then they should respond to customer's complains and complete the work to their customer's satisfaction in timely manner. Thanks ASC and Revdex.com for willingness to help us.Regards,[redacted]

Dear Revdex.com, [redacted], et al,

Thank you bringing us together to resolve this issue.  We at Arizona Solar Concepts (ASC) strive to provide the best design, finance, installation and support of solar electric systems.  However sometimes things...

don’t go perfect for our customers, we do everything we can to make it right with our customers.  That being said I just want to clarify the names.  [redacted] I believe is the mother of [redacted] who has an agreement between SunPower (a solar panel manufacturer and finance company) and ASC to provide a turnkey roof mounted solar electrical system.  This is a 0 down 0 payment escalation contract for 20 years that is guaranteed to produce a specific amount of energy that is less than the utility rates that then provides monthly savings that increases each year.  No money was or has been paid to ASC or the SunPower by [redacted] or [redacted]. The agreement was signed on 6/29/2013.  SunPower is responsible for manufacturing the solar panels and providing ASC (the installer integrator) the balance of system items like inverters and roof mounting rails.  It has been a challenge to get them to ship the materials to us in a timely manner so that we can permit and install the equipment.  We received a “Notice to Proceed” from SunPower on October 24, 2013.  We had permitting issues that delayed the installation and inspections dates.  APS had an incentive program at that time and we reserved $915.60 for the customer to be paid to SunPower.  The incentive is good for 6 months from application date and expired.  ASC paid to SunPower $915.60.  We reapplied for the incentive and interconnection to APS with 0 (ZERO) incentives.  During the last few months of 2013 APS and AZ Corporation commission made a change that anyone who applies for interconnection from November 18, 2013 forward would need to sign a waiver.  This waiver states very clearly what has already been in place for rate paying customers.  See attached documents.  It essentially says that the Corporation Commission that regulates utilities at any time can change rates to customers that could change the financial outlook of a solar electric system purchase or finance.  This document is required by the Corp Commission to be submitted to APS before the system can be commissioned into the grid.

The issue of grandfathering is simply that any system that is commissioned before December 31, 2013 will have a new monthly base fee waived until the next rate case.  The next rate case is in 2016 and proposed increases will be seen in mid-2015.  The new fee is .70/kilowatt installed. (9.15kW)  So in this case it adds $6.41 per month until the new rate case.  We propose to pay for this fee until the new rate case since we were not able to get the system commissioned before the deadline.  We feel that paying for each year in one lump sum is going above and beyond for their troubles.  Three years at 36 mos. X $6.41= $230.76  By doing this it makes them cash positive from the beginning.  I apologize if this has caused any problems and want to make sure that all of our customers are treated fairly and are completely satisfied.

Thank you,

CEO/Owner

Arizona Solar Concepts is committed to providing quality products and services to our clients that are long lasting and provide outstanding value.  The issue is currently in process of resolution.  The Solar Water heating system that was purchased by the [redacted] was installed properly and...

has been performing great for years, however the tank began to leak.  This is a manufacturers warranty issue.  Arizona Solar Concepts (ASC) was the installing dealer of a product called [redacted].  A high quality product from a US/German company. ASC and [redacted] partnered with a third party to provide an additional warranty for the systems that would pay the dealer installer for any parts and labor costs for 5 years, in addition to the manufacturers warranty for parts. In 2012 that third party warranty company (Equigard) went bankrupt so the warranty remained standing with [redacted] and ASC.  Later in 2013 [redacted] left the solar market.  [redacted] is still open but is focused on windows.  Any claims submitted to them for warranty claims have been difficult to resolve.  ASC is the only one left standing in a situation like this.  After many attempts we made to [redacted] to get the [redacted] a new tank the final verdict was NO.  In the mean time we have provided the [redacted] with a loaner tank so that they have hot water.  As of 12/15/2014 ASC will replace the tank at our cost ($1,200) and as always there will be no charge for the labor.  As a local installer integrator we have to carefully choose the manufacturers we represent.  Even with assurances like a third party or extended warranty company, it really comes down to the local installers integrity.  We at ASC hope that this demonstrates that we are committed to what we do, even if the warranty company and manufacturer do not. Thank you,[redacted]

Although it was a seemingly kind and thought out response it does not come close to satisfying things on my end.  I have since contacted Sun Power in regards to this matter as it appears that  company, (Manufactures of the solar panels) according to Mr. [redacted] are also responsible for putting me in this bond.  The potential cost to me is thousands of dollars.  This year and for the next 3 years the cost charged to me will approx  6.41 a month, Mr. [redacted] offered to pay up to 3 years.  Its unacceptable.  The 20 year cost at that rate is $1538. However, APS is known for steady increases in fees, surcharges and what have you.  This is why I was so excited to go solar, "20 years of knowing exactly what I would be paying for electricity".  ( A quote from my salesperson)  Over half of an APS bill are  fees.  The cost of electricity is minimal compared to the dozen of fees.  Now because of untimely events of two companies I will be subject to God knows what. APS's first shot at taxing solar and they come out with $6?  This potentially could double in 3 years...or not.  I know 100% it won't go down or away.  So just because APS got a 3 year contract for this fee, it is a drop in the bucket to my 20 year commitment. The declaimer as I mentioned before is like signing a blank check. I may accept $2000 or being totally fair to both sides  ASC pays whatever those fees are for the length of my contract.  It may be less than $2000, it may be more.  Who knows?  Mr. [redacted] declined this resolution, because for him, it is like signing a blank check. Sunpower advised me that they will return my call on Friday, maybe between SunPower and ASC this can be resolved. Also Mr. [redacted] regards me as the Mother of [redacted].  Please note I am the homeowner, I only put my son on the deed because I was instructed to do so by ASC in order to get the contract accepted by Sunpower. I was told it was a joint contract. Once I started inquiring about this disclaimer did I find out it wasn't joint after all. (He is now 19 years old and leaving for the military at the end of April, I would of never subjected him to this.)  The integrity of this company is greatly jeopardized.

Excellent service from Arizona Solar Concepts. The SunPower solar photovoltaic system really works and the energy cost savings are phenomenal. I will recommend both ASC and SunPower for their products and service. Doug Riecks was my solar consultant!

I have attached a letter I wrote to Sun Power (panel manufacturer) regarding the service that I have received from their authorized dealer - Arizona Solar Concepts. My review is not about Sun Power, but of Arizona Solar Concepts. Sun Power has done nothing wrong.

January 2, 2014

Hello,

I am not sure if this is the proper place to submit this to, but I thought I would start here. I would like to let Sun Power know of the experience I am having with one of their authorized dealers.

Back on July 11, 2013, I signed a lease agreement with a company called Arizona Solar Concepts in Tempe, Arizona. Their sales rep, [redacted] Field, did an excellent job representing the Sun Power line of solar panels as well as the leasing options available through Sun Power. I have been researching solar power for my home for the past five years and after listening to [redacted] on July 11th, I was sold on the Sun Power line of panels and signed a contract before he took off that day. On my Installation Agreement with Arizona Solar Concepts, the estimated installation date is listed as August 1, 2013.

[redacted] had informed me that the process of getting solar installed in Arizona would take some time and that the first two to three months of the process Arizona Solar Concepts would be working “behind the scenes” with their engineers, my utility company and my city building department to design the solar system for my house and submit all plans for approval to the proper authorities. October 11, 2013 was the target date to have everything approved and all equipment received for installation. (Not sure what the August 1, 2013 estimated installation date mentioned above really meant.)

On September 27, 2013, I contacted Arizona Solar Concepts for an update on my project status and was informed that the equipment would be in on October 11, 2013 and that the city of Glendale, AZ approval would be coming shortly after that. This was the last time I heard from anyone at Arizona Solar Concepts until I called them in mid November 2013 asking for another update. At this point, I asked for “someone who was in charge” and could give me some answers. I was put into contact with [redacted] Taylor who is the owner of Arizona Solar Concepts. [redacted] was not sure why nobody had contacted me to schedule the installation of the equipment and apologized for the lack of information being shared. [redacted] then proceeded to schedule my installation for December 2, 2013 and informed me the installers would arrive between 7 – 9 AM in the morning.

Around noon on December 2nd, I finally called [redacted] Taylor to find out why the installers were not at my house to install the solar equipment. Later on that day, [redacted] had [redacted] O’Laughlin (Arizona Solar Concepts Project Manager??) contact me to tell me that there was a “mix-up” and that they would need to reschedule my installation for December 4th.

From December 4 – 6, a two man installation team had worked on installing all of the equipment including 36 Sun Power Panels at my house. Besides the sales rep, these two individuals are the only bright spots that Arizona Solar Concepts has going for them. I talked with these two gentlemen (one of the guys name is Aaron and the other is some exotic Egyptian name if I remember correctly) and they had modified some of the locations of the equipment being installed just by listening to my concerns. I was really pleased with the job these two gentlemen had done.

On December 12th, the two installers and another gentleman by the name of Jason from Arizona Solar Concepts stopped by to switch out some breakers in my main electrical panel, have the city of Glendale perform the required inspections and switch out the main breaker from 200 amps to 175 amps with the assistance of my utility company. The city of Glendale inspector stopped by and red tagged an item and waited a good hour for the utility company to show up for switching out the main breaker. The utility company never showed up this day and it was decided that Arizona Solar Concepts would come back later to fix the red tagged items by the city of Glendale and to switch out the main breaker. I informed the Arizona Solar Concepts workers that I would be traveling from December 15 – 18 and they would not be able to perform any of these actions during this time.

To my surprise, my wife called me while I was in a meeting in Chicago Monday morning, December 16th, stating that Arizona Solar Concepts was at our house to fix the red tagged items and switch the main breaker!

On December 23, 2013 at 7:16 AM, [redacted] sent me an email stating that they could stop by and fix the red tagged item. I did not have a chance to respond to that email and [redacted] finally did call me a few hours later to see if they could come out on that day. I informed [redacted] that I was not available on this day (December 23) and scheduled them to come out on December 26 at 8 AM.

Around 11 AM on December 26, I called [redacted] Taylor to ask them why their installers were not at my house as agreed upon with [redacted] on December 23. [redacted] had no answers for me other than apologies. I told [redacted] to get back with me when they had a new game plan put together and that I wanted him (Clint) to also show up at my door with the installers. [redacted] agreed to that demand.

On December 27th, I received an email from [redacted] apologizing and stating that there was a miscommunication in his company regarding the December 26 missed appointment. He further stated that he could have his installers at my house during the morning of December 30. I responded back stating that I was not available in the morning and that I wanted them to show up at 2 PM on December 30.

Surprisingly, the installers from Arizona Solar Concepts arrived at my house at 12:30 PM. After talking with the installers, I found out that they came earlier in the morning, but I was not home. I would also like to point out that [redacted] Taylor did not come with his installers as promised to me on December 26. I decided to let the installers perform their tasks of fixing the red tagged items and told them that I appreciated their work, but the rest of their office staff needs a lot to be desired.

As of December 30, I am still waiting for the main breaker to be changed, a re-inspection by the city of Glendale, and for my utility company to sign off on the solar system installation.

On January 2, 2014, the City of Glendale inspector rang my doorbell asking if the main breaker had been switched out. It appears that someone from Arizona Solar Concepts called in for the final inspection, but there was nobody here from Arizona Solar Concepts or my utility company to switch out the main breaker. The inspector left and will come back when called again.

UPDATE: January 16, 2014: At approximately 11:30 AM APS showed up to pull house meter so AZ Solor Concepts could switch out the main breaker. AZ Solor Concepts was not here so I called [redacted] - got his voicemail and left a message. I sent APS on their way.

UPDATE: January 16, 2014: At 12:01 PM Arizona Solor Concepts arrived to switch out the main breaker. Stated they asked APS to be here at noon. They are calling APS to see if he can come back.

UPDATE: February 6, 2014: APS commissioned the solar system and turned it on.

Update: February 17, 2014: APS switched out the meters. A representative from AZ Solar Systems was also present and noted that the Ethernet cable for monitoring the solar system was not installed between the monitoring box and the inverters. He said he would let his office know that this still needed to be done.

Update: February 27, 2014: AZ Solar Concepts arrived 1 hour 15 minutes late for an appointment. This appointment was to set up the monitoring of the solar system. I asked the AZ Solar Concept rep if he was going to run the Ethernet cable from the monitoring box to the inverters – he was not aware that this was not done and could not do it. The system is still not set up for monitoring.

I am writing this letter to Sun Power to let them know that I am severely disappointed with the customer service that I have received from one of their authorized dealers. I have been waiting for my solar equipment since July 11, 2013 and as of December 30, 2013, I am still not generating any solar energy. Arizona Solar Concepts is not a very well managed company as you can see by the missed appointments and inspection times. I feel that Sun Power should have a good thorough review of this authorized dealer because they are putting a bad image out in the market for both Sun Power and the solar industry in general.

Another major disappointment that I have is the missed opportunity to make a few extra bucks by referring friends and family to get Sun Power Solar Panels installed through Arizona Solar Concepts. I cannot in good conscious refer anybody to Arizona Solar Concepts due to the issues that I have experienced. My wife and I know a lot of people who have contacted us about solar since finding out we have gone down this path. Since my only option for earning referral checks is through Arizona Solar Concepts, I guess this opportunity is gone.

I will, however, continue to speak well of Sun Power. Even though we have not been able to use your product as of yet, we have purchased shares of Sun Power! The research that I have done on Sun Power makes me proud to have American made panels on my roof.

As I stated earlier, I wanted to let you know about the experience that I am having with one of Sun Power’s authorized dealers. I have been waiting for my Sun Power system to be installed since July 11, 2013 and while it is now on my roof, I am still not generating power.

Please feel free to contact me to discuss this matter.

Review: Last July I signed a leasing contract for a solar system with this company. The Salesperson was honest with me stating that APS was in dispute with the Arizona Corporation Commission and if any changes regarding fees or net metering were to be made I would be grandfathered in. Wishing for an energy efficient home, I also did an energy audit ( recommended by Arizona Solar Concepts) and completed all recommended services. I.E. sealing ducts, replacing vents and new insulation. I was told by mid October I should be up and running with my rooftop system. For whatever reason the install was delayed and a bit untimely, however, by the first of the year I was set and waiting for turn on. Soon after the installation was complete, I got notification from APS that my reservation has expired. Not sure what this meant I contacted [redacted] from Arizona Solar concepts and he said not to worry he will resubmit it. After that I got notification from APS requiring that I sign a disclaimer regarding new fees and other costs associated with my new system. This disclaimer needs to be signed before I can get the system turned on. Apparently, I am not grandfathered in because all details of the project weren't completed by December 31st. I am at a deadlock. I tried working with the company. My salesperson no longer works for them and the manager is unable to help me. I was told to contact the owner however several messages were left on my behalf and no calls have been returned. APS won't agree to grandfathering me in, the company isn't helping me. I am a solar system up and ready but no where to go. [redacted] the sales manager offered to pay current charges/fees up to two years that APS currently will now be charging me with my new system. He said after two years (verbal) that we could revisit the situation. Please note that this offer was only given after he realized I mistakingly I was provided the additional pages to the disclaimer that states ( the ACC decision) what fees APS will be charging. Prior to that I was just told that I need to just sign it and really there were no changes, it is the same contract I have always had being an APS customer. Whatever the heck that means! That is not acceptable.Desired Settlement: I have a contract for 20 years. What am I suppose to do with the other 18 years? I feel by signing this disclaimer with APS is like signing a blank check. I feel like Arizona Solar concepts should pay the full 20 years and add an exception to my contract that any fees from APS associated with this lease will be paid for by them. If the work was completed by December 31st I would not be in this situation.

Response:

Dear Revdex.com, [redacted], et al,

Thank you bringing us together to resolve this issue. We at Arizona Solar Concepts (ASC) strive to provide the best design, finance, installation and support of solar electric systems. However sometimes things don’t go perfect for our customers, we do everything we can to make it right with our customers.

Thank you,

Please note I am the homeowner, I only put my son on the deed because I was instructed to do so by ASC in order to get the contract accepted by Sunpower. I was told it was a joint contract. Once I started inquiring about this disclaimer did I find out it wasn't joint after all. (He is now 19 years old and leaving for the military at the end of April, I would of never subjected him to this.) The integrity of this company is greatly jeopardized.

Apparently PROFESSIONALISM is not one of Arizona Solar's Stronger attributes.

In May of this year I signed an agreement to have Solar Panels Installed and would lease them for a certain number of years.

After their analysis of my usage of electricity, they came up with a figure as to what costs would be and how much I could save. It sounded reasonable to me and I was told that there was a time deadline so that I should make up my mind rather quickly. I was sold on the idea before they even got here because they were referred to me a a friend who is on their plan.

After the 8 weeks went by and not having heard from them, I gave them another month and then attempted via computer and telephone calls on no less than 6 or 7 occasions to get an answer from them as to when the installation would start. All I got was lip service as to whom I should speak with - and was told my two people that a guy by the name of [redacted] would be back in touch with me right away, they they told me how to reach him. Three calls to him, three messages left for him and NOT ONE OF THOSE MESSAGES has been returned and it's just another week gone by with no idea as to what is going on.

A review on [redacted] and with the Revdex.com shows that EVENTUALLY they'll get back but their record of Professionalism is severely lacking in this area.

Review: Please see attached.Desired Settlement: Please see attached.

Revdex.com, [redacted], et al,RE: Response to Revdex.com Complaint dated April 30, 2014 [redacted] is acustomer of ours that bought a solar electric system and financed it through [redacted] whom is also the manufacturer. Arizona Solar Concepts did not sell or install a solar water heater on his home. That work was done by another company. The complaint actually says “Going Green Solar” not Arizona Solar Concepts, we are suspecting that this complaint is not for Arizona Solar Concepts or [redacted]. To help with his situation we can share that he leased a solar electric system for 20 years with a fixed payment (no escalation) for $91.80/mos. (-$7.50 for ACH $84.30/mos.) This arrangement saves him money each month since the solar energy cost less per kWh that Utility Power ([redacted] and [redacted] guarantee the production and performance of the electric system for twenty years. Our current monitoring of his system shows that he is at 97% and increasing. Each year [redacted] and [redacted] evaluate the system performance and if it falls below it guaranteed outputs both ASC and [redacted] pay the customer for any shortfalls. We do not expect that his system will be less than 100% by his first year of production. He did not make any payments to [redacted] until after his system was turned on. His system was commissioned into the Utility grid on or about June of 2014, so in June of 2015 we will evaluate along with weekly monitoring reports. We hope that this information helps with the complaint.Sincerely,[redacted] CEO

Review: I signed a lease agreement for a solar plan in January 2013. I was promised by [redacted], they're sales person that came out to my house to get me started, that the system would be installed and operation no later than April 2013. He emphasized that he would do everything possible to get it turned on in March though. [redacted] approved my reservation in January as well. After hearing nothing from the company I emailed them in February. They told me that they were still waiting on the parts for the install. Finally, an install date was set in March. However, on the day it was scheduled no one showed up and no one called. So again, I had to make contact in order to find out what was going on. A few days later the solar panels were finally installed mid March. After no communication again, I emailed to find out what was going on with a turn on date. I was told to call [redacted], as that is who supplies the product and lease. Apparently, I was waiting on an approval from them. With zero communication from Arizona Solar Concepts, unless initiated by me, my [redacted] reservation is cancelled by [redacted] due to expiration. This obviously got me more frustrated and I let them know. Soon after that I was informed there was an issue with the City of [redacted] review and they would to make a change to my electrical panel. I approved those changes and was told someone would come out to perform the change. Again, I was subject to a no call, no show. So I had to email again to find out why. No good excuse was given, but it must have sparked something because they came out the day after I emailed with another apology. In August the [redacted] reservation was again approved. Also in August, I let several people in the company know that I was going to file a complaint with Revdex.com if my system was not operation by the end of August. I received a couple emails from [redacted] regarding my application, an amendment, and lastly an approval on September 5th. I have not heard from Arizona Solar Concepts since August 14th. Now, almost midway through September, they are more than 7 months past due on the install date I was promised. Unacceptable. I tried everything I could do as far as emails and phone calls in order to resolve this issue and nothing has seemed to help this move along towards completion. Arizona Solar Concepts doesn't seem to care that they extremely over promised and under delivered.Desired Settlement: I would like my system turned on ASAP. Or, I would like an option from [redacted] to use a different company to complete what Arizona Solar Concepts can not.

Response:

Dear Revdex.com and [redacted],

Let me explain and apologize for any delays in the project. We signed up and promised target installation dates to our customers during that time based on the information that our lease partners gave us. We had been through times when it took 6 months to get materials and sometimes another 2 months to get PTO (permission to operate) which let’s us turn the system on. We were told this was not an issue any longer and 3 months would be an average window. We applied for permit and were ready to install in March. Every Effort was made to get materials delivered so that we could install in March. There was a difference in the Target installation date and the actual installation date. Our apologies if this caused any inconvenience. Our customers receive a project flow email that maps out the steps in the process from start to finish. Sometimes we are in a position like waiting for the utility company to commission a system or for a Notice to Proceed NTP from the leasing company. If there is ever a question that a customer has they can call our project manager directly for status updates. Our whole project process is different than any other trades due to so many approvals from so many agencies. Some Cities impose changes to our designs that exceed NEC electrical code. We try to anticipate these changes but the local inspector has the final call and we will perform any changes that he/she deems necessary to obtain approval. We had to do an upgrade to the panel and breaker that was not anticipated. This was an additional cost that ASC did not pass on to the homeowner or the leasing company. Delays with rescheduling the City for inspection and the Utility [redacted] to be there at the same time is difficult. The reservation application with [redacted] is good for 6 months, after that time we must reapply. We did that in addition to providing [redacted] the revisions that the City required. [redacted] has accepted the revised design; the project has received clearance “Green Tag” from the City. We are currently waiting for [redacted] to commission the system (let us know we can turn it on). We are 11 days into the 14-21 days this normally takes for them to do this. The solar programs that we offer have had enormous popularity. It is always a challenge to be in the middle of things we cannot control. Mr. [redacted] has not been asked to pay anything until 30 days after the system is running. His 20 year lease with [redacted] does not start until that time. He will not lose any benefit of the system. We apologize for any delay that has happened during this project. We strive to improve our business process and have implemented a new CRM that gives automatic updates to our customers even if that update is that we are just waiting. Again, thank you for your patience and we will be here monitoring yoursystem to ensure your production.

Review: We purchased solar water heater from Arizona Solar Concepts about three years before. Has full parts/labor warranty for seven years from the purchase date. There is leak from water heater detected in end of October. [redacted], company's repair person came on October 24th, 2014 and evaluated leak problem. Per him, water heater needs to be replaced. He told me that company owner [redacted] is informed/aware and he will get back to me with plan. I did not heard back from anybody for few days. So, I called [redacted] back and as per him, he will remind [redacted] again. I waited for some answer back. Finally I did emailed to company customer service and received email that someone will contact me. I did left message to call me back on company voicemail, no response. I emailed them back requesting resolution of water heater issues on 11/19/2014 and requesting response by 11/21/2014, still no response. I need Revdex.com help for satisfactory resolution in timely manner. Thanks.Desired Settlement: Arizona Solar Concepts did no responded back to me so far at all since problem reported on 10/24/2014 despite my emails. voice messages. They need to replace water heater in timely manner.

Response:

Arizona Solar Concepts is committed to providing quality products and services to our clients that are long lasting and provide outstanding value. The issue is currently in process of resolution. The Solar Water heating system that was purchased by the [redacted] was installed properly and has been performing great for years, however the tank began to leak.

Response:

My complaint covers several areas of service with this company, outlined below-

- 10/2014 Salesman [redacted] states my [redacted] with solar will be $15-$16/month and therefore see higher savings. I understand over time there may be an increase in some general fees/taxes in accordance with APS, but 10/14 stated it would be $16/mth. Rec'd my first month's bill with all solar energy used and it is $32.50. [redacted] says that will be my monthly invoice , no way to lower it than that. That difference was primarily be where I was going to save on my monthly electric costs. I now will be paying a few dollars more this year by going solar, based on 2014 energy usage. -10/2014 Salesman [redacted] says 3-4 month install time frame. I signed 10/21/14 and my first day of solar panels producing solar energy was 4/6/15, almost 6 months. I understand many entities involved with this process, but AZ Solar Concepts did not keep me very well informed at all and at times I had to follow up with [redacted] as AZSC was not.

-10/2014 Salesman [redacted] says "referral" bonus of $500. I refer a friend, [redacted] nowhere to be found, AZ Solar Concepts pays only $200. -4/2015 [redacted] was scheduled to come out to change out the meter to start running the panels, but AZSC tech did not have the proper documentation out there onsite for them to do so. We had to have [redacted] come back out after AZCS finally did get the proper docs out onsite, wasted another week after waiting 5 months already.

-5/13/2015 I sign into my online monitoring and see 1 of 2 inverters has shut down and is not working as of 5/12/2015. I call SunPower and they call and leave a message for AZSC to send a tech out to repair. I call AZSC 5/14 to be sure a service call is in place and will be repaired soon. I get the runaround, person will follow up with the tech service dept. to see if they are working on it. She will call me back by eob 5/15. Shocker, no call. I call today 5/18 and she again follows up with service dept. and first available slot is 5/21. First of all I had to discover the error and report to both entities and now it will be 9 days before it is addressed and "hopefully" fixed. Time and time again it has been a lack of follow up and customer service on the side of AZ Solar Concepts. My unit has been operational 5 weeks and already an issue and it takes me discovering the issue and reporting it to get someone to correct it and when I do it will be 9 days to a service tech coming out, 1/3 of the month already. They rest on the "annual guarantee" of production and that Sun Power will pay the difference if it under performs, but the bottom line is "as the salseman" will also tell you, the guarantee is a low ball figure based on 8hrs of sunshine per day and the system really will perform well above that over the course of the year. So, this 1/3 of the month issue will cause me production loss, but nowhere near enough to dip to their "guarantee" rate.

Review: I was sold a lease for a solar system that was suppose to be installed and running with in 45 days it is now going on 130 days.I could have gone with another company but chose to go with them only because of the time frame of installation and running time. this company and there supplier have continued to not return my phone calls e-mails. I asked for them to give me information and they keep avoiding me. I have lost several of hundreds of dollars with out the system running and payed for insurance on the equipment now that they don't even know if I need. I have ask for some type of reconciliation and compensation for the delay. this business is now on the brink of going out of business because Arizona power systems APS is trying to shut them down. If I can not get them to communicate with me at this level how can I count on them to provide warranty assistance.Desired Settlement: I want them to finish the job and warranty the product with also some type of compensation. Answers to the question of the insurances requirements. Compensation could include payngi for the insurance if needed for the first year. And make my first 6 months of payment for all of the stress and undo grief they have put me through. If they can not agree to those terms then they need to remove the product and fix my home like new the roof and out side wall they have damaged. NOT REPAIR, REPLACE.

Revdex.com and Mr. [redacted]

This matter is almost complete. Mr. [redacted] and I have been playing phone tag for weeks. Email seems to be a better option. Please see the latest correspondence from me to Mr. [redacted]. I think that we can have this worked out by the end of next week. He is scheduled to be turned on with [redacted] on Tuesday November 19th.

Letter;

Mr. [redacted]

I have read you email and regarding the issues at

hand. I apologize for any lack of communication on our side. I have

called your number and left messages and offered you my personal cell phone in

the message. But somehow we have not been able to talk. The line is

open to call me directly, the last number you gave was 6[redacted]. I

think it has too many digits. My number is ###-###-####. I am not

trying to hide behind [redacted] or anyone else. The last two days have been

especially difficult as I have been down at the AZ Corporation Commission

defending you and all of our other solar customers. You will be

grandfathered in under the existing program but the new adopters will have to

pay a little more and the ones after 2016 rate case will have to pay more than

that. I know that there have been delays in the installation of your

system, some were out of our control and some were our fault. We are the

most regulated unregulated industry I know of. I know that [redacted]

was your consultant. He may have promised the moon, please share with me

anything in writing regarding the installation and commissioning dates.

[redacted] is no longer with us. I am very concerned regarding the insurance

issue. [redacted] we have never had any customer add the solar system to their

policy on a leased system. The leasing company insures the system.

You are not required to insure the system. For [redacted]’s mistake I have no

problem paying the $50 in additional premium but please do not renew you policy

with that double insurance. I will not be able to continue to pay

for that. Regarding the delay in commissioning, I am happy to look at the

date [redacted] promised versus that actual date we turn it on. At that time

let’s come up with a fair amount the reflects what savings you have

missed. But I cannot do this until we commission the system. We

don’t get paid until we turn the system on. I am sure you know

this. Let’s get this system turned on and work out something fair.

I want your final satisfaction to reflect in the open Revdex.com complaint as well.

Thank you,

Review: I met with solar aconcepts in November 12. Signed contract. Everything was installed 7 February, 2013. We have not heard from them since. I keep calling the office. Was told that they were out of $ until July????????. No explanation. Called [redacted] and was told that paperwork had not been submitted to [redacted]. ten days ago, someone came to our home to say that there was an additional paper that needed to be signed and that it would be installed immediately. Have heard nothing since. Five months and we are still not able to utilize the solar units on our home and all the equipment installed. No communication other than the person that came to the house said that everyone had been fired for incompetence and it was a mess? Beware Do not know what is happeningDesired Settlement: Either get us connected or remove the equipment. five months of unknown delays. poor communications.

Response:

Dear Revdex.com, [redacted],

I am writing in response to your Revdex.com complaint. We strive to have completely satisfied customers and maintain an excellent quality installation of our solar panels and equipment. Mr. [redacted] signed an agreement between Arizona Solar Concepts (ASC) and [redacted]. ASC is the installer integrator that facilitates the financing documents, designs and installs the solar electric system. [redacted] is a solar panel manufacturer who also provides financing to residential customers through a lease agreement. Customer gets solar panels installed, they generate electricity for a lower rate than the utility and they save money. No money is paid from [redacted] to ASC or collected from customer until the system is up and running. There are several steps throughout this process that are in the hands of the Utility companie and the leasing company([redacted]).

Mr. [redacted] signed up for the program in November 12'and was installed within our 3-6 month window to install. This is normal since [redacted] is a manufacturer and this program is very popular. This installation on site only took a couple of days. However there was a delay for Mr. [redacted] and for ASC. We were waiting to receive a "Notice to Proceed" (NTP) form the leasing company. Once this is received we can call for city inspection. There was a lack of communication on our part during this window that I was not aware of. Due to the increase in jobs we hired another project manager, this manager for whatever reason did not keep up on status updates with some of our customers. Once we replaced that manager with more competent help, Mr. [redacted] was notified about [redacted]'s July NTP date. We know this is a lot of time from installation to turning the system on, we want these systems turned on as soon as possible too. It costs a lot to operate a company for that long without payment.

Status update as of today July 26th. We are meeting the Utility company ([redacted]) on Monday July 29th to wrap up some mounting details per [redacted] request. We expect to have the system turned on at that time. 30 days after that Mr. [redacted] would have his first payment due. He has paid nothing to [redacted] or ASC yet for the work we have done.

Mr. [redacted] I would like to apologize for any lack of communication on our part. We have made some staff changes an electronic status updates to our process to ensure that no one feels that they don't know where their project is. I think this will show transparency for ASC and [redacted]. If you would like any more details about this project, feel free to contact me directly.

Thank you,

CEO

One of the best company’s I have had the pleasure to do businesses with. Signed the paper work at the very end of September 2014 and had my system up and running the first week of December 2014.

A few shout ours to the team.

First my Sales agent [redacted] was excellent, very knowledgeable and was able to answer any question I had. He was quick to respond and treated me like he truly valued my business. I would recommend anyone call [redacted] up and set up time with him.

Second I want to thank [redacted], he came out did the site visit and was extremely helpful in answering all my questions. Very easy to work with, he by far is the right person to be interacting with customers.

Third I want to call out the install crew, both guys did a great job installing and answering my questions about the system. They were professional and top notch at their job.

Fourth I want to say how awesome the owner [redacted] was, he truly is a great business partner to work with and looks out for the needs of his customers.

Lastly a comment on the system itself, it’s a fantastic system from [redacted] top tier solar system. It has surpassed expectations in every way. [redacted] ALL THE WAY!!

If I was to do this again I would pic Arizona Solar concepts all over, they are fast, friendly and do a great job. I have been able to get out of the clutches of my power company because of them. Everyone should pick [redacted] with Arizona Solar Concepts

Arizona Solar Concepts is a certified designer/installer of customized solar systems for Sunpower Corporation, California. My residential solar panel system which included electrical, inverter, monitor and roof installation was successfully completed by Arizona Solar Concepts in June 2012. All coordination with their sales engineer, installation team, office staff and owner was always handled promptly and professionally. To date, I have not had any problems with my solar system. More recently, in June 2015, I had my tile roof replaced. Arizona Solar Concepts removed solar panels, railings, wires, etc., and two weeks later did a re-installation. Once again, their overall effort was accomplished in an efficient and courteous manner.
