Arizona Solar Solutions Renewable Energy Resources Reviews (20)

Arizona Solar Solutions is a licensed electrical contractor, several of our staff member are NABCEP certified, our installers, designers and engineers engage in ongoing education to ensure we are up to date with the most current installation techniques. In addition to our on going training...

our staff also includes a former roofer with experience in both residential and commercial roofing. All products and installation methods are reviewed and approved by the City / County / State / Fire Department and SunPower to insure they meet current code. Arizona Solar Solutions is one of the largest installer of SunPower systems in Arizona with over 700 solar system installed and operating in the valley and we stand stand behind each those installs with a 5 year warranty.

Arizona Solar Solutions was contracted with Mr. [redacted] to install his SunPower solar system (SunPower own's, operates, maintains, and warranties the solar system). During the installation of Mr [redacted]s solar system we received an email from Mr. [redacted] stating he had a friend who works for a competing solar company come out and look at the installation, to which he provided Mr. [redacted] with a list of (3) items he felt were incorrect. See attached email.

We explained to Mr. [redacted] that we would take care of any and all items he wished of us after we completed the city inspection so we could work on all of them at one time and avoid having to make multiple return trips which would delay the final inspection and commissioning of the system.  See attached email.

Mr [redacted] request more detail about the roof attachment system we were using as well as the flashing type for the roof hooks which we gladly provided. The attachment system is and was approved via submission of plans to the City Of Peoria and SunPower (the owner of the system), the city checks the installation drawings to ensure the construction of the system meets local and national safety, electrical and fire code as well as conducts inspections of the system during and after installation to ensure proper construction methods were used. SunPowers also reviews the system installation drawing to ensure the installation will also meet their internal construction standards as they have to warranty the system for 20 years from the date of install. Arizona Solar Solutions also warranties the roof attachments and penetrations for 5 years from the date of installation all of which was explained to Mr. [redacted] at this time.

After providing Mr. [redacted] with the requested spec sheet about the roof hooks and flashing we asked Mr [redacted] for a good time that we could send the install team back out to complete the installation and requested he also be present at the time so he could inspect the final work and make any additional request for changes or modifications to the system while the crew was onsite so they could be completed at the same time. Mr [redacted] at that time declined to allow us to return to his property and contacted SunPower requesting a different dealer be used to complete the system and final correction. SunPower and Arizona solar Solutions had several follow up conversations with Mr. [redacted] letting him know we would make any additional connection he wanted along with the required city corrections, Mr. [redacted] still declined to let us return to the property to finish the project. SunPower did assign Mr [redacted] a new installer to complete the system so the project could be moved forward. SunPower did informed us that the new installer they sent to his home informed them that whoever installed the roof prior to the solar installation did not replace any of the soft wood that should have been replaced during his reroof (see Mr [redacted] comment about soft areas on the roof) and that the system we installed did not leak at any of the attachment point to the roof. Arizona Solar Solutions believes in 100% customer satisfaction and truly wish we could have completed the installation for Mr [redacted].

See attach email detailing the conversations and request for informations by Mr. [redacted] and the reply's by Arizona Solar Solutions.

I purchased a system complete a year and a half ago. I contacted the company a few months later that the system was not producing what was promised. They said, it takes a year to see the full picture because of the credits from aps. I went so far as cutting down a large tree next to the house to see if the production would improve. That cost me another 1K to do and did improve slightly. The plan showed the tree in place. They did send someone out and he said the panels should be repositioned because of large pine trees in the far back yard. After talking with his boss all of a sudden he didn’t know what he was talking about and shouldn’t have commented on it. I have called and called for estimates to add additional panels and these guys won’t even return the call. I paid 20k for my system, once they have your money forget it. Terrible communication and “NO” guarantee.

Mr. [redacted], was is the resolution you are seeking?

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Even though they had a very professional letter, the truth was not told. They made reference to soft spots in the roof that another installer commented on. I had a New Roof installed just before they were up there, at no time did Arizona Solar Solutions ever said anything about soft spots on my roof. If there would have been don't you think they would have brought it to my attention so they wouldn't have been responsible for it? Just like I told the new installation company, if there is any soft spots on my roof it is from the poor workmanship they used on my house. I never had water damage to my back wall yet after they did what they did up there I do. No matter how much Arizona Solar Solutions say they are trained and how they are professionals is the same untruthfulness I had to deal with while they were here. Two other installation companies out here looking at what they did just couldn't believe what was done to my house. If they are such professionals then why did all companies say the only ways to fix what was done is to take everything off and start fresh. I attached 3 pictures, Not flush shows a self made bracket stand that isn't even flush with the roof to the point you can see the screw going in, no sealant any place around it, just a screw half way in. Flashing, or what they called flashing, as you can clearly see that is not sealed, moisture and bugs can get right into all the unsealed openings. More then enough room to put your finger in there. Cut short, is a picture of conduit that was cut short, picture taken, Arizona Solar Solutions tech sent back out to my house to fix issues and what they did with the conduit was turn it and position it to look like it was fixed. After the conduit was mentioned to them and they were out to my property to fix it, it was never fixed just re-positioned, another reason why they city failed the installation. This is not the work of professionals, I have looked into the work that was done on my house and other professional have said and this is a quote "In all my year of doing this job I have never seen an installation this bad." I do believe it maybe time to get an R.O.C. inspector out here to prove once and for all what type of job was done. I still have proof of my claim to be true on my house, I welcome any professional to look at what they did and say my claim is faults. I have the proof.

Regards,

Review: On 03/13/2013 I signed a contract with Arizona Solar Solutions to have a solar unit installed on my house. Before installation I was told of substandard work done by one of their employees and I requested another installer. The companies construction manager told me that he would guarantee that a professional job would be done by this installer. The installation failed city inspection at least twice. I had another company come over to check out the installation on my roof. Their exact words "Wow, that is the worse mess-up I have ever seen". I had pictures taken and I wrote letter to the construction manager of problem with the installation. He assured me they would be taken care of, they were not but they did try to cover them up. After multiple attempts by them to fix it and after me telling them after inspection by other industry professional what still wasn't to code The manager told me I was wrong and everything was to code. So I said OK, but if it fails city inspection, that is it. Yes it FAILED! So I contacted Sun Power the owner of the equipment to let them know of the problems I have been having with the HORRIBLE workmanship and being lied to by the management of Arizona Solar Solutions. Sun Power contacted them and again they said they would come out and fix it. After the amount of damage already done to my property and the lying of the management I told Sun Power I don't want that company on my property. Sun Power sent over another installation company to fix the problem. I made sure I was here when he inspected my property. This company said that everything installed on my roof was wrong I can't believe someone could do that type of work. Everything needs to come off and the roof fixed and re-installed to code with proper flashing the right way. After the technician took the pictures of what was done I was informed by them that they couldn't do the job because of the damage already done. A second installation company was sent out, the manager of this company said that they would get the system up and running but again the system needs to be taken down and re-installed the right way. Just prior to the installation by Arizona Solar Solutions I informed them that I just had a whole new life time warranty roof done. This new installation company said they found soft spots on my roof. I have water damage to a back wall. Stuff that shouldn't happen with a Brand New Roof. I have been told by companies that this should also be reported to R.O.C. Arizona Registrar of Contractors, it is that bad. Pictures have been taken I still have e-mails to Arizona Solar Solutions stating the problems and their reply. Today is 01/30/2014 because if all this the unit isn't fixed yet.Desired Settlement: I would like Arizona Solar Solutions to be held responsible for the substandard workmanship and the deceitful practices of their company/management. I want them to be held responsible for returning my roof to the condition it was in before they messed it up and responsible for any damage done to my property because of their poor workmanship. This type of work should be made public so other people don't have to go through the nightmare I am still going through.

Review: The Solar Water Heater System you contracted and installed by AmeriFlo Water Systems (Account #[redacted]) on 6/20/2011 failed recently. The failure was not recognized until our January and February APS power bill suddently rose by $18.50 p/mo. Consequently, as my visual inspection discovered, our home's hot water suppoly was being furnished entirely from APS Company's 230 Volt power supply to MAIN 80 gallon hot water tank, also installed as part of your solar water heater installation.

My further inspection of the Solar System's Drainback Reservoir indicated the tank was completely empty. This came as a startling surprise, since your warranty states (copy attached) that you hereby warranty all contractor and subcontractor-furnished materials, equipment and workmanship performed for a period of 5 years from the date of the contract.

To expedite repairs I called and talked to [redacted] of your company, stating that AmeriFlo had committed to a later appointment date for repairs, but that there would be a trip charge of $79.95. Consequently, I emphasized to [redacted] that he, or someone authorized to do so, call AmeriFlo and have them send the bill to your company so as to allow you to honor your warranty. However, two days later AmeriFlo came out and found tow factory solder leaks in two copper tubing couplers inside the Solar panel. However, to my amazement, following the repairs I was presented a bill for $79.95 by AmeriFlo's repairmen, of which I paid.Desired Settlement: Therefore, I do believe your company is obligated, under warranty, to reimburse me for the fee AmeriFlo charged. So for your convenience I have attached copies of AmeroFlo's bill, my check to AmeriFlo, as well as a copy of your 5 Year Warranty.

Our experience with AZ. SOLAR SOLUTIONS was Absolutely, Positively AMAZING. From our first contact with [redacted] (who is the BEST Sales Consultant) to when the solar installation was completed and working, AZ Solar Solutions "held our hand" through the entire "process". Each STEP of the way, (which they do everything, and it is very involved; paperwork, designing, permits, inspections, contracts, etc.etc.) they called and / or emailed to keep us updated and informed. Their entire TEAM was ALWAYS Professional, Courteous and Helpful. They strive for complete Customer Satisfaction; and are a company that has INTEGRITY. I give them an A+. And to quote [redacted] ....."SIMPLY THE BEST...BETTER THEN ALL THE REST" !!! I WOULD / WILL DEFINITELY recommend AZ SOLAR SOLUTIONS.

Our original sales person made a rebate promise that I guess was not approved by the company. During our installation project, that salesperson left the company. Even though that salesperson wasn't there to back his promise, Arizona Solar Solutions made good the rebate promise and I believe paid it our of their own pocket.

I was very impressed with my first contact with Arizona Solar Solutions through their representative, [redacted]. He was very professional and answered all my questions. He took time to review the installation process and explained the contract.
The installation went smoothly as planned and the process was very organized. We were kept informed at every step in a very timely manner.
Overall, this company met all expectations and made the experience very pleasant.
I highly recommend this company.

I am delighted to provide my review of [redacted] as a photovoltaic solutions provider for the Phoenix West Valley.
I found the Sales Consultant, [redacted] to be responsive and knowledgeable. I was a new customer to photovoltaic technology and positioned him against Solar City and REC, two main competitors in the Phoenix area. He was very good.
I found the Inside Sales/Operations, focal point, [redacted], to also be responsive and knowledgeable with regard to validating my system Engineering and monitoring City of Peoria and APS permitting as well as the SunRun installation team scheduling and follow-up.

The sales representative did a good job of explaining the system and the lease that we selected that would give us the best return on our solar investment. The installation crew did a very good job when the system was installed. We have been online now for almost a year and the system is producing more electricity than we are using. Overall we are very happy that we selected Arizona Solar Solutions.

Review: I was promised by the sales rep. [redacted], a representative of Arizona Solar Solutions, in I believe it was november of 2012, that after signing a leasing contract I would be powering my home 105 % on solar power. unfortunately this has not been the case on numerous occasions I have contacted this company about issues with the city and [redacted] leaving notes on our power box basically indicating that they have not been up to code with the way they installed our solar system I was told that the solutions were underway and they were basically take care of everythingDesired Settlement: I want these people to turn my solar power on I want to work properly and I do not want to have to contact them for at least a year and to be completely honest I think that they should be reprimanded in someway or form they come out the tinker here and there but I am seen any real results as of yet

Response:

We are working with Mr. [redacted] and we will have his issues resolved shortly.

Our system was activated in January 2014. Thus far we are pleased with the results. The sales person ([redacted]) explained the system fully and even sent us the incentive he promised even though he had left the company at that time, and I understand he has returned. We are looking forward to a full year of usage to determine our savings, though they look to be as we expected. We highly recommend Arizona Solar.

Howard and [redacted] Sun City Grand

The best in the business. Period. I love my solar system and my solar experience from Arizona Solar Solutions. Very knowledgable staff and the best installation crew. Its painless. Also bye bye electric bill!!!

I had Arizona Solar Solutions install solar on my home 2 months ago, and it was finally activated by APS yesterday. Reviewing the company, Rich was the main person that I spoke to throughout the entire process. He sold me on it but not in salesman way, very nice and normal guy. He also helped me set up my loans and was great about explaining how everything worked, since I didn't know much about solar.

I can't say enough about the installation crew and Rich for answering my many phone calls. I'd definitely recommend Arizona Solar Solutions and Rich as well.

I installed solar panels on our roof, targeting to produce all the electricity we use ourselves. As I do not understand too much of either the technical side of it, nor the paperwork involved, I was happy to get really good advice and help from Arizona Solar Solutions.

They helped me to decide on what to do, they helped with all the required paperwork (and this is a lot), helped with APS, etc., any step you can imagine.

What took me by surprise was how long it took to get the whole thing installed and running. There are some many little things you would never think of (like dealing with a complaint from the Town of Carefree, because the panel frames are shiny and neighbors may file a complaint), with the help of Arizona Solar Solutions we got everything solved ....

The system installed works very well and supplies more electricity than we currently use - it fulfills my expectations completely.

Running the system for a number of months and paying attention to the use of energy, I found a number unnecessary energy uses. Not only do I produce as much energy as I need, I also found quite some savings.

Altogether I am very happy with the solar system and the company installing it.

I had interview 4 other solar company's and was about to give it up, with all, things these said they would do, but when it came to signing the contract and to get get simple answer like what brand of Equipment they would use and for sure when they could start and how much would I really save , that's when all the talk starting changing or we don't really know for sure.

Then I called Arizona Solar Solutions and spoke with [redacted], WOw He told what brand of panels and inverters ,when they could start when they would finish

and how much I would save, not just the first year but for the next 20years. Yes , it a projection , but he is very near the bull eye in the target . All of the staff at Arizona Solutions were great, they let me know every step of the way what was going to be next and they were always on time. Its really nice to get great service and product at a fair price.

Everything [redacted] told me would happen, Happen and on time. Our system was installed in Jan. of 2014 and today is July, 25th, so I have had some time to really see the value in it. So far our highest aps bill since Jan. was $18.56 and that was for the month of June.

Thank You, [redacted]

Arizona solar is an amazing company. Their sales rep [redacted] was honest and forthright from the very beginning. Their installation was on schedule and everything was communicated step-by-step along the way. I highly recommend using this company if you are going solar.

Arizona Solar Solutions was our final choice (of over 14) quotes we received for our new Solar System. Every stage of the project was handled in a most professional manner, from the sales, to surveying our roof, and the installation team was first rate. Not one single surprise. They contacted our HOA, City of Buckeye, and APS submitted the plans for approval and kept us fully aware of each and every step. From start to finish it was less than 60 days for our system design, installation and sign offs by all parties. I would heartily recommend Arizona Solar Solutions to anyone looking to reduce their electric bill by going Solar. The is the best investment we've made to our new home. Nothing but praise for Arizona Solar Solutions.

Review: This complaint stems from promises made in July of 2014, by AZ Solar rep [redacted]. At this time, we were purchasing solar products from the company, and he offered us an exciting referral reward program. For every customer we referred that signed up, we got $1,000. We sent him 3 referrals who all signed up, and to date have only been partially paid. At the time he made this promise, he failed (I believe intentionally) to disclose that his company only paid 1/2 of this referral fee, the other 1/2 was paid by a different company. It was only several months after we delivered the referrals that he disclosed this information. Consequently, we have been paid fully for one referral, the [redacted], but are still owed $500 each for the [redacted] and the [redacted]. We referred these two in July and late September, respectively. I have over a dozen emails with [redacted], with often contradictory/misleading information about when we can expect payment, but in the end, we were never paid. I think 8 months is a bit long. In my most recent email, sent 3/5/15, I was advised by [redacted] that he no longer works for the company, and was I aware they have a customer service department, and it is not him. Clearly, he has no interest in keeping his promise now. I also emailed [redacted] and copied to [redacted] (both AZ Solar Solutions employees). [redacted] disclosed [redacted] was terminated because of communication issues with staff and customers. She advised she is aware we are owed money, but that we should wait another few weeks. The fact that we have been waiting 8 months didn't seem to matter. I feel as though I have made every reasonable attempt to resolve this issue, and have been continually lied to and brushed aside. The fact that another company is "responsible" for payment is irrelevant (and is being used as an excuse for non payment), because [redacted] made the promise while acting as a representative of AZ Solar Solutions, and did NOT disclose that another company was involved until much, much later.Desired Settlement: I want what was originally promised to me, the $500 we are still owed for the Zerivica referral and the $500 for the [redacted] referral. I would like this in a timely fashion, as well as a written apology for how poorly we have been treated.
