Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]
First of all I realize that I am not an accomplished rider, while *** may be. I was not riding off center. I do realize that saddles can come loose, but this was at the beginning of the trail ride. This ride was to last approximately hour, while this happened about minutes into the ride. I did not reach for a tree branch and then fall. I was slipping and tried to quickly grab whatever was closest to keep from going over. This did not work. I will agree that *** did ask me if I needed emergency assistance. I did want to rest, but I did ask for First Aid because I was bleeding. *** said I needed to go back to the stables. Why would I want to continue going on the ride for another plus minutes while I was bleeding and in pain? *** also did not mention that the other trail guide riding at the end offered to back with me towards the stables. To which *** replied no. I had just fallen off of a horse in a city I had never been to before. I could have had a concussion, but was told to walk back "that way, to the left" to get back to the stables by myself. When I did manage to get back to the stables, the people working there had no idea what to do and just kept asking each other what to do. So I returned to the ticket booth. The one lady was very nice, but was very apparent that they have no training for any emergency. They offered to put band-aids on my large cuts, to which I replied that wouldn't work. They finally helped clean my wound & wrapped it in some gause. So I sat waiting for my friends to finish the ride. As they returned they told me that the stable workers were all saying, "it wasn't me" trying to blame someone for my accident. *** never even walked over to see if I made it back. Being in a new city I could have gotten lost.
I am worried for the next person this happens to. They have no plans in place for when this happens. Through the research I have done, this seems to be a common occurance. They seem to rely on "hope" that bad things don't happen. If they do, it's OK because these tourists have signed a waiver making us not liable. When I signed the waiver, I did so hoping that if something bad did occur that this company would be prepared for the emergency, rather than just churning out the next trailride group.
Lastly, I do not have health insurance. The doctors visit will end up costing me a few hundred dollars. I paid for my pain prescriptions out of pocket. I lost 1/a days pay to go see the doctor. Besides the cuts, the doctor said I had severe sprains & strains on my right side along with a pulled hamstring. It will take about month to recover. Both women at the ticket booth knew I was hurt on the ride, yet never even thought to offer my money back at the very least. I did call the company back to try and get the name of their insurance company. I left a message for "***" the manager. I still have not gotten a call back
Needless to say, I will not be returning to Wisconsin Dells.
Regards,
*** ***

I believe the easiest way to respond is to take the complaint as he wrote it
First the horse was saddled properlyThe saddle did slid off center but did not slide offHow this happens is the rider is not sitting on the center of the horse and as he horse walks the horse breaths in and out and the rider's weight pulls the saddle to the side were the weight isThis is especially true when going downhill which is where this occurred We can only tighten the cinch so tight without hurting the horseAnd a note; when I adjusted the saddle the cinch was tight.
[redacted] did call out to me for assistance and before I could get off my horse and get back to him he was on the groundMy understanding was he reached out to a branch or something to stabilize himself and the horse continued to walk which caused him to fallI did not see this myselfReaching is what I feel caused him to louse his balance
Now as to injuries he did have a cut and some scratches on one armI inquired if he needed emergency assistance or any assistance several times and all he said was (let me sit here a moment and get my breath)I proceeded to adjust the saddle and gave him the time he needed to get himself togetherI than gave a hand out and assisted him to his feetI offered him Dixie to ride and he did not want to get back on the horse I also offered him Tex a different horse but he said he wanted to walk back to the stable. He did ask for first aid for the cut on the trail but I do not carry a first aid kitI did instruct him to go to the ticket booth for the aid he needed. I did check the kit later (after receiving this letter) and it is fully stocked with everything he would have needed
Now as to me being more concerned about finishing the ride more than his injuriesIf I gave that impression I am sorryWhen guiding a trail ride I have the responsibility of all guests on the rideAll guests are my concern this included [redacted] I am a retired person who rides for the love of the horsesMy only thought is to give the best experience to every rider on my trail so they will love riding as much as I do
As to the women in the ticket booth. Assistance was given and the second person continued doing her job so all customers were accommodated. To me this is a good thing
I don't know what other info you will need but feel free to ask I will respond as quickly as possible
