Arizona Trademasters Reviews (24)

Review: My AC unit was installed by Arizona Trademasters in 2008 and has leaked every monsoon season since. In 2012 they charged me $750 to install an expansion valve in the air handler and in 2013 they charged me $100 for a service call. In August and September of this year (2014) they have made numerous trips to my house attempting to stop the leaking, without success, in fact things got progressively worse after each visit. The one thing I will give them is that they didn't charge me for any of the 2014 visits. However, they are simply not qualified to be licensed in my opinion. Friday 9/19/14 they were here for 3 hours installing a condensation pump (no charge but turns out it was not new). After they left I had no AC and learned that my thermostat was blown (it was working before they entered my house). They replaced it on Saturday and between Saturday and Monday morning I still had dripping and a very large banging noise (so loud I had to turn my unit off). Monday at 9:15 AM my entire unit blew (lights, appliances, etc). I was able to restore all power except the AC unit. They sent someone out Monday afternoon but he was unable to find the problem. Additionally, they left wires exposed, pointed out to me by the new AC guy, and didn't replace the breaker box cover. They sent an independent/outside electrician out Tuesday morning and he found the problem within 2 minutes - the inside fuses had blown. He restored power to the AC unit but warned that it would probably blow the fuses once the AC was turned back on. Even though this electrical company had work with AZ TM numerous times, the technician was "left speechless" when it saw the install job and what they had done to my unit in an attempt to fix it. I called another AC company and they were out Wednesday morning at 8 AM and fixed the problem in 1 hour. Likewise the new AC company was appalled at the install job and the jerry-rigging that Arizona Trademasters had done. AZ Trademasters also scheduled an appointment with me from 10-1 on Thursday, I confirmed at 11:55 that I was still on their schedule, but they NEVER showed up or even called!! Their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. Additionally, they just do not tell the truth. One of the owners told me that he had talked with the technician and what he/the electrician/technician was telling me was false. I asked "What was the technician's name?" and of course he didn't know....but said "[redacted]" and I said, "No that's the owner's name." I'm out $850 to this company plus $5884 for the original install, and $65 for the new AC company's service call that fixed the problem.Desired Settlement: The new AC company said the unit was improperly installed from the get-go. Also the duct work was improperly installed. They will charge me up to $1500 to take down and reinstall. I want the new AC company to do the work and Arizona Trademasters to pay the bill. I DO NOT WANT ARIZONA TRADEMASTERS IN MY HOUSE EVER AGAIN!!! Everything they touch turns into something worse.

Response:

We installed the ac unit in 2008, and the unit had no water problems other than a condensation line blockage. Which a simple blow out of the drain was all that was needed. [redacted] drain line in not accessible and drains into the bathroom sink and is covered by drywall. [redacted] home is a town house and has no attic, so you cannot get to the drain line after it leaves the unit.

[redacted] contacted us in August 2014 with a water problem we blew out the drain line. [redacted] continued to have a water problem we cleared the drain line on another visit and the water problem continued. We suggested to [redacted] that we would have to remove drywall or remove the unit to get to the drain line that was not accessible. We gave [redacted] the options to do the repair and she did not want to do the repairs or pay for the repairs. We did not charge [redacted] for the visits and added a condensation line pump to try to help her out and did not charge her for that either.

[redacted] repair that she paid for expansion valve were well after her warranty period, the unit was installed in 2008, and only had a 2 year labor warranty.

The electrical complaint, the unit lost power and we paid for the electrician to check the sub panel at no cost to [redacted]. She is complaining about a unit that has been out of warranty since 08/10

We have not charged [redacted] a penny for any of our visits, and we recommended removing the unit or removing drywall so we could access the drain line that was not accessible due to being covered with drywall, in which [redacted] did not want to pay for. The unit has been out of labor warranty since 08/2010.

We have gone out of our way to help [redacted], and have not charged her any Money. When we gave [redacted] quote to do the same repairs she became very rude and hired another contractor.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The response by AZ Trademasters did not offer an acceptable action to resolve my complaint. As usual, all they did was make excuses. I understand it is out of warranty but the AC unit was never installed properly from the beginning and now every time they step foot in my house, something else goes wrong with it. They are not qualified to be in business and I have witnesses that will report safety hazards they created and left (water touching live wires).

They didn't install it properly from the get-go and I'm certainly not going to give them a second chance to screw it up. I want a financial settlement so that I can have it re-installed by another company.

Review: My wife and I contacted our home warranty company [redacted] for a leak in our air handler in our attic which the week before was repaired because the AC was not blowing cold air. A technician from Arizona Trade Masters was dispatched the same day which was Saturday July 13th. He stated that both drip pans in our air handler unit needed to be replaced and measured the lower of the two drip pans since that was a custom made pan. Days went by with no call from Arizona Trade Masters on the status on our service. We finally receive a call five days later on Thursday July 19th stating they need to come back and measure our drip pans. I explained that this had already been done but the rep insisted they both needed to be measured. Why the repair tech that came out on the 13th did not complete this is beyond me. The earliest they could come out to measure the pans is Wednesday July 24th. We now have water damage to the ceiling in our home because of this poor service and delay I have been up and down in the attic emptying buckets multiple times a day because of this issue. Our second unit is now leaking from the drip pans the repair tech also stated this might need to be replaced but never inspected the pans or offered to measure and replace those since this item is not covered under our home warranty. We now have multiple water spots and water damage on our ceiling to our second story which will need to be repaired and painted.Desired Settlement: We would like Arizona Trade Masters to hire a contractor at their cost to repair the water damage to our second story ceiling and pay to have this ceiling repainted after the repair.

Response:

We were called for the ac unit leaking water on 07/13/2013 through the home owner’s insurance company. We inspected the ac drain pans and found that the primary pan had a crack in it and was leaking into the secondary pan which was rusted and leaking. The home owner’s insurance company does not cover drain pans as part of his policy.

We have not charged the customer any money, and his drain pans are not covered from his home warranty. Arizona Trade Masters is not responsible for any water damages. We were called to his home for water leaking and told the customer on 07/13/2013 that his pans were bad and needed to be replaced that day. His insurance company does not cover pans as he stated. We are more then willing to replace the pans but the customer will have to pay to both pans replaced.

Review: I have a home warranty through [redacted]. I have had approximately 10 service calls since mid-May 2014 to repair an AC unit which is again currently not operational (AC and Heat Inopp). [redacted] in May sent [redacted], dba: Arizona Trademasters initially to repair, they were unable to repair other than quick temp fixes that all failed to correct the issue. [redacted] continued to pressure me to use Arizona TradeMasters for repairs even after 7+ visits and 2nd Opinion companies that I requested discovered poor workmanship and repairs not to industry standards (missing bolts on compressors, welds/soldering that failed on many occasions, trash left in and around unit from previous repairs). I further discovered what I believe is an unethical and possible illegal association between [redacted] and [redacted] dba: Ariz.Trademasters by which per state records, [redacted] has ownership and/or controlling interests in both companies. I would like to provide extensive documentation by fax or mail to Revdex.com.Desired Settlement: I am seeking that Arizona Trademasters never work on my unit again and refund my $195+59 paid to them, they have proven that they are unreliable and do not do work to correct industry standards, just ask [redacted] one of the 2nd Opinion companies or Share tech from [redacted] that just visited my property last week. Shane advised the repairs were not correct, also stated the compressor had been compromised by the freon being completely leaked from system and should be replaced. I have also filing complaints against [redacted] and Arizona Trademasters with [redacted] and the[redacted]

Response:

We were contacted through the homeowner’s home warranty for an AC unit that was not cooling. We discovered a compressor that failed, his home warranty ordered the compressor and we installed the compressor. After the compressor was replace the customer called back a couple days later to say the ac unit was still not cooling properly and a bad TXV was discovered. The bad TXV could not be diagnosed when the compressor was not functioning so we ordered the TXV. We replaced the TXV. There were several trips to the customer house but it was for having to return for parts that were needed or had to be ordered.

The complaint for the bolt not being put in the compressor, we offered to send a technician to check the work but the customer refused, we are glad to stand by our work, and if our technician made a mistake we are glad to fix it. There are no Freon issues that we are aware off, and the welds of out technician were checked with no leaks, this unit has had a lot of work done to it before we even got the call this is not a new unit.

[redacted] fees on $195.00 recovery and $59.00 deductible are from Marks home warranty. [redacted] did not want pay these fees and argued with his home warranty before we even made the repairs. Those fees are from his Home Warranty not us.

Arizona Trade Masters is an independently owned company, since 2001. [redacted] has no ownership of company. I purchased in 2001.

If we did something wrong we are glad to fix our mistake. We have offered to go check our work the customer refused. We have not been to the house since June and it October. We our contracted from [redacted] home warranty and they use many contractors.
