Arizona Valley Roofing, Inc. Reviews (2)

All of my dealings with Arizona Valley Roofing were through [redacted]-The owner. My experience from day 1 was subpar. On 9/12 he came to my home, introduced himself, went on the roof to take a look and do measurements. When he came back to the door with paperwork, instead of giving me an estimate he asked for the bathroom. He let me know that he would email a quote by the end of the business day, and then changed it to the next business day. By 9/16, I still had no estimate, so I emailed asking why. He called back and said that he had computer issues and they would re send the bid because their email wasn't working, and that I would have it by end of business 9/16. I didn't actually receive the bid until the following afternoon, and it obviously had just never been done because it had 9/16 as the date. Nevertheless, we continued talking back and forth about how everything would go/ colors/ timing, etc. On 10/1, I sent him, via email, my signed contract along with the desired color including pictures. I called [redacted] later that afternoon, he thanked me for my business and said that he received everything and had ordered the product. We had small conversation about how much of a range of difference there is between bids and the inconsistency with honesty about how many roofing layers I have, or whether or not I needed a new roof, etc. during my estimate process. He told me that unfortunately everyone isn’t honest! He told me that the product would be there on Friday 10/4/13. I really needed to confirm the start date because we were having someone else remove our chimney and our swamp cooler and "capping" off that part of the roof. I wanted to make sure that we didn't have 2 contractors in each other’s way and more importantly, I wanted to make sure that I would not have to worry about 2 places on my roof not having shingles, since it can rain at any time. He told me that they would start Mon/ Tues, and that I definitely needed to have those two issues taken care of prior. He said that he would give me a call Friday and let me know if they would be starting Monday or Tuesday. Big surprise, he never called me. So, on Monday, I gave him a call to ask if they were starting 10/7 or 10/8. He called me back and stammered over the fact that my bid had been rejected--which didn't make sense because he is the owner, he created the bid, he signed the bid, and he accepted the bid. He told me that he had mistakenly mixed up paperwork and given me someone else's bid. He apologized and told me that he was sorry but he's a business man and he found the mistake and corrected it for me--GEE THANKS [redacted]. He told me that he would send me a new bid by the end of the day and that I shouldn't be concerned about the cooler and the chimney removal because there is no rain in the forecast for 3 weeks. He didn't send me the new bid that day. He did however call me back just a few minutes after we spoke and leave a long message about how "they" already had the bid ready. He gave me a bid that was $2,000 higher, and again let me know that he was happy to have fixed the issue for me. He also told me that he never received a color and that I would need to let him know! He then immediately called back after leaving that message and left another one that was quite condescending. He let me know that since I didn't know how contractors work that I should call back who did the cooler and chimney work and force them to make it waterproof, because it could rain at any time because we live in Arizona. He said that because “we” rejected the bid, that I was no longer in contract with him and I was free to use another contractor. He told me that he would be emailing the bid. He emailed it on 10/8. Written in the same handwriting signed by the same person- [redacted]. By the way, there is rain in the forecast for 10/9. He called and left me a message and said that he was glad that I let him l know that there was inconsistency in bidding because that is how he knew that he needed to revise his bid. Now starting on the 7th and the 8th I had begun receiving blocked calls on my phone- they ended up being [redacted]s [redacted]. I can only assume that he thought that was the only way I would answer- I guess he missed the part about me working 7 days a week. On 10/8, at 8:47PM I got a restricted call and I was actually able to answer- It was [redacted]. I was more than irritated because I do not feel (as a business person) that is an acceptable time to call someone when it is not a predetermined time. He proceeded to attempt to explain himself. I told him that no explanation was needed and that I would be in contact. He said, oh so you're still going to use us? I said, I don't think so. He snapped at me and said that there was no reason for me to contact him then. He told me that he had only received color instructions and had never received a signed bid anyway and that I was never in contract with his company! He continued talking and I told him that it was ridiculous that he was even calling and I hung up on him. For some reason he immediately called me back and I answered. He says oh, [redacted], I was just leaving you a message. I told him that there was no reason to leave a message or to be calling me. He stated that I had to understand what happened. I told him that I did understand. I understand that I should have never chosen him from the moment that he didn't send that first bid. I told him. At this point he was irate and told me that I was just mad because I thought that I was getting away with something and he didn't let me. I told him; nope I'm mad because you are a liar. You have lied on multiple occasions and you changed your bid because you could. At this time he started calling me [redacted] and told me to stop talking so he could explain himself. I asked who [redacted] was! He stammered some more and ultimately I hung up on him. I am sure by leaving reviews I will receive more unwanted contact from [redacted], but that is a risk I am willing to take so that hopefully no one else has this same experience.

[redacted] came out to give us a quote on a roof repair on Oct 2 2014. He was one of several companies we had contacted. He was very and professional and explained what he thought was the issue and how they would resolve it. He was very timely in getting back to us with the written estimate. The bid was very reasonable, the time frame to completion was quick and the work performed was excellent. I'm thrilled we chose Arizona Valley Roofing to complete the project and would recommend them.
