If I could give zero starts, I certainly would. This was one of the worst experiences that I've had with a small business. I had purchased a livingsocial coupon for a massage and made an appointment online. I had to wait 5 weeks for the appointment and when I showed up, there was no one there. I called the phone number no less than 4 times, left several messages, stopped by Clark Richard Salon that Melissa L[redacted] shares the building with and got an email address. I emailed her and still no response. Still, I decided to give her one more opportunity to make things right. I booked another appointment, waited another 4 weeks, and ended up being stood up yet again. I called and left another message. Still no response. I have confirmation emails for the appointments. I don't understand how she thinks she can run a successful business when there is no communication and no reliability. Avoid. Not worth the wasted time and effort! Absolutely no courtesy.
I purchased a Living Social deal for a massage from Brook Falls Massage and Wellness in March 2016. At that time, I scheduled a massage for June 23, 2016, when I knew I would be off of work. The Living Social deal did not expire until July 21, 2016. On June 23, I received a text message from Brook Falls stating that the person scheduled to give me a massage was out sick and asked if I could reschedule for the following day. I agreed to reschedule. The next day, on June 24, I received another text message stating the person was still out sick, and could I reschedule for another time? I rescheduled for the following Friday, July 1, and was told I would receive a complimentary hot towel foot massage in addition to my massage. On July 1, to my disbelief, I received yet another text canceling for the third time. This time in addition to the hot towel foot massage, she said she would upgrade the massage to 90 minutes at no additional charge. This appointment was now scheduled for Friday, July 22, one day past the Living Social expiration date. This time I received no text, so I drove to the location, which was a hair salon. There I was told by the hair salon employees that they had not seen Melissa, the person who was to be giving me my massage. At that time, I tried calling her twice and sent a text message notifying her of my arrival. She did not respond to any of my attempts. It was only when I asked her for a refund that she told me I needed to contact Living Social. I have since contacted them twice, and was told both times that once the deal expires, the merchant is refunded the money. When I went back to Melissa for the money, she wrote to me, "please learn how living social payments to the merchant works before you harass me." A Living Social representative helped me navigate their site to the written terms where it explicitly states the merchant is responsible. I have issued a complaint with Living Social against this merchant. After reading reviews I see I am not the only one who has had problems with Brook Falls Massage and Wellness. I am currently exploring my legal options to receive my refund for a service never fulfilled. Please do not purchase anything from. Brook Falls Massage and Wellness!
