We repaired Mr.[redacted] Panasonic plasma tv and we gave him a written 90 day parts warranty and 30 days labor warranty which he agreed upon when he first brought the tv in for repair. We repaired his TV using the same parts that we have repaired several dozen other models the same, or similar, to...

his with no problems and the parts supplier we use we have been using for the 31 years we have been in business and have had no past problems with their parts. We give a 90 day warranty because that is the warranty we get from our supplier, some repair facilities only give a 30 or 60 day warranty, however we have had the same warranty terms since we opened and have had few complaints or problems in over 31 years of repairs. If Mr. [redacted] TV had failed within the 90 day parts warranty our parts supplier would have replaced the parts at no charge, but it was outside the warranty period and we even offered to give Mr.[redacted] a discounted labor rate as a good faith gesture to help out the customer which is something we have done in the past and it has always be accepted and welcomed by other customers.Mr. [redacted] comments about our shop "being dirty and operating on a shoe string budget" shows his childish, immature, nature and attitude as he has no idea what budget we operate by and our shop is cleaned and vacuumed weekly and we have been in business over 31 years and we have outlasted ALL but a few shops in the entire state of Arizona, something that speaks for itself. We offered Mr. [redacted] a discounted repair as good faith and to try and help the customer,he declined so there is nothing else we can do,if we wanted a longer warranty he should have purchased and new TV or found a repair facility that gives a longer warranty to which I don't know of any that gives longer warranties, some are shorter. If the Revdex.com needs any more information please feel free to contact us.Thank you,[redacted] -owner

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.By the owner a response this guy has no clue of how to provide customer service and his numbers don't add up.He says I want something for nothing.  What I want for the $450.00 I paid him is a repair that lasts more than 3 weeks and 10 weeks.  Not to much to ask for in the real world.  The owner offered me $50.00 off of labor on what would be the third repair for the same problem in 5 months. He brags that he has been in business all these years and does all this business and he has an excellent Revdex.com rating.  If you break it down his Revdex.com rating is based on a sample size of ONE review.  He claims he repairs 300 plus units a month in a shop that is no bigger than my family room (this was a small video rental store at one time). If we take his repair numbers times two (one drop off and one pick-up) and divide it by the amount of days he is open (24) then he would have over twenty people on average in his shop every day.  I regrettably have been there six times and never saw another person other than the owner.  Doesn't add up!! Fore warned is fair warned.Regards,[redacted]

This customer was given a written warranty for parts and labor. The parts warranty is the warranty we,Arizona Video, get from our parts supplier so we give the customer the same warranty we get.We attempted to give the customer a discount on the labor because that's what we can do here,we have no control over the warranty of our parts supplier, however the customer declined the discount. At this point there is nothing else we can do for the customer,he has refused a good faith discount from us. Thank you.

Mr. [redacted] brought in his camcorder on 9/4/13 and we repaired, cleaned, and tested unit and camcorder was operating properly.Mr. [redacted] came into out store on 10/15/13 about 2 minutes after our opening and began swearing and cussing and being abusive to us about the repair, even though the warranty is 30 days and the camera is out of our labor warranty, the warranty is expired. We had spoken to Mr. [redacted] on 10/14/13 and had told him to bring camera back in and we would take a look at it,but after coming in swearing at us and threathening to stop payment on the initial repair which the warranty had expired on we decided to no longer wish to service anymore of his equipment due to his actions in our store and in front of his young son,Mr. [redacted] obviousley has anger, and or other problems to act this way in a place of bussiness and especially in the presence of his young child. We repaired his camcorder, provided a warranty and would have honored that warranty if it had been brought back to us within the warranty period and if Mr. [redacted] had acted in a a non-abusive and not swearing manner.Mr. [redacted] has also left potentialy damaging, incorrect, and false on-line reviews of our bussiness and we have contacted our bussiness attorney about litigation on this issue so we cannot after this point comment on this non-warranty repair as this incident/problem is going to be brought to Superior court for litigation.Thank you,Tim Hoffman-owner

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The equipment was NOT tested appropriately. On first use of the camera I discovered that it was not in working order and left the shop as such. Granted it was outside of the said "labor warranty", the original problem still remained. After using a swear word out of pure frustration with the owners lack of responsibility toward his own work and possible damage done while repairing, the owner became irate with my verbiage, lost his temper, and refused to help me further. Once he refused to help me further, even after possible damage done by his own company during the in question repair, I let the owner know that the stop payment option was recourse. The owner then called me a "douche bag" as I left his store in front my 3 year old son. I explained to him that as the son of a business owner he was acting in hi disregard to his customer and that he could have at least looked at the unit to determine if his work was the fault during the repair.

Response:

All units are thoughly tested after repair as was this unit and it operated correctly,if not the unit would not have been sent back to customer .If the unit was under our warranty we would have honored our warranty and re-inspected and or repaired the camcorder, but after the customers abusive language, demenour, and threats we feel we have no other course of action than to decline any further repairs on Mr.[redacted]s camcorder. We have in the past repaired units that are out of warranty, sometimes by a month or more, but thats when the customers acts in a calm,decent,non-threathening manner and thats why we have been in bussiness over 30 years and have many repeat customers and good, sound, reviews from most on-line sources and publications. One problem is that the customer is taking no responability here.Mr. [redacted] should have taken the camcorder home and at least checked it so that if there was a problem he could have returned it within the warranty period, however that was not done untill warranty was expired.Mr. [redacted] is also assuming that the problem is from the original repair and that may not be the case at all, it could be any number of things causing the problem,if there is one at all. We have honored our warranty and we don't wish to do any further repairs on Mr. [redacted]s camcorder.Thank you.

Review: I brought in [redacted] plasma with no picture and paid $450.00 to repair it. One of the video boards went bad and needed to be replaced.

The unit worked for 3 weeks and then no picture again. Took it back and was told that the same video board went bad again and it was covered under the very small warranty (30 days labor & 90 days for parts) offered. Upon picking up the set the owner ([redacted]) assured me that it was very rare for something like this to happen and that he also installed an upgrade to the board so that it wouldn’t happen again. Guess what? After 75 days no picture!!

Again loaded up the big TV and drove 30 minutes to Arizona Audio Electronics for a third time and dropped it off. Was told that the same board failed and that the 90 warranty clock began with the first replacement board and thus no warranty and I would have to pay for the repair AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! Told the owner no thank you (don’t want to have to pay for another repair in maybe another few months) and picked up the TV and other then saying hi he said nothing. Not I’m sorry this happened again etc…

This business has either a bad supplier of parts (which they should address and stand up for their customers) or they are repairing the boards in-house with cheap parts and over charging with the premise that they are replacing the boards. The shop is very small and dirty looking so they must be operating on a shoe string budget. This is not how you run a business and treat customers.Desired Settlement: I desire a refund of my initial $450.00 for the repair service so I can spend that money with a professional repair shop that has integrity and values customer satisfaction.

I took my LG plasma TV in for repair,I had had it at another so called repair shop and they said it would cost over $600 to repair it.Arizona Video checked it out and gave me a quote of $340 to repair it and I had them repair it and it works great once again.I found Arizona Video from a friend at work who has used them for several years and he told me they were great.I will use them from now on,very professional, fast, and reasonable repair costs.I would highly recommend this business.
