Our policy states we place children on teams based on zip codes; we place them on the team practicing closest to where they reside(See attachment A.)
Unfortunately, the closest team to Mr*** for our Winter season was miles away
AYSL has a no refund policy,
which is reflected on both the paper registration forms and the online registration process(See Attachment A and B.) Rather, parents are offered a credit for their child to use towards a future season, or they may transfer it to another childOn January 13, 2014, Mr*** spoke with AYSL staff member *** *** expressing to her that the team practiced too far from his residenceMrs*** offered to give Mr*** a credit for a future season, stating that the Spring season would be larger than the Winter season and would offer him more teams in his area to choose fromMr*** elected to have his son skip the Winter season and play in the Spring season(See attachment C.)
Mr*** was referred to another team coached by Lynn Collins named the Sun Devils that practiced closer to Mr*** residenceCoach Collins was forming a new team and was looking for free agents to fill his team. Coach Collins informed Mr*** that the team would not be participating in the Winter season; they would practice throughout the season to prepare for Spring ballPer Coach Collins, Mr*** son has been participating in weekly practice up until approximately two weeks ago. We have since offered Mr*** a refund which was issued February 10, via U.S. postal service
With regards to the games and schedules, it is our practice to post schedules the week of the first gameThis occurs every season and for all sports programs because of last minute registrations and team schedule requests. Our Winter season was scheduled to begin January 11, However, several of the teams were not preparedTherefore, we pushed the season back to start January 18thEven then, not all teams started on January 18th because they were not preparedSchedules for the first week were posted online and sent out to coaches the week of January 13th. The remaining schedules were posted the following week
It should be noted that Mr*** registered his son to participate in our Fall tackle football program in August where in he requested a refund prior to the first game of September 22, 2013, which he was given(See attachment D.)
