Arizona's Best Painting Reviews (4)

As a HOA president of a small complex in central Phx I had to review and work with resident questions before, during and after the project. I have to say that Az Best was extremely responsive during all phases of the painting project. [redacted], as manager of the project, was professional as well. The residents, even the most persnickety ones, have been positive in this comments.

In mid-October 2013 we entered into an agreement to have Arizona’s Best Painting do some piecemeal painting in our house. The relevant work included painting the entire guest bedroom and the entire guest bathroom.

While there were many, many “issues” with this two-day painting project, only four are highlighted here, as they are representative of the poor service we experienced.

* When the paint crew arrived on Day 1, we and the owners (the adult son named [redacted] and his dad named [redacted]) reviewed what work was to be completed. It was explained and agreed the crew would use the guest bathroom as their restroom while working onsite. There was no work to be done in the master bathroom. However, early afternoon of the first day, the painters wandered into the master bathroom and used a sink to clean a paint roller.

* Mid-afternoon of the first day, a trail of paint shoeprints was created going from the guest bedroom across the upstairs hallway and down the stairs. Promised drop clothes were not laid down to protect the carpeted floor. Dried paint had to be removed from the carpet.

* After the crew eventually departed at the end of Day 2, we discovered the toilet seat / lid in the guest bathroom had been broken off at the hinges. We also discovered heavy paper, cardboard and paint floating in the same toilet. The toilet was used as a slop sink.

* While checking the credit card statement, it was noticed the painting company overcharged, by $150, the previously agreed upon amount to the credit card. When this incorrect charge was brought to [redacted]’s attention, he replied via email on November 18, 2013, he would mail a check for the $150 overcharge and add the cost ($23) for the replacement toilet seat / lid to pay for the damage. After three follow up emails sent to [redacted] since November 18, 2013, (today is 12-15-13) he has not responded and no reimbursement check has been received.

Obviously, this is not a company we would recommend to anybody and do not feel comfortable with them in our house.

Perhaps the company should consider a name change to Arizona’s Below Average Painting.
