satisfied with the solution. Regards, Anthony [redacted] President
Review: We hired ARK construction to remodel our kitchen/dining room August 2015. One of the items this job included was to install a new water line from our sink to refrigerator for the ice maker/ water dispenser. Tony K[redacted] President and contractor recommended this be done as we had no water line to the refrigerator. It was to be installed either from behind the sink, up the wall, across and under the ceiling then down the wall to the water/ice unit in the refrig or from behind the sink, down the wall, under and across the floor and up the wall to the water/ice unit. Either way was possible as the ceiling and the floor were both being replaced and accessible. We settled on the line going through our garage during precontract discussion. To our surprise,we found out upon returning from work that he chose to do the ceiling installation which meant the water line would be in our unheated attic above the ceiling. While we both expressed concern that this line could freeze, he assured us it would not and work was completed in Oct 2015. This winter, this water line has frozen 2 times. Both times it lasted for several days. We are concerned that it will break at some point during a freeze and ruin our newly installed cabinets. walls, ceiling, floor, etc. We cannot get to this line as it is in our attic, covered by the ceiling and behind a cabinet. The attic is now only accessible by an opening in our bathroom behind the medicine cabinet. We do not know exactly how this problem should be fixed but we know it needs to be fixed. We emailed Mr. K[redacted] asking for advice on Feb 17,2016 but have not heard back from him. We hope you can help us solve our problem.Desired Settlement: We would like ARK construction to install insulation in our attic to prevent water line freezing, install shut off valves under our sink so when it gets freezing outside, we can shut off the water line, or do whatever else that would prevent water line from freezing. The current condition of our kitchen/dining room must be maintained or returned to its current state. If ARK is unable or unwilling to do this, we would like a refund in the amount that another company would charge to perform this service.
